Another evening with young Stargazers!
Tumblr media
Every now and then we organise a Stargazing night for kids.
Let it be the ‘Super moon’ or the ‘opposition of Jupiter’, any chance we get to let the young minds gaze on skies that inspired our ancestors and still continue to inspire us.
This year our daughter's school slumber party was an amazing occasion for it.
Dance and Party, Under the stars story telling followed by a close-up at Moon's craters was an awesome start to the sleepover.
In addition we helped school plan on getting a Portable Planetarium. There was no stopping to the skyrocketing excitement that followed.
These young minds are the future 'Thinker's' and 'Tinker's'! Yesterday night those tiny brain cogs were turning faster that any of us. The vastness of universe matched the extent of their curiosity.
It’s an amazing expanse of Universe full of Planets, Stars, Clusters, Nebulas and Galaxies, Still within the reach as simple as just looking up!

We always aspire to make learning about the solar system fun!
Knowing our Solar System is an important part of every kids’s education. It helps kids appreciate our planet Earth. Motivating them to preserve and respect our natural resources.
One of the ideal ways to get kids interested in the solar system is by showing them films. It can be difficult to make the solar system interesting just by conversation. But showing videos and documentaries can make Planetology come alive.
With regard to documentaries, we’d like to present our new full-dome show - ‘Incredible Introduction to the Solar System - for Juniors’
vimeo
If the documentary is too serious for students to process, they might loose interest. Thus we’ve come up with very special motion graphics way to lighten up the information. They can engage and enjoy while learning more about the Solar system.
Its Ideal and entertaining for the age group of Kindergarten and Pre-Schoolers. With lovely visuals and catchy tunes, its perfectly timed to attract the young audience and give about the right amount of knowledge.
We suggest to have a discussion with the kids after, to straighten out the facts. Also try a trip out on a clear night and try to find the planets in the sky. Having children look at the planets in the sky makes studying about the solar system much more fun and real.
Hope you’d enjoy the show as much we enjoyed making it.

We had a little preview with the young Pre-Schoolers from JBCN international School, Oshiwara. And We were rejoiced to see the overwhelming response from them.

STARGAZERS are set to enjoy the spectacle of a comet zooming through the skies this weekend.
The stunning Comet 45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdušáková will appear gracefully green in the night skies.
This short period comet of 5.25 years will pass 0.08 AU (12,430,000 km; 7,720,000 mi) from Earth on February 11, 2017.
Its a rather faint object with the magnitude of +7 so a good set of binoculars or probably a telescope would be advisable for better Comet-gazing experience.
Discovered in December 3, 1948 and named after Minoru Honda, Antonín Mrkos, and Ľudmila Pajdušáková.
Its a treat to all the experienced observer and astrophotographer. Soon It’ll retreat into the deeper space of our solar system. So don’t miss this au revoir !

JUNO IS APPROACHING JUPITER

As Juno approaches Jupiter NASA/JPL is excited to share the images acquired by JunoCam.

The JunoCam imager on NASA’s Juno spacecraft snapped this shot of Jupiter’s northern latitudes, as the spacecraft performed a close flyby of the gas giant planet.
Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and largest planet in our Solar System. Its 1300 times the size of Planet Earth and its mass is twice of all the other Planets combined.
There are many theories about the origin of planet Jupiter. One theory suggests, Nearly 5 billion years ago a Star in our galaxy exploded. This explosion caused the nearby cloud of Dust and Gas to collapse and flatter into a spiral disk.
Most of these gas and dust collected into a hot dense core, making it our Sun. The remaining debris made the rest of the bodies in our solar system, Almost which the majority of the debris came together to form the gas giant planet Jupiter. Its believed that amongst all the planets Jupiter many have formed first.
Because of its enormous size and gravity, it may have influenced the formation  and evolution of the bodies that orbit our Sun. Unlike other planets, the composition of Jupiter remained unchanged since the solar system’s formation.
Like a time capsule it can help us understand the origin of our Solar system, formation of Earth and most basic foundation of life as we know it.

The size & age of the cosmos are beyond ordinary human understanding. Lost somewhere between immensity & eternity is our tiny planetary home. In a cosmic perspective, most human concerns seem insignificant, even petty. And yet our species is young & curious & brave & shows much promise.
