Remember when someone was like “haha the funniest thing tumblr could do right now is make it so you get a badge for looking at 600 posts instead of what twitters doing lol” and then they did it. That was pretty awesome. I think the funniest thing tumblr could do right now is stop flagging trans women’s post as sexual right fucking now lol and fix prev tags and get rid of the fucking bigots and racists and nazis for once haha and also apologize for this shit. Wouldn’t that be pretty funny lol haha it would be so funny if they did this

obsessed with those stone stairs and archways in the middle of the woods that remain standing after the rest of the building has fallen to ruin

Things on my grandpa's dirt road farm that was actually pretty creepy in hindsight
There was always a specific spot where anything mechanical would shut down. Cars would stall and a four wheeler would cut off
A graveyard that didn’t belong to our family sat beside the home. We don’t know the names on the gravestones
There was a skeleton in the forest. We don’t know who passed there
A home at the beginning of the road burned down but the chimney remained. I swear we could see smoke coming from it sometimes
There were figures in the wheat fields sometimes but they were too far away to see. Grandpa said they were neighbors and we should never talk to them
My great grandmas house sits next to my grandpa’s, abandoned, and we were told to never go in there
Sometimes at night when I couldn’t sleep, I could hear the sound of clacking coming down the road

“It is women who love horror. Gloat over it. Feed on it. Are nourished by it. Shudder and cling and cry out-and come back for more.”

living in the countryside really strikes the fear of god into you at the most random moments. you’ll just make eye contact with a cow or stare for too long into a brook and all of a sudden you’ll think something like “these are old bones and i am merely a passing occupant” and then you have to go and put the kettle on to cope

florida:,.’; . things are scurrying. you can’t tell what they are, but they have many legs. crabs, perhaps? no - they are smooth and scaled - not lizards. maybe centipedes. they are smaller than centipedes. . they cover a log set adrift. from a distance, it appears as a rock. you approach. the creatures abscond in waves. it is not a rock. . your condominium has so many residents. the woman on the phone cannot tell you how long the woman in room 208 has lived here. you meet her in the hall. she seems nice. she smells like rubbing alcohol. . a sound reverberates through the building when the sky is dark. a pulsing bass. perhaps the air conditioning units? you don’t know. you can barely sense it through the artificial looping sound of rain you put on for the night. it’s still there - the pulse demands your attention. . you walk along the waterline on the beach. you could’ve sworn you saw something sticking out of the damp sand. you don’t dare dig. the glassblower near the dock never did tell anyone what happened to his forearm.
