Plainclothes 106 and maskless 106.

The purplish-red bits are meant to be scars, not sure if they look like scars I drew this without reference.

I imagine 106 as being real beaten up and battle worn. Burns, bruises, cuts, scars, you name it he's probably got it at some point.

It's also the reason he doesn't show skin, not because he's self conscious, but because he's tired of explaining why he looks like this over and over.

(Okay maybe he's a bit self conscious but he's repressed it so deep he doesn't know it.)

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR HOTLINE UNIVERSE

I have the basic plot all planned out and I want to run it by yall just to make sure it's coherent

So this is set 2 years out from the end of Future. Steven is now 19 and is living in Empire City. He's in a long distance relationship with Connie who's attending university but they regularly visit each other. Not sure what job Steven will have, I might not even mention it in detail, just saying that he has a job.

I want to start with Steven's forceful admission into 50 blessings. Basically it starts with him getting a voicemail saying he "has an appointment at blah blah blah address." At first Steven ignores it. But then he finds an envelop in his car. He opens it and finds pictures of Connie and Greg, including one of Connie sleeping taken from inside her apartment. Alongside the pictures is a message saying something along the lines of "follow the voicemail, play ball."

Steven goes to the address, its an empty lot with some guy just standing there. The guy is holding a briefcase. Steven goes up to the guy, asks him if he's the one he's supposed to meet. Guy just hands Steven the briefcase and tells him everything he'll need is in there.

Once Steven gets home, he opens the briefcase to find a cookiecat mask, cash, and a pink note that tells him what he'll be doing and what to expect. It goes a little something like this.

"You will be sent voicemails telling you where to go and what to do, completion of each job will result in payment, failure will result in consequences. No extra materials will be supplied, you are to supply them yourself. We know where your family lives. If you go to the authorities, they will be killed. If you tell them about any of this, they will be killed, if you do not do as we say, they will be killed.

Burn this note once you have read it, and remember, Be Discrete."

This scares the shit out of Steven, and he is left with no choice but to comply with their demands. This answers how a (relatively) peaceful guy like Steven ends up massacring Russians by the barrel.

So begins the journey of Steven into even more trauma because damn he really can't get a break.

Eventually Connie's university goes on summer break, and Connie goes to live with Steven in Empire City. This is a bad thing because now Steven has a much harder time hiding his murder from Connie.

She notices him acting weird, going out late at night, weird stains on his clothes that are remarkably similar to blood (because it is) and generally seeming distant from her. After Connie does some detective work of her own (snooping in Steven's car) she finds his mask and silenced gun (oh yeah he has a silenced gun that he stole off a dead mobster)

She confronts him about it, almost stabs him, and Steven explains everything. Connie tells Steven they need to go to the Crystal Gems. They rush over, getting chased by 50 blessings goons (hehe goon).

We'll now switch perspectives to Natsuki. Because I am a cruel god, I've decided to make Natsuki an 18 year old cocaine addict with a drinking problem with serious self-loathing because she's like her abusive father. She also live in Los Sueños (the fictionalized version of LA from Ready or Not)

Natsuki's reason for being a 50 blessings agent is different than Steven's. She hasn't talked to any of the other Dokis since highschool, has no friends, and has no living family, so 50 blessings can't use that against her. She doesn't care if she lives or dies so they can't use that against her. So, what is her motivation? Money. 50 blessings pays well. Well enough to comfortably fund her addictions and necessities.

But she's been doing some digging into 50 blessings, tracing calls, doing investigative work, she even has a cork board full of conspiracy shit. She hasn't gotten far and knows fuck all right now about 50 blessings (which is why they haven't killed her yet I might add) but she's persistent.

I haven't planned out her story as thoroughly, but the plan is she eventually starts figuring out things, big things. She also is forced by 50 blessings to work with 106, at first reluctantly but they grow to genuinely like each other.

Eventually after her and 106 try to kidnap Greg (I'll get to it later) she learns too much and 106 is ordered to kill her, but thanks to the rapport they've built with each other (and the reveal that 50 blessings is actually run by the Syndicate from Trepang2) 106 chooses to defect and they both start fighting 50 blessings.

