show me how to love | san
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: san x neu!reader word count: 1.5k genre: fluff, maybe a bit of angst? warning(s): not proofread, mentions of acephobia summary: you're asexual and in love with your best friend, so you write him a letter confessing your feelings credit: divider and banner
Tumblr media
"san, i'm asexual." you had said with a trembling voice as you spoke through the phone, your heart pounding in a way it never had before. you had known this about yourself for years, but a constant barrage of invalidation and disbelief had forced you back into the closet. each failed attempt at dating or opening up about this aspect yourself, where no one seemed to understand your asexuality, had made you no longer want to open up about it. but now, you had just told your best friend of three years, san—a gamble you never thought you would take after your past disappointments.
a nervous laugh came from the other end of the phone, causing your stomach to twist with anxiety in an uncomfortably familiar way. did he think badly of you as well? but before you could even begin to regret telling him, his voice, warm and reassuring, broke through any fears you might have had. "thank you for telling me, y/n," he said, his voice filled with genuine kindness. it was as though you could see his comforting smile through the phone just from the way his voice sounded. all the tension in your body melted away the moment you realized that san was accepting of you wholeheartedly.
that conversation had happened months ago. and now, a tear slid down your cheek as you held a freshly written love letter in your hands. his acceptance of you was a bittersweet memory as you prepared to take another gamble—confessing your romantic feelings to san. all you could think was if your romantic feelings could be enough for him, even despite your asexuality. you wiped the tear before taking a deep breath, reading over the letter one final time, wanting to ensure every word of your letter properly expressed the depth of your feelings that you felt for this man. you folded it neatly, now wondering how you were going to give it to him.
standing outside of san's apartment, a familiar nervous flutter reoccurred in your stomach as you silently practiced just how you were going to go about this, the love letter safely tucked in your pocket. why was this so difficult? no matter how much you had scripted in your head what you wanted to say and do, it felt as though you were too nervous to go through with it. however, you had made it this far along in your plan, so you felt as though it had become too late to turn back now. you were going to confess, no matter how difficult it got, even if the letter had to do all the talking for you. while you waited for san to answer, you discreetly slid the letter into the book.
you gave san a shy smile when he opened the door, greeting him the way you always did by giving him a hug and asking how his day had been. you could tell he was exhausted from the long hours rehearsing. you didn't want to keep him for long, so you handed him the worn copy of "even if this love disappears tonight."
"here it is," you said as you watched san's light up, carefully taking the book from your shaky hands.
"ah, thank you so much!" he said happily, "i hope you enjoyed reading it."
"i did," you responded with your smile growing, "it was such a good read, i struggled to put it down."
"see? i told you that you would!" san said excitedly, "i'm so glad you liked it, we got to discuss this together some time!"
you watched him put the book into his backpack, assuming he would read it again when he had time between practice, rehearsals, and whatever ateez-related events that filled his busy schedule. you smiled, knowing he would get the letter eventually, though you couldn't help but feel a little bit sad as you realized that you wouldn't get to see his reaction. perhaps it was for the best, as delivering the letter was nerve-wracking enough. could you handle watching him read it right in front of you?
san had picked up the book while in the car to their destination for a fan call event, deciding that a good book would help pass the time. as he noticed something was in the book, he had assumed maybe a scrap piece of paper had gotten wedged between some of the paged when he placed it in his backpack the other night, but he was surprised to discover it wasn't scrap paper. at least, it didn't seem to be with the way it was so neatly folded. was this your way of having a makeshift bookmark and you just forgot to take it out when you returned it to him?
his fingers brushed against the folded piece of paper, his curiosity getting the best of him in that moment as he pulled it out from the book. with the book forgotten about for now, he began to unfold the paper, his mind flooding with hundreds of guesses as to what could be on this piece of paper. a love letter, was not amongst those hundreds of thoughts. so, it was safe to say he was surprised when he began to read the first few sentences of your heartfelt letter to him.
dear san,
there has been something i've been wanting to tell you for months, but i never had the courage to say it to you directly. but now, with a pen in my hand, i have the courage to express everything to you...
san continued reading the inked confession, soon understanding not only the depth of your emotions, but the courage it took to write this and find a way to discreetly give it to him. now that he fully understood just how you felt, a flood of thoughts and memories filled his head. small things were now making sense to him. the moments you shared together—late night conversations, laughter over inside jokes, the way your eyes met across crowded rooms—they all now took on a whole new meaning.
he carefully folded the letter back up, the racing thoughts and emotions in his mind unable to stop. he felt an immense amount of gratitude for your honesty and vulnerability, now with a newfound appreciation for the connection you two shared. he was deeply touched by this letter, even if you didn't get know it.
he knew he needed to respond to you, he just had to. he set the letter back in the book, putting it into his backpack before he glanced at his phone, considering how to approach this. he wanted to do it with the sensitivity and respect your confession deserved, understanding this was a big moment in your guys' relationship. it was the moment that determined so much about how you guys proceed.
he glanced at the time, knowing he wouldn't have time to hold such an important conversation with you. he could say he read the letter, but he didn't want to leave you hanging after telling you that. he wanted the time to talk with you, hear your thoughts and feelings all over again, and be able to express his feelings in return; all in real time. not over the course of a few hours or even a couple days. with a defeated sigh, he accepted his schedule had to come first, but he made a mental note to respond the moment his chaotic day was over.
and that's what he did. as soon as your phone buzzed, you immediately checked the notification, your heart skipping a beat as you see it's from san.
y/n, i read your letter. i just got done with my schedules and wanted to reach out to you when i had the time to give you my full attention.
your words mean so much to me. i've always deeply valued our friendship, and i still do. your words have made he realize our love goes beyond just physical attraction. the way your laughter lights up the room, the way we have always understood each other without saying a word, and so, so much more. i respect your identity as an asexual person, and i want you to know that my feelings for you are rooted in a very deep emotional connection. i know your sexuality changes a lot for you in regards to a relationship, but i'm willing to learn and explore those changes with you, for us. our connection is special to me, i'm so grateful to have you as a part of my life, no matter where our feelings take us. so if you want to give this a shot, i'm more than ready to be yours.
and those words were just the beginning. it took some time, but you and san have navigated all the aspects of being in a romantic relationship without sex being a part of it. you never knew such a thing would be possible for you, but you just got lucky to be with such an accepting, loving, and understanding man. and you couldn't be happier with where the both of you are now, as you kissed san on the cheek while the both of you were watching a movie together on the couch, simply enjoying the things about each other that you both did before, but now with a newfound appreciation and admiration for the relationship you both have together.

