So I haven't posted on this blog since 2022. Honestly, I almost forgot this blog existed! But I figured it's about time I posted something 'official' in case any of you have wondered where I've been.

I've quit Toontown Rewritten, to the point of uninstalling the game from my computer. I've honestly just grown bored with the game, as I've finished the main bulk of it and have been stagnant in the whole Field Office endgame of it all. We're all familiar with the whole grinding for gags, stuff for cog suits and promotions, and all the little side activities just to get laff point boosts (I've actually fully completed gardening and golf), and on top of devoting tons of time into fighting the cog bosses (FOs included), I've felt that was all just too much for me.

You probably have noticed all the little rants about other toons on this blog and how their bad play made me tired and frustrated, and honestly, just stepping away from the game altogether and avoiding all that trouble was better for my mental health. I've since graduated from university and started a full-time job, and that alone takes a lot of time from my day. I simply don't have the energy anymore to devote an hour or so into FOs and grinding and all that. I don't hate the game by any means, it still has a nostalgic place in my heart. I just don't want it to end up being the only thing I absolutely have to play every day like another full-time job, lol. I think I'm a little past the target demographic now, anyway.

This is just a fun, silly little game I enjoyed playing back when it was owned by Disney and I definitely don't need to devote so much energy into thinking about gag strategies and having to either deal with other toons who don't know better or being yelled at myself for not knowing gag combos and whatnot. I will still keep this blog up with all the memories and funny moments I've experienced on this game archived, but I will not be posting anything new.

My friend @thunder-and-lighting, who I've played TTR with and shouted out here many times, still continues to play this game and updates me in our little shared Discord server with things they accomplish. I'm not sure if they will continue the legacy we've started and will post their own funny moments in-game, but you're welcome to head over to their blog and give them a follow. Feel free to let them know I sent ya.

I have a sideblog dedicated to the Sims 4, my new big game I've been putting a bit of time into. Catching Game be like...

"It's sometimes so hard to tell! One second, I think I'm going to catch a watermelon, the next second, I get punted with an anvil. Someone should seriously teach those toons to improve their aim. Not going to be in character for this post, it’s going to be a bit ranty and long. This is also something I’ve kind of been wanting to make a post for a while now because it bothers me to no end.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but it’s kind of a clown move to not join field offices when your gags are not maxed (even after people say they prefer people with maxed gags to join their groups)... but then to have an attitude about groups kicking you when you aren’t maxed? That’s even more clownery.

STORY TIME!

So me and @thunder-and-lighting​/Jack Thundersmirk were doing some one-star field offices just to complete some of our tasks, and during one of these runs, this toon named “Moth” joined our ToonHQ group but didn’t have maxed gags (we prefer to run with people who are maxed because we just want to ensure that we can do the most maximum damage/healing possible - that’s only possible if you’ve trained all your gags past level 6 and have gotten to level 7), so we rightfully kicked them... buuuuut they showed up anyway.

In hindsight, I should’ve gotten a screenshot of our ToonHQ group in which we posted a comment saying “please join only if you are maxed”, but I didn’t realize this person was going to be such a buffoon... hopefully you can take my word on this.

Moth remarked, “you kicked me”, and at first, we decided to just give them the benefit of the doubt as they did have higher laff than us, so we figured maybe they knew what they were doing... just maybe.  We took them with us, and that’s when we started mentioning how on the ToonHQ group, we said we preferred maxed toons, but they joined when they weren’t maxed. They started having an attitude and saying they don’t even LOOK at the comments on the group DESPITE THE FACT THAT WHEN YOU CLICK ON A GROUP, YOU CAN EASILY SEE THE COMMENTS TO THE RIGHT!! I would’ve gotten more screenshots, but I’m pretty sure Moth kept on insisting, “iS tHeRe aN iSsUe?” and saying how they couldn’t care less... at one point, they said something like they didn’t care about maxed toonup, to which Jack responded that it WAS important, especially in a field office (1st screenshot). Moth responded, “not when everyone has max TU” (second screenshot), which we felt kind of gave it away that they were just going to let the rest of us carry them since we all completed our toonup track.

