May I refer you to better artists? Check out Glen Keane, Ken Duncan, Don Bluth, Aaron Blaise! Heck that guy even has his own youtube channel where he shows how to do traditional animation! 

They’re honestly the best role models! ...I still make a lot of mistakes on my end, and I don’t think you wanna repeat them. Heheh... But yeah, we’re all still learning.

For hands, I always go back to my idol Mr. Milt Kahl. The dude practically invented the Disney hand style. They’re super notizable in classic disney movies like Sword in the Stone and 101 Dalmatians, but also Atlantis. Even if that movie was past Milt’s time, I think his style really influenced their hands.

They’re all so expressive it hurts!!! 

If it helps... a tip I can give when you draw hands which is something not a lot of people enjoy... is to try to make it fun. Give the hands something to do. If you can, give them a prop and imagine how a character is holding this prop. Virgil is not going to hold something the same way Roman would... :P Treat the hands like their own little character, as if they have a personality of their own and have something to say but that thing can only be said in a pose. If that makes sense.

You can also do a few studies, with real life reference and do the same pose in different styles. Like Simpsons style, Classic Mickey Mouse, Avatar, anime, Disney, etc.