hoodie thief | hongjoong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: hongjoong x male reader word count: 625 genre: fluff, secret relationship warning(s): not proofread summary: hongjoong loves wearing his boyfriend's clothes, but you're running out of clothes to wear. got this idea from an otp prompt generator credit: support banner + dividers
Tumblr media
hongjoong found himself rummaging through his boyfriend's closet yet again, a glint of mischief in his eyes as he realized that he might have to start sneaking articles of clothing back to his dorm to make room for new ones. it's not like you would mind anyways, as you adored seeing him in your clothes, especially when they were oversized on him. at first you were terrified of fans putting the pieces together, but you learned to love the thrill of hongjoong wearing your clothes while keeping your relationship a secret. it felt as though each time he wore something of yours out successfully without question, it was a sort of trophy for how well you guys were staying secret about the whole thing.
one evening, your ac had decided now was the time to be broken and be stuck blowing cold hair throughout your room. it wasn't going to be fixed until the next day, so you needed something to keep you from freezing into a giant block of ice overnight. you rummaged through your closet in search of your favorite hoodie, only to see it wasn't there. actually, now that you thought about it, you had just done the laundry and you only had a third of your clothes left.
hongjoong was sitting in his room watching tv when he felt his phone buzz besides him. a big grin spread across his face seeing the notification came from you. the familiar glint returned to his eyes when he saw you were inquiring about your hoodie.
"hongjoong," you texted your boyfriend, "do you happen to have my hoodie over at the dorms with you?"
"which one?" hongjoong replied, a little giggle slipping out as he began to figure out which hoodie you might be asking about.
"the black one with the roses."
"oh, that one! i still have it, yeah. why?? you're not cold in summer, are you?~"
hongjoong was only teasing, assuming you were just being curious. he didn't realize that you would actually need a hoodie in the middle of summer. when you realize he still had it, you were not only impressed he managed to sneak it out of your apartment, but also that you never noticed sooner. you sighed softly and shook your head, unable to stay mad at him.
"well, the ac at my apartment won't turn off and i need something to keep me warm until it's fixed tomorrow." you explained.
"oh." came hongjoong's reply, "i can drop it off right away, don't worry!"
a pang of guilt hit hongjoong as he grabbed the hoodie, his wallet and keys; heading out to return your hoodie to you. he knew you would protest in fear of someone seeing him, but he assured you that he knew what he was doing. if he ran into any fans, he would simply tell them he was having a late night walk. while he didn't mean to leave you in a situation where you would be suffering like this, he felt guilty and couldn't let you sleep in your apartment cold. he figured the comfort of your favorite hoodie with scent on it held more warmth than any spare blanket you may have laying around.
he knew he made the right decision the moment he saw the smile on your face. not only were you happy to see him, but also that your hoodie was safely returned to you. not that you had to worry anyways, hongjoong took care of this hoodie like it was the most precious thing on the planet, because he knew how much it meant to you. and his scent on it definitely felt comforting as you could now comfortably rest in your apartment, even with the broken ac.

sweet teeth | jeno
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: cg!jeno x fem!reader word count: 243 genre: fluff, drabble warning(s): not proofread, sfw age regression summary: ice cream date with jeno! credit: divider + support banner
Tumblr media
"hold my hand, princess," jeno said sweetly as he gently took your hand, beginning your guys' short walk to a nearby ice cream shop. one that the both of you had been planning on visiting for a while now. with jeno finally having a day off, he figured it would be the perfect little date to take you on, especially since you've been regressed all day.
upon entering the ice cream shop, you couldn't help but feel excitement upon seeing all the different flavors and toppings they had to offer. you wanted to have one of everything, but jeno would never allow his princess to have that much ice cream. you had to pick just one flavor ice cream. he did allow you to choose three different toppings of your choice.
once you both had gotten your ice cream, you walked back outside to enjoy it in the sun. it was the perfect summer activity with your caregiver. a smile spread upon his face seeing you happily lick the ice cream and nibbling on the cone. at some point, you had gotten some on your cheek and he couldn't help but chuckle as he reached over and wiped it off with his thumb, licking his thumb clean after.
"you're so precious, princess, you know that?" he asked, planting a gentle kiss to your cheek.
you let out a cute, little giggle upon hearing those words, feeling utterly cherished on this beautiful, sunlit afternoon.

safe in his arms | renjun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: cg!renjun x neu!reader word count: 1k genre: angst to fluff, oneshot warnings: not proofread, sfw age regression contains descriptions of abandonment/trauma, nightmares, and panic attacks summary: you wake up from a nightmare and renjun is there to comfort you after as you begin to regress. credit: divider + support banner
Tumblr media
the morning sunlight barely peeks through the curtains and blinds, your young eyes having not yet adjusted to the light after being deep in dream land. once your eyes adjusted, you looked around to notice how dark it was. assuming you woke up before your parents had, you carefully climb out of bed to wake them up and request breakfast, your stomach growling, begging for food to be provided.
upon entering their room, you do not find your parents in their bed. you checked the bathroom, the kitchen, even the backyard. nothing. you couldn't find them anywhere in your dark, seemingly abandoned house. where could they have gone?
the anxiety building inside you tightened your chest, making it difficult for you to breathe, as if someone had grabbed your body was attempting to crush it. you wanted your parents, but you could not find them anywhere in your home. it was as if they no longer existed, leaving you to fend for yourself.
you look at the photographs on the living room wall, noticing the changes in them. all the ones of you or that had included you were gone. either replaced with another photo or you simply were no longer there.
tears blurred your vision as you ran around the house one more time, checking every nook and cranny for your parents. they couldn't have left you alone, right? they wouldn't just erase you from there life, right? you called out for them, hoping they would answer. you screamed for them.