And finally good ol' Subject 106. His motivations are simple, they aren't threats like in Steven's case, and it isn't money like for Natsuki, he just does it for the love of the game.

Seriously, he just likes hurting people.

He also lives in Los Sueños and most of his time is spent evading the LSPD for his numerous crimes. He isn't discrete in the slightest and is constantly being tailed by the LSPD. So if that's the case why hasn't 50 blessings killed him yet. Well, because 50 blessings is run by the Syndicate (aka the people he was made by and originally worked for before the whole them trying to kill him thing) they're using 50 blessings as a cover so they can still get 106 to work for them without him thinking he's working for them. Clever eh?

Anyway, he teams up with Natsuki, they try to kidnap Greg after Connie and Steven disobey 50 blessings, they fail. He's ordered to kill Nat, he finds out the Syndicate is behind all this and gets pissed, and teams up with Natsuki to fight the Syndicate.

Okay speedrunning the rest of the plot:

106 and Nat raid 50 Blessings HQ in Los Sueños and find out about Steven (he's marked as high value and to be captured alive). They track down Steven, meet with him, almost get killed by the Gems but talk their way out of it.

NOW FOR THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

The ending of Hotline Universe is as such. A Syndicate task force led by the Quartermaster (character from Trepang2) Surround the Gem's house temple thingy and order Steven to surrender. 106 gets a megaphone and tells them to fuck off. They tell 106 they want to talk to Steven. Steven tells them to fuck off. Quartermaster reveals he and the Syndicate know that the Gems are aliens and if they try to escape via the gateway they'll be gunned down on the other side. (this also patches a possible plot hole i thought of, why don't they just escape via the gateway to somewhere where they're not cornered by a bunch of armed men)

Eventually Quartermaster threatens that if they don't surrender now, he'll execute Steven's family right in front of him. This REALLY pisses Steven off, and activates his pink glowy Super Steven powers. He walks out the front door and confronts Quartermaster face to face.

At this point the whole "capture him alive" thing is thrown out the window and permission to kill is granted to Quartermaster.

Quartermaster orders his men to open fire on Steven, he puts up his bubble. Quartermaster orders his heli to open fire on Steven, he puts up a bubble again. Quartermaster orders everything he has to instead aim for the house.

Steven goes berserk.

Next thing you know Steven has grabbed the Quartermaster and lifted him like 70 feet in the air before SLAMMING him into the ground full force. Steven then proceeds to tear the Quartermaster limb from limb and absolutely defile his corpse.

Steven then lifts the lifeless body of the Quartermaster into the air, goes on a speech about how he never wanted to be a killer, and tells the remaining soldiers to stand down or else. These soldiers, after seeing Steven utterly decimate their commander in like 10 seconds, decide to nope the fuck outta there.

The story ends with Steven asking if they'll leave his family alone. 106 is pretty certain they will. 106 and Nat decide to continue fighting the Syndicate and say that if they ever need Steven's help they'll be in touch.

Steven now has even more trauma than before and probably some PTSD, but at least his family is safe, for now.

How I plan to use music in Hotline Universe

Sideways made a good video that covers this but basically in Steven Universe each major character has an instrument or specific sound associated with them. I wanna do something similar in Hotline Universe. I'm not sure how I want to implement it, one idea I had was certain characters are associated with certain artists (ex: 106 is death grips, Natsuki is Femtanyl, ect) or I could just give each character an instrument or like a certain sound idk.

Okay so, Steven Universe x Hotline Miami x Trepang2 x Doki Doki Literature Club x Ready Or Not

Allow me to explain... Also spoilers for all of these properties kinda.

So in my idea Steven is doing the hitman stuff in Empire City after they threaten him and Connie. Alongside that Subject 106 from Trepang2 and Natsuki from DDLC are also agents for 50 Blessings, with them both working in the Los Sueños area (the setting of Ready or Not)

And how it would go is there's an A, B, and C plot focusing around all of the characters. Steven, who's dealing with the trauma and mental strain of being forced to kill and having to hide it from Connie, Natsuki, who's trying to figure out what's going on and get to the bottom of 50 Blessings, and Subject 106, who's just having a grand old time murdering people while evading the LSPD.
