About Ticci Toby.. as much as I love the writers and fan base. I think they tend to forget he’s Biromantic. Aka both bi and asexual, and as someone who is also asexual it gets a bit annoying whenever someone labels Toby as hyper sexual or loves to get laid. Not to mention the creator who wrote Toby was most likely a minor at the time.

All in all I’m not saying YOU did anything of course! But more ace representation would be great as it’s not a lot of them. Like imagine Toby already with a body that he feels disconnected with due to mainly CIPA, Tourette’s, schizophrenia and depression, how interesting wouldn’t it be if Toby was struggling with his own repressed emotional development? Including the sexual phase many teenagers had. How he wouldn’t feel comfortable with sex but not an antisex person, it’s just another thing he felt disconnected with, and wouldn’t it be more interesting to have a reader who helps him work through that trauma and internalised doubt?

hello! thank you for the ask, i love discussing things about characters.

first thing, hi i am asexual! its really nice to see others like us in this space :)

second, i don’t remember toby being asexual, which if its true, thats very cool!! again, its always nice to see it represented. however, you can imagine hes still asexual in that way! people experience sexuality in different ways, and toby could still want sex and enjoy it. he can still feel pleasure, and because its one of the few things he can feel, i can imagine him enjoying it. plus, my version of toby is more of a "it doesn't matter about me, but my partner" kind of guy when in love. hes lived most of his life for someone else, so it makes sense for him to enjoy it that way.

however, the idea of it being another thing that sets him apart from the other people his age would be interesting! even around other creeps and proxies, when they discuss ideal types, its just not something he can connect with. toby's the type of guy to go with the flow and pretend, but i think if his partner ever noticed it, toby would talk about it. its kind of an internalized homophobia thing, though i doubt he would put it in those words. his attraction, or lack thereof, makes him different, and therefore makes it wrong.

i feel like he would need some time to think about it if you told him it was okay to not feel that or want it all the time. again, his worth has been attached to what he could do for others, so if you tell him to care about what he wants, it would be hard.

sometimes you still need to stop him and ask if this is really what he wants instead of just what he thinks he should do. he's still a big cuddler, still a big kisser. just.. has to learn that its okay if that's all it is.

he's like, a mediocre cook. not a master chef, but he can make most foods if he has directions

will forget to say he loves you, but its just because he thinks it's just obvious

if you need him to give words of affirmation, he will but you have to tell him

if you ever decide to move in together, it will be into your house/apartment. he would absolutely love the picket fence dream, but you can't have that in a house of creeps. especially if his brother is around.

Liu will put off telling you about Sully until it's too late. he puts off a lot of issues until it's too late. that's his fatal flaw.

NONO I WILL TOTALLY WRITE THIS!!! there's a clear Jason favoritism on this blog and ykw I will indulge it. because of the era, this is pre-curse Jason, and I'm putting him at about 25 here :]

Jason himself is... not entirely wealthy. in no way is the man poor, but he's also not the man who goes to events often. even before he was cursed, he was less than sociable. However, like any good craftsman, he does not miss the chance to pedal his wares.

in this case, he would have to be invited to the place. he likely had been spotted by the reader's family or friend. said person needed dolls of some sort for a new addition to the family, and who better than Jason to fulfill that?

Jason meets the reader while setting up his dolls. he's not the type to be attracted purely on looks, no. The reader would have to be curious about him, asking questions, investigating his dolls. of course, he's used to this, answering the queries quickly. what does he use for hair? where does he get the fabrics? how long does it take to carve such details? all the usual.

what gets Jason hooked is their persistence and how carefully he treats the toys. the reader may ask if they have names, hold them like priceless treasures. and that gentleness extends to Jason. they talk to him with respect, of course, but when they touch him, he's shocked. It's light, it's strange, it's nothing he expected. instinctively, he jumps back, shaking their hand from him. he does not blush, but he is confused. why would he act that way? why would you touch him?

he's invited again to the manor, protective of himself and his wares, until he sees them again. something in him softens slightly, confusingly. they smile and begin a conversation with him, asking how business has been, asking about the dolls, how he's been. Jason wasn't usually treated like this, and he was certainly not expecting them to remember him. they chat with him like an old friend.

when he returns to his shop, he is plagued with thoughts of this enchanting person. nothing gets them to go away, except making a wax doll that looks shockingly like them. maybe he would accept their invitation to tea at their manor. maybe the shop could be closed for one day without hurting anything.