"mom!! dad!!" you continued to cry throughout the house, into empty rooms, out windows, anywhere you could in the hopes of finding them or figuring out where they went. you even entered the scary basement you were always terrified of entering without someone besides you.
SLAM!
you were now trapped in the basement, the door locked. you tugged on the handle, pushed on the door, but your child body couldn't get it to budge. you were surrounded by darkness. you screamed for your parents, your voice going from screams mumbles, despite your attempts to scream for help. and then something covered your face, cutting off your access to the air. you were frozen, unable to move or scream as you began gasping for air you just couldn't inhale. it felt you were struggling for a while before everything went quiet and black.
and then your eyes shot open. it took you a few moments to process that you had a nightmare and the whole thing hadn't actually happened. however, even the fact it was all a cruel trick played by your subconscious, that didn't calm your breathing. as you rapidly brought air in and out of your lungs, you could sort of process the bed besides you shifting as your boyfriend, renjun, had woken up.
"hey, are you okay?" he asked, putting a gentle hand on your arm.
through tears, you shook your head as you could only sob, words unable to leave your mouth in this moment. renjun carefully sat up and helped guide you into his arms, where he held you. his hand gently went under your shirt, rubbing your bare back in an attempt to ground you back to reality.
"take deep breaths, love. in for four, out for four." renjun spoke softly before pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head.
after a couple minutes, he noticed you began to calm down. a couple more kisses to the top of your head, some deep breaths, and comforting back rubs, you were now only silently crying. renjun was aware of the fact you typically regressed after these sort of nightmares, so he gently whispered "it's okay, little one. i'm right here, nothing can hurt you now."
renjun continued to hold you close, his soothing presence sending you deeper into your regression and easing your distress. he rocked you gently, quietly humming a lullaby in the hopes of comforting you enough that you felt you could safely fall back asleep. he reached over to grab your favorite stuffed animal from your side of the bed, handing it to you so you could hug it for further comfort.
"how about some warm milk and a story?" he suggested, knowing little things such as that would provide further comfort for you.
you softly nodded your head, sniffling as you held your comfort object close. renjun carefully got up off the bed before he lifted you up with him. he carried you to the kitchen, carefully setting you on the floor as he prepared some warm milk for you. once it was done, he gave it to you in your favorite cup, watching as you drank it carefully, keeping your stuffed animal hugged in your arms.
after your cup was empty, he carefully carried you back to the bedroom. he sat you on the bed, wrapped you and your stuffed animal in your favorite blanket, and went to find a book to read. he came back with "how do dinosaurs say goodnight?" smiling when he saw how excited you got seeing the book. he sat besides you and opened it up, allowing you to see all the illustrations that accompanied the story.
his soothing voice read the silly tale of how dinosaurs say goodnight, your little giggles at their silly shenanigans bringing a smile to his face as he continued to read.
by the time he finished the book, he noticed you were not only calmer, but happier than when you first woke up. after planting a gentle kiss to your cheek, he asked if you were doing better.
"much better!" you responded happily, "thank you."
"always, little one, you know i'll always be here to protect you," renjun reassured. "now how about we get you back to bed? i'll say with you until you fall asleep."
the blanket was carefully laid on top of you after you laid down and were in a comfortable position. he kissed your forehead, then your stuffed animal's forehead. he laid down besides you, carefully wrapping his protective arms around you, gently petting your hair as you slipped back into a deep sleep, hoping that this time, your dreams are more happy and comforting, allowing you to have a restful sleep for the rest of the evening.

Tumblr media
you found out from a friend he has someone else now, a year and a half after he ghosted you. they're married. you never confessed your feelings to him, so why are you mad, jealous, and hurt in a cursed storm of emotions? is it the regret of not being honest? the betrayal after you thought he would want you to be a part of these major life events? it doesn't matter. the bottle in your hand replaced your earlier tears as you look back at all your messages together. there's no going back, it's time to grieve and move on. the pieces of who we were | seongjoong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: seongjoong x fem!reader word count: 535 genre: angsty fluff, comfort fic, scenario warning(s): not proofread summary: your best friend broke your heart, but your true friends are there for you. inspired by this prompt by @soprompt
Tumblr media
"i should have expected this," you said through tears.
the dimly lit living room couldn't hide the tears streaming down your face as you feel the weight of hongjoong sitting besides you, his hand rubbing your lower back in a comforting manner. seonghwa entered the room with a cup of tea. as your hands held the mug, you couldn't help but think how the warmth of the tea was just as warm as these twos' hearts.
the cushion of the couch sinks besides you as seonghwa carefully takes a seat besides you. he took note of the genuine sadness etched across each of your features. hongjoong could see it as well.
"how could you have expected this?" hongjoong asked gently, "he never gave you a reason to suspect he was that type of guy."
he was right, he never did give you a reason to believe he'd break your heart in this way. he was always so open, honest, kind, and understanding of you as a person. so it was definitely a shock he not only ghosted you like this, but also kept this from you for over two years.
"i thought he was different," you confessed.
"sometimes people hide their true selves really well," seonghwa spoke softly, "you have a right to feel everything you do."
"i shouldn't be so jealous of a girl i never met-"
"it's normal with this kind of heartbreak," seonghwa cut you off, speaking in a motherly way, "especially with how deeply you loved him."
tears continued to fall as you took a careful sip of your tea before setting it on the coaster. your shaky hands pulled away from the warm mug to sit in your lap, only to have one held by seonghwa.
"i put so much effort into those letters for when he came back. now, it feels like each one is a painful reminder of a thing we'd never have.
neither could find the words to comfort you, as their hearts ached for you. a heartbreak like this isn't something one encounters everyday, let alone see someone go through the emotional storm it causes. regardless, they wanted to be there for you as you processed what you learned about this man.
"it's okay to grieve," hongjoong said.
