I usually avoid talking about myself. I like my privacy. Most of the time that causes some bad assumptions and I don't care. But I decided for the #mermaidmadness #outofyourshell post to open up a little. Back in the day I was a fireman with aspirations to join FDNY. Unfortunately a structure fire (not this one) ended my career. Then I became an #HR pro and started my career at Duke. Life was different I felt lost and frustrated and clearly this image shows it. In 2009, on a cold October morning I watched 40,000 people run the @chimarathon 26.2 grueling miles. The Kenyans were flying but the average joes worked their asses off in freezing temps. I was hooked. The athlete in me woke up and as soon as I was able I signed up to run Chicago in 2010. I trained hard and ugly. I had no clue what the hell I was doing. But I felt alive. I felt reborn. Fast forward to summer of 2014. I decided it was time to make a big change career wise. So I went for it. But with a major risk came a major disaster. A risk which turned my life upside down. I'm currently in the gray and like my first marathon trying to find my wheels. Trying to piece the puzzle together. I'm not sure what the future will hold. But I haven't lost that swagger. #finsup for A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown. #IamUnbroken I am #corporateathlete I know j have gas left to cross that finish line.
