Hello so this is my first time requesting hope you are doing well and are in good health.

I would like to request for a Dazai x reader. Fluff. Like a tooth rotting fluff in a bus ride or sleepy cuddling (up to you which one you want to do). Hope you do this request I will really appreciate it

It was an early autumn evening, the sun was leaving you. You thought about the way Dazai and you took the bus every time he would lose his car keys in one of his multiple suicide attempts…you stopped being annoyed by this because taking the bus with him was just so…peaceful.

This time it was the exact 15th time he lost those keys. You thought about celebrating but thought it would be a bit too much, Dazai and you headed to the bus stop around 6:30pm. You were already wearing pullovers and coats, you liked the cold. Without a word you both stepped into the bus and walked to a good spot. You sat next to the window-you favorite spot- and he sat next to you. The brunette took your hand and just looked at you, his eyes were so astonishing, he looked deeply in love. This man with his bandages with his mysterious past and with his mysterious personality was everything you wanted to have and you were everything he wanted to have. You both fitted eachother just like a puzzle. He opened his mouth :

« - What do you think? Should we eat lobster tonight? » You just realized that you embarrassingly didn’t listen to him for the whole time you just looked at him and didn’t notice that he was talking to you. It took you a few seconds to respond but you replied :

- You’ve been a bad boy, no lobster for you.

- What about crab?

- Not even crab. No meat tonight you’re eating vegetables.

- Why?!

- Do you know why do we have to take the bus today ?»

He pouted. Strangely adorable.

He placed your head on his chest and hugged you. Your heartbeat was getting faster and faster while his was still calm. You felt your cheeks getting hotter and hotter. You loved being in his arms, this feeling of protection-comfort. You felt so safe. But also you were way too in love with this man to be capable to stay calm in his arms. So you did what evertone would do-you pushed him away. And he did what every dramatic himbo would do-he screamed. Everyone in the bus had their eyes on you, you looked at him in shock, like you didn’t do it. He showed a slight smile. You grabbed his arm made him come closer to you, and kissed him. What an intense kiss, you felt his tongue touching yours, and his arms coming to hold you again. You were never a big fan of kissing-especially in public but it was still fun from time to time.

You took your lips off him, he was looking so deep into you you thought he could see your soul. Dazai was mesmerizing but you looked even more mesmerizing in his eyes. He smiled like an angel and when you smiled back he looked like he saw a myriad of angels. He took your hand and whispered into your ear :

« Please at least some crab.»

« - Y/N you can leave me ! I’m begging you, stay. I’m so sorry…

- Dazai…there’s nothing to be sorry of I love you…»

8:14pm

« - Dazai ? You’re not ready yet ?! you said

- For what ? said Dazai

- Have you forgotten ?! My dad…uh I mean my boss invited us to their annual party ! It’s really a big deal, please wear decent clothes ! you said not even looking in his direction

- Oh yeah…you’re right. Are you sure you want me there ? I mean I don’t think i’m the perfect boyfriend for this type of thing…

- It’s not like I have 30 boyfriends ! And I love you just as you are, now get out and get ready. »

You’ve been dating Dazai Osamu for one year now, it was hard at first, because he wasn’t ready for a real relationship. But here we are, you’re presenting him to your parents. Ah yeah, your parents, your father is a CEO and in one year you’ll be working for him, he’s just a “classic” rich dad. Your mother decided to be a housewife, but since your dad could have a worker for everything in the house (cleaning, cooking) she just took care of your brother and you while your dad was working.

« - Y/N ! Where is my bandages ?! shouted Dazai

- Under the bathroom sink in the cabinet, you replied

- What is the party even about ? dazai said (still shouting)

- It’s the anniversary of my father’s company.

- Ill be ready in two minutes you can already put your shoes on ! »

You started to put your shoes on and sighed, maybe it was selfish to ask Dazai to come with you. At least that was your thoughts, you were sitting in front of the door. Suddenly, you could feel arms surrounding your waist, you saw the fingers covered with bandages and just stayed in front of the door for some seconds because of how much you wanted the world to stop right now. You loved him so much, even though you don’t exactly know what he’s doing in life even though he messed around with others girls even though he was a suicidal womanizer, you loved him. You could sacrifice yourself for him, you could do anything for him. You stood up and said that the car (that your father ordered) is there.

9:12pm

The car ride was long, it was almost 9pm when you and Dazai arrived. The reception was a great and big house, wasn’t that much of a deal for you. You took a breath and Dazai took you by the waist, you both entered the house together. If Dazai wasn’t covered in bandages people could’ve thought that you both were models. You saw your parents in the middle of a conversation on the other side of the room, and before they could notice you, you moved Dazai’s hand so he can hold you by the arm. They noticed you and made a sign so you could join them, you looked at Dazai, looked at your parents and looked at Dazai back. You walked in their direction. They immediately smiled (especially your mom) and started asking questions (your mom asked them actually.) :

« - My baby! I am so sorry you have to live alone…Do you still eat well ?