"take your time to get through this," seonghwa added before pausing, "there's no rush to get over him, hun."
you could nod, acknowledging what the both of them were telling you. as you felt hongjoong to continuing with the comforting back rubs, you hear him softly speak up.
"this could be the start of a new beginning. you're a sweet girl. you'll find someone else who you can give your love to. someone who will love you for the loving human being that you are."
seonghwa nodded in agreement, gently squeezing your hand. while that didn't cure you of your broken heart, it gave you a glimmer of hope. you didn't have to get over this overnight, and you most certainly will find someone if these two think you're so worthy of such love and kindness.
and even if you never find love, you have the love of your two, new best friends right here. forever and always.

streaming love | mark lee
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: streamer!mark x fem!reader word count: 727 genre: fluff, imagine warning(s): not proofread summary: mark finally admits his feelings for you on stream, assuming that you're not currently watching.
Tumblr media
mark sits in front of his makeshift stream set-up in his small apartment. in no way was he a professional nor did he have a large audience. his streams were just for fun, which he started to help y/n socialize more and have fun. his streams mainly consist of him conversing with his small audience, but he does sometimes play guitar for them or spend the stream discussing fun topics together. his audience jokingly ships the two of you together, as it's not uncommon for new viewers to assume you're a couple. he regularly sees comments such as "where's your girlfriend?" or "how's y/n?" when you aren't a part of the stream, which melts his heart. he adores knowing how much his viewers love you, especially when it's you with him.
no one in mark's life knows of his feelings for you. it's a secret he's kept for years, ever since you both graduated college together. no matter how much he tried to confess his feelings for you, the courage was never found, leaving him to sit back and watch you go out on dates and console you if you got your heart broken. he always told himself one day he will be the one to show you true love, and for years he couldn't find the right moment to do it.
finally, he accepted he needed advice.
in a late night stream, mark attempted to be vague when explaining his situation. however, his audience was not easily fooled, immediately realizing he was talking about you. it was embarrassing at first, but after some reassurance that they were supportive, he had felt a bit more at ease. as the chat flooded with encouragement, he felt more comfortable to explain his feelings for you. "i don't know man," mark said as he couldn't make eye contact with the camera, "i want to make it special, you know? it's what she deserves." as he watched the chat, one of his viewers had inquired as to why he hadn't already told you how he felt. "sometimes, i don't feel like a girl like her would be into someone like me. it probably sounds stupid, but you guys don't even know a quarter of all the things that make y/n so special." mark checked the chat to be sure you weren't watching. he had assumed you would be asleep by now, meaning that the chances of you catching this stream was slim, especially since he planned to delete the stream right after. the late night rain gently tapped his window outside, adding to his dropping mood as he wondered if he was even good enough for you. "she's the most important person in my life and i'm so damn tired of guys breaking her heart, you know? i want to show her true love, but how can i do that if i can't even be honest about my feelings? like, do i give her chocolate, flowers, or just go for it? like what makes a confession special?" mark looked over all of the chat's advice, opinions, encouragement, and overall support. he truly felt he had connected to his audience in this moment. he had found his people, who not only loved his content, but him as a person. and you as well.
he continued to pour his heart out, talking about his favorite memories with you and how much he adored you.
mark did not know that the whole time, you had been watching the stream. it was one of your sleepless nights, so you decided to catch mark's stream just as he had began pouring his heart out to his viewers. your heartbeat was the fastest it had ever been and you couldn't wipe the grin off your face. it all felt like a dream, but it wasn't.
admittedly, you had liked mark for a few months but never had the courage to confess either. you dated other men to try and forget him, but they just weren't mark, so, they never went anywhere.
as mark concluded his stream to head to bed, you knew you couldn't lose this beautiful moment. ever. so, you shoot him a text.
"hey, saw your stream. please don't delete the stream, i never want to forget the words you said. by the way, i'll accept those chocolates. let's talk tomorrow, okay?"

routine | doyoung
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: ceo!doyoung x neu!reader word count: 1.5k genre: angst to fluff, one shot warning(s): not proofread summary: after his company gained massive success, you're stuck in a rut with him every night. he needs to change.
Tumblr media
he's at it again with his same old nightly routine. just as you finish cooking dinner for the evening, your husband, the successful kim dong young who is better known to the public as doyoung. the founder and ceo of his own game development company.
neither of you anticipated the immense success of his first game, "starhack." it felt as though overnight everyone had gotten their hands on a copy and were posting about it, their progress, and little hacks to some difficult parts of the game. it was so exciting to watch for the both of you, as neither thought your husband's idea for a game combining space adventures and hacking could become so big.
not too long ago, he had just gotten back concept designs for the game and was brainstorming names for the characters. his sleepless nights perfecting his game and finding people to test it ended up being worth it.
however, the thrill quickly died when his responsibilities grew along with his company. just as you thought you would have more free time with your husband, you quickly watched him devote his life to work and his company. before you knew it, a new game was in development that was meant to be a sequel to "starhack," which would have online play unlike the first game.
doyoung returned home for dinner, where he sat down with you. the both of you discussed your days, the meal being interrupted halfway through with an "urgent" business call or email he had to respond to. you had finished eating when he returned to finish his meal. you'd wash your dishes, with doyoung offering to complete the rest.
you put the leftovers in the fridge and went to watch tv or read a book, listening to the sound of dishes clinking together as doyoung gathered his dishes and washed them before washing anything you left in the sink during the cooking process. that's the last you see of him before bed as he would lock himself away in his office to continue working. you two met in bed where you would cuddle before falling asleep, waking up to doyoung's alarm in the morning.
you were getting fed up of this damn routine, but it became your routine as well, you felt you had to stick to it. doyoung somehow did it.
you guys rarely argued about this, as it felt you had to find time in your husband's busy schedule to even argue with him. when you had your final argument, it hit him. it hit him how his life was just work, now realizing how it affected you. he mistook your silence and distance as acceptance of the lifestyle, but it was you becoming fed up with him.
when he locked himself in his office after you had stormed off tot he bedroom, it now wasn't to work the stress away. it was to cry. each tear a symbol of his regret, filled with a new memory of how he neglected you for what he thought would make you happy. work didn't make you happy, it made you resentful. how could he have not realized this sooner?