We then just figured we’ll power through this field office as best as we could despite Moth THEMSELF being the issue with this group, but we didn’t even get past the first group of cogs due to Moth DITCHING US when they got to a lower amount of laff. I guess they must have figured we weren’t going to give them a toonup due to their attitude, which I mean... yeah, maybe we just wanted to watch your world burn.

Again, I hope you can take my word on this despite me wanting to get more screenshots, and maybe you can understand why some of us prefer maxed gags over high laff. I mean, yeah, 100+ laff is important field office-wise, but hey, it is recommended that you have plenty of gags with you as well. If I’m being honest, the best case for having plenty of gags is when you’re maxed so you can make the most out of your 80 gag choice at the gag shops. Debate is fine I guess, but I’m pretty sure I’m just going to stick to my preference of joining field offices ONLY when you’re maxed. 

And PLEASE avoid toons like Moth at all costs! If you join a group and find yourself kicked a minute or so later, either join again if you think it’s a mistake OR TAKE THE HINT AND DON’T SHOW UP!!!!!!

yo ttr, please fix your game. i know y’all had to deal with doodles breaking the game lately, but my friend @thunder-and-lighting and i decided to go on the trolley today and we got this tag game four times; EVERY time, it seemed to glitch out and the person who was it could never be able to tag the other person.

I got a new doodle! Well...

This isn’t actually my first doodle, but I’ve got an interesting story behind this one. 

Ever since a new doodle tracker thing got added to ToonHQ, I decided to scout out a better doodle than the one I originally got a while ago. I eventually settled on this little guy not because it had the stats I wanted (I was originally looking for “rarely confused” and “rarely tired” but it only had one of these), but because it looks like my real life doggo (see her below the cut)!

Yup, this is her. The goodest girl. Isn’t the resemblance uncanny?

She’s a six-year-old Manchester Terrier, and yes, her name really is “Mozart”. Unfortunately, in TTR, the name “Mozart” is only limited to male doodles.

YEAH UM NEWS FLASH?? MOZART IS A LAST NAME?????? BOTH MALES AND FEMALES PLUS ANYONE ELSE NOT IN THE GENDER BINARY CAN HAVE THAT LAST NAME????????????

Yeahhhhh, I’ll just keep calling my doodle a “good girl”, thanks. She literally doesn’t seem to mind, anyway, considering she still comes to me when I say “Here, girl!”. Plus, it’s even more funny when the doodle doesn’t do tricks when I ask her to, because my pupper knows no tricks except “sit”. And also sometimes doesn’t like to come when she’s told to.

So you see, you can’t get on me for “misgendering” my doodle. Trust me, it’ll be a great story to tell in boss fighting groups where I end up calling her. TTR, PLEASE make doodle names gender-neutral... and while you’re at it, you might as well be like TTCC and remove the gender entirely. I have a friend who plays a male toon and wants to be able to wear skirts.

Hey friends, Mod Maddy interjecting here. My last year of university has just started up (I'll be graduating by the end of this year), so I'll be putting a pause on TTR for now until I get a good idea of how my classes work and have a grasp on my workload. That means I'll be posting less original content from my own gameplays, but I might still reblog Tootown-related stuff. So far so good, I think, and since I have a light schedule this semester, I'll see if I can fit in a part time job as well. I'm definitely not quitting the game by any means, I'll come back on from time to time once I've settled into the semester. Good vibes are appreciated, and I wish everyone out there the same as well. Let's hang in there together! 💞

For context, I was doing Chip ‘n Dale’s MiniGolf with an alt account and trying to get all the trophies so I could get some laff boosts. Some of the courses can be kind of tricky to navigate, but it doesn’t help that my alt account somehow does better at navigating the course even though I’m purposely trying to play bad on it so my main account can get some wins.
