TONIGHT at 7 PM EST I will be doing a special projection mapping live stream where I will be using Lightform and my Epson 7k lumen laser projector to map out a large fish tank! I have been doing these little projection mapping projects throughout quarantine, and all these streams lately inspired me to stream this one! This will be a fun, intimate little hang out session where you can ask me anything while I map out each of the individual elements of the tank with different colors and patterns! Short clip from my set with @erothyme777 for the Featherbed Sessions last week hosted by @therustmusic! I am excited to announce that this full set is now available on YouTube on my channel Actualize Visuals! I worked really hard on this mix all last week leading up to the event, figuring out new and interesting ways to remix the art to match the music, flow together, and amplify the sense of peace that listening to this beautiful music from Erothyme brought me. His music really touched me deeply, especially during this time, and I felt I needed to create an equally beautiful visual experience that would amplify and instill that feeling in others and give them a sense of peace and hope, because after all, isn't that what these live streams are all about? My hope in posting this is to allow that sense of peace that only music and art can instill to be accessible to you at any time, any place. To allow those of you who missed it to be a part of the collective healing that this music has the power to inspire, and those who were there to relive the experience. I want to thank The Rust Music and the Featherbed Sessions for creating the space for all these beautiful collaborations, and I would like to thank @voidtouched_ , @jorgegutierrez226 (featured in this clip), @trentkuhn_art, @aliumeart, @papabeararts, and @_utopianslur for allowing me to use their beautiful art in my visuals. This was really much more than a collaboration between Erothyme and I, it was a collaboration between us all! Which I think is one of the coolest things ever and I'm excited to continue to collaborate with all of you. Tonight is the night!! I am so excited for my set with Erothyme tonight, this is going to be a very special set for me because I am going to be mixing 100% art from my artist homies this set, namely @imcneil91, @jorgegutierrez226, @trentkuhn_art, @papabeararts, @aliumeart, and @_utopianslur! A lot of the set will be done live directly in Resolume using pngs!! I have been wanting to do a set like this for a while (very @stevenhaman.art/@jonathansigner inspired) and I'm so grateful to my good friend @soundboi_ for putting on this event and providing this amazing platform to give me this opportunity and give us all a way to share and enjoy our art during this time! A couple of my favorite moments from my Couchfest set with @glass_crane and @colonymike a couple weeks ago! So many different artists featured here, the first two shots are of @glass_crane mixing some amazing @stevenhaman.art content layered over some awesome @papabeararts content that I am mixing. It was so cool to be able for us to collaborate live together from completely different places. I also got to do a solo set with @thadiceman which was a blast, always love working with this amazing artist and human! Had some fun last week mapping out my Schecter electric guitar using my new Lightform LFC and my Epson 7k lazer projector! Super cool to see all this technology come together to allow me to do something like this. A couple cool things to note about this - the outline of the guitar on the wall and the cool patterns on the right are all just from reflections of the projections off of the surface of the guitar! Also, the light in the middle isn't on, it's just being mapped out, but in the video it almost looks like it's producing the light around it, doesn't it? Really it's just dispersing the light from the projector but it had a really cool effect! What other things do you think I should try mapping out? Been experimenting with some art projection mapping using my new @lightforminc LFC and it's been producing some really cool results! If you flip through the post you will see that there are two pieces being mapped here. The one on the left is very special to me, it was done by my grandmother Carol Connors while she was in art school and I found it when we were cleaning out her house after she passed. I never knew she ever made anything like this, I absolutely love it and had it framed and put it up in a prominent spot in my living room. It is really cool to be able to collaborate with her in a way by mapping out her piece, I wish she could be here to see it! The piece on the right belongs to my roommate David and is by the artist @jakeweidmann, an absolutely incredible calligraphy artist.