all this time, he thought his "hard work" was going towards bettering your lives together, but in reality, he was sending your lives in the opposite direction. you never wanted the big house, fancy cars, or expensive wine. you just wanted him and he took that from you so long, you now resented him and his company.
he had to make things right.
he's at it again with his same old nightly routine. just as you finish cooking dinner for the evening, your husband, the successful kim dong young who is better known to the public as doyoung. the founder and ceo of his own game development company.
neither of you expected the success of his debut game, "starhack," to be as big as it was. it felt as though overnight everyone had gotten their hands on a copy and were posting about it, their progress, and little hacks to some difficult parts of the game. it was so exciting to watch for the both of you, as neither thought your husband's idea for a game combining space adventures and hacking could become so big.
not too long ago, he had just gotten back concept designs for the game and was brainstorming names for the characters. his sleepless nights perfecting his game and finding people to test it ended up being worth it.
however, the thrill quickly died when his responsibilities grew along with his company. just as you thought you would have more free time with your husband, you quickly watched him devote his life to work and his company. before you knew it, a new game was in development that was meant to be a sequel to "starhack," which would have online play unlike the first game.

the weight of his realization settled in that evening, causing doyoung to realize that he could no longer walk down this path of neglect anymore. he now had to confront the reality of his actions and how they affected the both of you. he had to make things right not if not for his sake, than for you.
the following evening after work, doyoung had made a conscious effort to stick around the dinner table longer than he had, even after dinner. he had engaged in genuine conversation with you for the first time in months. of course, you were still pissed from the previous night's argument, so you didn't open up as much as he probably wanted, but you couldn't deny you were feeling a small amount of happiness at his efforts.
over the next couple weeks, you could see genuine remorse weighing on his conscious. you were realizing that doyoung genuinely wanted to make things work, so you suggested the both of you begin marriage counseling, as well as doyoung beginning individual therapy. he was hesitant at first, but gave it a try after some encouragement from you.
the both of you began to see improvement after a few sessions. you watched as he discovered a newfound purpose in his life, balancing his work life with his marriage and personal life. he set boundaries with work, cut back his hours, and even took some days off. he learned to trust his team with more tasks, especially in his absence. any time he wanted to dive back into work, he thought of you. he thought about how it would impact you and his marriage.
together, the both of you embarked on a journey of rediscovery, rekindling the flame you two had that had been left flickering in the shadows of his ambitions. Through laughter, tears, and a newfound trust in each other; you confronted the demons that had once threatened to pull you two apart. with each passing day, doyoung found solace in the simple moments shared with his beloved, realizing that true happiness didn't lie in money or achievements but in the warmth of their embrace and the whisper of their love.

heartfelt roommates | xiaojun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: college au!xiaojun x male!reader word count: 2k genre: fluff, imagine warning(s): not proofread summary: your have become enamored by your roommate, but you know you don't have a chance with him. or, do you?
Tumblr media
it started as an ordinary day for xiaojun, just like any other... but by the time the day ended, he would realize that things were about to change in a huge way.
〰・♡・〰
xiaojun was roommates with you, both of you were college students. when you guys had first met, not only were you surprised to hear he had come from china to study in the us, but he also was fluent in english. it wasn't that you didn't think xiaojun would be capable, but by his accent, you would have assumed he grew up speaking both.
"hey, i'm xiaojun!" he spoke excitedly, "i'm your roommate this semester!"
"i'm y/n." you spoke, reaching out to shake his hand. it was so soft, almost like a warm cloud was holding your hand.
the first week of being roommates had its ups and downs. you two needed time to adjust to how the other functioned, your schedules, social lives; almost everything. however, you both were respectful as you navigated sharing a dorm together. at first, it may have been frustrating when someone tapped their pencil too much or was loudly talking on a group call with their friends, but there came a point where you two talked and figured out how to work around these things.
the rest of that first month ran a lot more smoothly. while you two may have been studying different things, you still find time to hang out and bond. whether that was helping each other with assignments, playing video games together, or just going out to enjoy some food; you two were becoming more than rommates were shared the same room.
you two also found ways to enjoy the quiet when the other wasn't around. for example, when xiaojun went out to eat or do something fun with his friends, you'd take this time to study, work on personal hobbies and projects, or just simply relax and enjoy a good book or web comic.
over time, you started noticing the little things about xiaojun that you hadn't noticed before. of course, when you two had first met, it was almost impossible to miss his thick eyebrows. they were a really defining feature of his, but soon you realized other things. the way his face would contort into a multitude of expressions as he played on his playstation or even the love he had for legos. sometimes, just the way he slept got your heart fluttering as if a million butterflies broke free in your stomach, causing your heart to pick up speed while your eyes remained fixated on your peaceful roommate.
〰・♡・〰
on a cool february night, you were quietly studying on your bed. you had a test coming up in a couple days, which some of the assigned reading hadn't yet been completed. as you made highlights in your textbook, jotting down the basic idea of said highlighted text, xiaojun sat in his bed video calling one of his friends back in china.
when you looked over a few minutes later, you noticed he had fallen asleep. his friend was still on call, but they weren't saying anything. xiaojun's chest gently rose and fell in a soothing rhythm, his features soft and relaxed. his hands rested softly on his stomach, his upper half propped up against the wall. something about this sight made you want to kick your feet and giggle like some sort of school girl, but you refrained and just softly smiled. he needed his rest. he was a hard worker. he was juggling both college, a part time job, and spent the afternoon building his pc after class.
when he woke up, it seemed as though he was confused but attempted to play it off. he cleared his throat and just continued speaking to his friend as if he didn't just wake up for a six minute nap. after his call, it seemed as though he remembered he wasn't alone in the room, to which he continued to play it off as he chuckled awkwardly, a hint of embarrassment tinted his cheeks a light shade of pink.
