niallhoran: Long time no see. Hope you haven’t forgotten about me, Lovers! I wanted to say a massive thank you for everything you’ve done around the 5th anniversary re-release of Heartbreak Weather. The album needed its day in the sun again so we had to give it to it. Here’s a little bit of Dress off the re-release.

okay okay okay i’ve been listening to heartbreak weather non stop since the anniversary version came out and i know this has probably been said before but god fucking jesus it’s really an autopsy of an album. like DRESS!!! it’s not just about heartbreak, it’s about the war inside someone who knows they’re hurting themselves by holding on, but still can’t let go. the self-destruction in dress isn’t subtle. it’s staring at an old dress like it’s an altar, it’s replaying memories you know are rotting, it’s asking “do you still want it?” like you don’t already know the answer. there’s a part of him that wants to put it away. that sees the truth. but the need for love is louder, messier, clawing its way back in. and that’s the battle, one side begging for release, the other begging for return. he’s not choosing one or the other; he’s torn open in the middle. it’s unbearable hope versus unbearable truth. okay and now i’m gonna go stab myself

niallhoran: Crazy to think today marks 5 years since the Heartbreak Weather album release. The release date, which had been planned for months and months in advance, ended up being right as the pandemic started.

With all of that happening and in turn the tour being cancelled, it wasn’t until last year that I finally got to see you all sing these songs back to me.

The way it’s become a fan favourite over these past few years has truly made me so happy. Thank you for continuing to embrace it all these years later xx 💔🌦️⚡️