"i'm going to go take a shower." he said, exiting your room and off to do just that, not giving you the chance to speak.
you didn't understand why he seemed so embarrassed. you wouldn't have made fun of him. you might have let out a chuckle, but otherwise would encourage him to rest. however, you just played along to ease your roommate's anxiety.
you never did stop thinking about that night. it was one of those small little memories that made your heart race in a way you hadn't ever experienced before. you felt a small sense of guilt for being attracted to your roommate, but there was some other part of you that yearned for his touch, his voice, everything.
〰・♡・〰
xiaojun was not oblivious to your attraction. well, not entirely. he didn't quite understand those moments you looked into his eyes a little longer than you should have, or the nights where you wanted to know more about his life. it was as if there was something about you that he picked up on subconsciously, but consciously he was clueless to what it was. for a time, he has just assumed him being a foreign student brought more interest to him than those who were born in the us.
while that was true, you also just couldn't get enough of him. he was almost as addictive as nicotine. you needed your fill of his presence, even if he didn't speak a word to you. hell, he could lay in his bed peacefully reading and that was enough to get your fill.
as the semester went on, you slipped in extra compliments here and there when you two did something together. you praised him more as he began to understand some of the concepts he was learning in his classes. you even bought him food to surprise him a couple times after a stressful week.
the more he talked or did anything really, you become more and more enamored by xiaojun. you struggled to get your eyes off him at times, causing some of his friends to joke that you liked him. considering you weren't a woman, xiaojun would brush it off and deny these claims. he didn't think men couldn't like other men, he just didn't think that another man could fall in love with him of all people.
xiaojun would go on quite a few dates with girls from campus, but it seemed as though they never panned out into anything more. though, it didn't seem to discourage him from trying again. even when things did not work out, you could hear some girls from your classes gushing over him. it made you slightly jealous they had more of a chance with such a gorgeous individual, but you understood that this is the way the cards are dealt.
〰・♡・〰
one night, xiaojun had laid in his bed, talking to a friend of his. as their conversation went on, he began to recall all the moments you two shared. he slowly realized the way your guys interactions had changed, especially over the last couple months. to him, you two had seemed like very close and affectionate male friends, but his friends always picked up on something more coming from your side of your shared interactions.
as he continued to recalled various compliments, kind gestures, and many other things he's subconsciously picked up on, xioajun then began to wonder if perhaps, what his friends were saying was true. though, he didn't know how to approach the subject. what if you were just a very affectionate guy who had no interest in men and he was completely misunderstanding you?
"hey, y/n?" xiaojun asked, breaking the silence in your dorm room.
"what's up?" you asked, looking up from your book.
"i apologize if this comes off the wrong way, i'm just curious." xiaojun started, "are you always this affectionate with your other friends?"
this question caused your heart for a second, making you worry perhaps you were becoming too obvious or making him uncomfortable.
"oh yeah, if it makes you uncomfortable, i'm sorry. i can tone it down if it really bothers you-"
"no! it's okay!" xiaojun said with a giggle, cutting you off from finishing the sentence. "really, it's okay. i was just curious is all."
you nodded and went back to your book, hoping he didn't realize how bright red your cheeks were becoming. it felt as though someone had set them on fire the moment you fully processed his question, revealing what he had picked up on over time.
a few days later, on the way back from the dining hall, xiaojun asked another question.
"i know we haven't known each other for long, but i can't help but think that there's something different to our relationship. i feel like you look at me different than when we first met."
he then stopped and stood in front of you in the empty living area outside the rooms. everyone else was having dinner still, but you guys finished early to enjoy some games before you both had to get ready for bed, so it was just you two in this area. you looked into his eyes, unable to look away although you desperately wanted to avoid his curious gaze.
"i was just wondering, if maybe there was maybe something more between us?" he asked, completely catching you off guard. now, your eyes were darting from left to right, to the floor and back at his eyes. you bit your lip nervously, attempting to find the word for your answer. ultimately, you decided to confess. if he rejected you, perhaps it would make the process of moving on easier. it would be painful, but maybe that's what you needed to move on.
"xiaojun," you began, "there's something i've been wanting to tell you, for a while now. i'm not sure how you will take this, but... i've developed a crush on you. i tried to keep it to myself, but looking back, i guess i just became more obvious over time. i just really like you, you're a dream in every way possible."
xiaojun just stood there for a second, not sure how to react. his expression didn't show he felt any negative emotions towards your confession, if anything, he was a bit confused. while his suspicions were proven to be true, he wasn't really sure how he could have been so oblivious even when everyone had been telling him this was the case. he then smiled, almost every one of his features showing just how awstruck he was at the news.
"you really feel that way about me?" he said, his eyes sparkling more glitter.
you nodded shyly, your eyes once again darting between his gaze and the floor beneath your feet. you cheeks turned red along with your ears, a faint smile spreading across your face. you felt dizzy from the emotions swirling around inside you.
"i really like you."
"do you want to see if we work as a couple? just try it out and see how we feel afterward? i don't want to make things awkward between us, but i can't stop thinking about the chemistry we have. i feel like we could really be great together…"
your smile was no longer faint, now a wide grid as you excitedly nodded. upon agreeing to this offer, you both hugged for a moment, taking in the way you both seemed to perfectly fit into each others' arms. all your senses took in the other. their smell, the fabric of your clothes, the way you both seemed to have such relaxed breaths despite your hearts pounding. it felt so perfect for this moment.
you both headed back to the dorms to play video games as planned, this time hand in hand. neither of you could believe what had just happened, and just how easy it said to say these things to each other. how easy it was to feel this way around another person. it was like a romance novel, but this was a true.

slumber symphony | yangyang
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: little!yangyang x neu!reader word count: 561 genre: fluff, drabble warning(s): not proofread, anti agere dni, sfw interactions only summary: when yangyang is sick and falls asleep on top of the blankets, it's up to y/n to tuck him in so he can rest comfortably inspired by a prompt from this post by @urfriendlywriter
Tumblr media
from the moment that yangyang woke up this morning, it was evident that he was unwell. his eyes lacked the usual spark of excitement, appearing glassy and exhausted - a stark contrast to the eyes you were used to seeing in the morning. this disparity was even more pronounced, particularly when he woke up regressed. in fact, his eyes even seemed watery, clearly irritated from the illness.
his fussiness was another clue, as he seemed determined to remain under the warm protection the blankets provided his shivering body; no matter how much he was sweating. he grew even more fussy if you tried to leave the bed, wanting you to remain close by for extra comfort.
as much as you yearned to linger in bed with him for the entire morning, the pressing responsibilities as his caregiver eventually pulled you away. with his nose runny and a persistent cough that was clearly beginning to test what little patience he already had; yangyang needed medicine, tissues, anything to ease the discomfort he was currently feeling.
you reluctantly peeled yourself away from the fussy little, the cool hitting you as you left the warmth of your bed. he remained nestled under the covers as you exited the room on the search for things to make your little feel even the slightest bit more comfortable than he clearly was in this moment.
as you attended to him throughout the day, you could see the poor boy was exhausted, especially once the medicine seemed to be easing his symptoms. he did leave the bed once his fever subsided some, requesting some food and to watch tv in the living room with you.
eventually, you had to go buy more tissues for him, seeing as he went through a box within just a few hours. as tempting as it was to have him tag along, you recognized he was in no condition for that, especially considering the winter chill outside. the brisk air would only intensify the flush in his cheeks and his runny nose would likely worsen beyond the current state. you promised him that you would only be gone for five minutes, thankful a store was within walking distance.
upon your return home, it seemed oddly quiet. no tv, no music, nothing. you removed your shoes and coat before tiptoeing to the bedroom, unable to hold back a soft coo when you discovered yangyang fell asleep, clutching his stuffed bunny, asleep on top of the blankets.
now, you knew he might get cold, so you had to figure out how to tuck him back in without disrupting him too much. with a gentle touch, you caressed yangyang's cheek while softly whispering to wake him up, while keeping him at the border of dreamland.
"hey sunshine," you said softly, "can you get up for a moment so cg/n can tuck you in?"
yangyang's eyes fluttered open as he nodded softly, still clutching his bunny. "okay, cg/n."
the delicate dance of tucking yangyang in was done within under 30 seconds, with yangyang falling back asleep almost immediately after thanking you for tucking him in.
you placed a soft kiss to his forehead, which thankfully wasn't as warm as it was earlier. petting his hair a couple times as you wishes him sweet dreams, reminding him that you would be there if he needed anything else.

café conversations | taeyong
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: taeyong x male!reader word count: 1.4k genre: fluff, slight angst, imagine warning(s): not proofread, mentions of enlistment summary: you're in a secret relationship with taeyong, meeting up at your guys' spot to catch up.
Tumblr media
the warmth of your fresh coffee warmed your hands that had become frozen from the cold weather, gradually thawing them as you took this moment to embrace the aroma and the soothing heat. it was about nine in the morning, a few minutes past when your boyfriend promised to meet you here. as you glanced around the bustling cafe, anticipation and a hint of concern filled the air, your mind wandering into different scenarios it could think up as to why he was late. normally, his "late" was right on the dot for the time he gave, but today was different. you understood the idol life kept him busy, however, you were aware this was supposed to be a day off for him. what could be keeping him?
you glanced out the window, hopeful to catch a glimpse of him through the glass, now blurred by the frost that coated it. perhaps there was traffic due to the weather? the roads did appear quite icy when you left your apartment earlier. even the sidewalk was coated in ice that you were slipping on as you walked over here.
taeyong appeared at the entrance of the cafe breathless, looking around for you with those sweet boba eyes. they seemed to sparkle upon seeing you as he skipped over to where you were seated, his smile almost visible through the mask he wore. he didn't have on makeup today, which you noticed despite most of his face being hidden. the acne on his left cheek and his pores just added to his attractiveness; knowing that he wasn't "perfect" just made his genuine charm even more appealing. not just to you, but to his fans as well.
"i'm so sorry i'm late, lovebug." taeyong's said in the sweetest tone, visibly remorseful for keeping you waiting.
lovebug. that pet name that always made you smile and blush like it was the first time he's ever called you that.
when he first bestowed the endearing nickname upon you, it during a chance encounter at the bar. you two were engaged in casual conversation between sips of your beers, when you were abruptly whisked away to spend time with a friend and his girlfriend. admittedly, you found taeyong irresistible even though you barely knew him. his purple hair made him stand out, the way it framed his captivating, boba-like eyes. god, those eyes were as big as his heart. you couldn't help but continue to steal glances at him throughout the evening, watching as he laughed among his group of friends, which you soon found out to be members of his group, nct 127.
it was later in the evening when you were about to head out, your friend and his girlfriend having left half an hour earlier. you didn't know what kept you there, but you felt as though you needed to stay and wait for something. perhaps, this was the universe's subtle way of bringing you and taeyong together.
in the bar's bathroom, as you were about to exit, taeyong entered. the smile that quickly spread across his face, lighting sparkles in those boba eyes and filling the air with a sense of love you never felt before. it was there in that bathroom, where he explained his situation as an idol, the industry, the fans, all of it. you listened, curiosity piqued. this was vital information, provided to you before he asked you out to dinner.
the invitation took you aback. in the bar bathroom? here is where she asked? looking back, it was hard to be offended when you got to witness first hand how crazy the fans can be, especially with their idols being in love or in a relationship. you accepted regardless, wanting to see this sweet man again, even if it was only once more before he disappeared from your life permanently. the excitement boiled over in him as he called you "lovebug" for the first time when he expressed his excitement to see you again.
ever since that night, that was his special nickname for you. it melted your heart every single time, bringing a warmth even the freezing cold outside couldn't extinguish.
"it's alright," you said reassuringly, "i was getting worried, but i'm glad you're here."
"i had someone following me." he admitted, stress evident as he hesitantly glanced over at the entrance. "i needed to lose them before i could come."
that was the one thing you hated about his job. the fans. no, not all of them. the crazy ones. the ones that could ruin his career if they even so much as suspected he was in love with someone, let alone a man. the conservative nature of south korea did make it harder to be openly gay, but when you're in the spotlight, it's even harder. you know the international fans would love him regardless, it's the ones here in korea that terrified you. you sometimes had nightmares of how they might treat you if they found out you exist. what would they do if they felt you were taking away "their man?"
the secrecy of your relationship gave you comfort in knowing they wouldn't know about you. regardless, you never left to meet up with taeyong without a mask and other ways of obstructing your appearance to make it more difficult for them to find you.
you were snapped out of your thoughts when you noticed taeyong's beanie, a hint of a new hair color peeking out the back, prompting a soft giggle to escape your lips.
"what's the new hair color this time?" you ask, internally crying for your poor boyfriend's hair and scalp.
"brown." he said happily.
"no more silver and black?" you ask with a soft pout, that combination being your favorite after the pink and blue.
"no, sadly not." taeyong chuckled, "you did always like natural colors on me the most, though.
"i know, but you pulled off those colors so well! i couldn't get enough of it!"
the amount of times taeyong changed his hair was crazy. every time you saw him, it seemed he got his hair colored to something new. admittedly, you considered making a bingo card at some point to see how many colors this man could have dyed his hair in just a few months. you felt bad at the idea when you found out it was damaging both his hair and scalp to a point he dreaded getting a new hair color. you wanted nothing more than to have some sort of magical healing abilities, able to kiss away all the problems his company caused hm physically.
"how have you been?" he asked
"the usual." you admitted, "work has been kicking my ass."
"the same here." taeyong said through a laugh, "but i love it. i love seeing everyone so happy and enjoying our newest songs. especially since i.. you know."
that damn e word. enlistment. you knew it was coming and that it would make your already secretive relationship even harder to maintain. why couldn't he have enlisted earlier or not have to enlist at all? despite the freshness of your relationship, it felt as though you two had known each other for years. the mere thought of him going away for a couple of years tore your heart into pieces. how could you live without him? true, he could visit you on his days off, but how often would that be? how frequently could he communicate with you? your biggest fear was that you two would discover a freedom he doesn't get with being an idol, allowing your guys' relationship to bloom more; only for it to be ripped away once he's discharged.
"hey." taeyong said gently, knowing you were getting lost in those thoughts again, "i understand it's tough to think about, but we'll make it work. we'll make the most of our time together and i'll contact you as often as i can."
you looked into his eyes, finding reassurance in the words he spoke. his unwavering support made the impending separation a little more bearable. with a tender smile, he reminded you of the wonders of modern day technology, how even if he can't communicate for some time, your guys' memories will always be at the tips of your fingers whenever you wanted.
"our love can withstand the distance." he reassured once more.
you then realized in that moment, that no matter the difficulties, the strength of your bond would be a guiding force through the trials of his enlistment. and the limitations of the idol life.
taeyong, realizing he had to go, apologized for having to cut the date short. you understood, sensing he had a good reason. he planted a quick yet tender kiss on your cheek before he said his goodbyes, making you promise to text him the second you stepped foot into your apartment.
"i love you, lovebug. take care, i'll call you tonight."

library sweethearts | baekhyun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: baekhyun x fem!reader word count: 670 genre: fluff, college!au warning(s): not proofread summary: sharing a candy cane in the library while studying for finals
Tumblr media
hushed conversations, pencils dancing between the lines in notebooks, keyboards clicking and tapping, and the smell of textbooks both new and old. the dim lights create a calm, studious atmosphere for the students coming to read, study, or simply hang out. an occasional sound of a chair creaking, a zipper gliding across a backpack, and footsteps showed majority came to get through finals. whether to study or research a project, something needed to be done. what better place than the library?
in one corner of the library, baekhyun could be found studying for his classes. his notebook filled with different music notes, songs, and notations. although that's what was opened on his spread, he had turned his attention to ethnomusicology. his headphones played a recording of music from mexico, his attention to focusing on the music and what aspects of it make it unique from other countries, his thoughts scribbled onto a scrap piece of paper in front of him.
with a stack of books in hand and a determination to succeed, y/n enters the busy library and looks for a spot to study. scanning the room for an available spot, y/n spots a seat besides baekhyun. while the two have seen each other in the library and exchanged friendly smiles, their interactions at most were brief nods of acknowledgement, a silent understanding of why the two were here. carefully approaching the man who seemed to be very focused on whatever it was he was studying, y/n softly speaks, hoping to get his attention.
"is it alright if i sit here?" y/n asks nervously, hoping the other was able to hear her. her heart races as her social anxiety begins to make her worried she may have to speak up and disrupt the others here to focus on their own challenges of finals week. thankfully, baekhyun did in fact hear her and smiled softly, clearing space for her stuff. y/n silently thanks baekhyun, placing her books down before setting her bag down to take a seat.
the two study in silence for a bit, time flying by, the sun begins to set. students clear from the library in a rush to get back to their dorms or apartments before the streetlights are the only things lighting up the streets. though most of the library's occupants have left, few stayed behind. this included baekhyun and y/n.
as baekhyun decided now was time for a much needed break from his studies, he stretches before reaching into his bag pulled out a festive candy cane. the smell of peppermint filled the air around him as he tore part of the plastic wrap off of it. a mischievous glint in his, he offers one to y/n, catching her off guard. "come on, you've been studying a while." baekhyun said softly, "have a break and eat this."
"thank you." y/n shyly took the treat. as she carefully opened it and began eating the candy cane, she smiled softly, looking back at baekhyun. "it's good, isn't it?" he asked excitedly. she nods in agreement, now realizing how much she needed to take her eyes off all the numbers and formulas she had been staring at. god, her eyes were aching a bit from the torture of staring at her study guide, a silent cry to the universe for her to absorb the information enough to pass the upcoming math final.
realizing the library would be closed soon, the two closed their respective textbooks and notebooks as the final chords of their day came to an end. exchanging smiles and they prepared to leave, a connection could be felt between the two, formed by the shared love of a candy cane amidst the stress inducing thoughts and pressure that came with finals and last week of classes. however, this relationship was going beyond their books, the two bid farewell, a silent agreement was made to try and find each other again for another study session in the nearby future.