- Yes, mom I do and don’t-

- Oh my ! I see that you have company who is this young boy?

- He’s-

- I am Y/N’s boyfriend, my name is Dazai osamu. Pleasure to meet you.

- What a beautiful name ! My name’s M/N L/N ! No need to answer but my beautiful why are you covered in bandages ? said your mom with and enthusiastic tone

- Oh well i got in a fight…I’m sorry I couldn’t lie to you, I thought that since I am Y/N’s I have to be sincere with you. But I don’t get in-

you were shocked about how easily he could lie, your eyes could easily translate that

- Oh my baby ! I am so sorry, you don’t have to say more…

- How old are you, young boy ? the deep voice was your dad, his tone wasn’t really angry or anything but his voice in general was quite deep.

- I am seventeen, said Dazai

- You look older ! You’re tall. That’s great.

you thought about this one scene in Bad boys 2 where marcus’ told a fifteen years old guy “motherfucker you look thirty” and chuckled

- Y/N what’s so funny ? you dad asked

- Uhm…nothing really…it’s just there’s this scene in Bad boys II and uhm nevermind actually im kind of thirsty. I’m going to the bar, Dazai do you want to come with me ?

- I’m fine there, I want to have a proper talk with your father.

- But i’m coming with you baby!!! said your mom»

9:25pm

You both walked in the direction of the bar and talked about stuff, not an interesting conversation to tell to be honest. You asked your mom why is there a bar in a reception and other stuff.

10:00 pm

« - Where were you ? You took a long time asked your father

- Right, I missed you ! shouted Dazai while giving you a hug

- We are sorry, we just laughed and talked so much…you said

- Well ! Let’s dance ! shouted your mom

- Honey, you know that tonight is classical music only ? asked your dad

- Yeah yeah but we can still have fun ? Y/N is the best dancer and dance for hours !

Dazai’s eyes immediately looked at you in a “WHAT YOU NEVER TOLD ME THAT” way

- Well…uhm…

- Yeah Y/N let’s dance ! You never showed me your dancing skills ! » He took your hand and walked towards the center of the ballroom, looking at his back with his hair not perfectly styled and his black suit you thought that you could have your happy end with him. But you had to realize it, even though you had a lot of hope you knew how Dazai was and that he will probably break up with you sooner than you thought.

10:15pm

You both were dancing, you were shocked of his abilities to learn fast. You told him the steps 10min again and he was almost better than you ! He was enjoying it even, looking at you in the eyes and smiling. You both looked like the perfect couple right now, ignoring the fights, his (and your) emotional issues, ignoring every single relationship problems between you two. You were smiling, in the same way he was. Life felt good for a moment. You forgot about the time passing, that’s why you always loved dancing. Your feet were moving and you were forgetting about everything, especially when his hands are on your waist and he’s looking at you like that.

10:47pm

« - Y/N…

- We’re not good for each other..we both know it

His hands shook while holding your hips.

- I love you Dazai, but do you ?

He took some time to answer the question, his face looked like he was thinking about some kind of regret. Your heart skipped a beat when he opened his mouth. You didn’t want to end this like that, or you didn’t want to be rejected. You arms shook on his shoulders just like him while holding your hips.

- I do.

- Then why did you take so much time to answer my question ?

- Because I do love you, but I had to think before admitting it, I don’t want to hurt you.

- Should we really be together ? your voice was shaking

- I’m not a good boyfriend, I’m not even a good person Y/N.

You didn’t know if he was trying to manipulate you so he can discreetly break up with you or if he was genuine. But you didn’t want to break up so you said what you wanted to say.

- Dazai. You’re the perfect boyfriend for me, I am so happy to spend time with you. I don’t know if you’re a good person but you definitely have a good influence in my life. I love you so much. »

Dazai’s smile looked like his mind was in peace, and that’s when you looked behind him that you saw it.

10:50pm

A sniper, that’s what you saw. A sniper and a man holding it in Dazai’s direction. What could you do. With the amount of people here you couldn’t risk to lose a life, well maybe yours wasn’t that important?

You held your breath for a second, your eyes started watering. You thought “At least my last moment on earth felt like a dream.” You held Dazai’s shoulder tighter. You took a really deep breath and when you saw the guy pressing the trigger you had no other choice but to exchange your place with Dazai’s. You felt the sharp pain of the bullet, entering your back and you could feel the blood already coming out of. You let yourself rest on Dazai with tears rolling down your face. Dazai looked at you in shock, why ? Why did this happen ? You were the love of his life ? Why couldn’t he protect you ? Why did you have to suffer ? He fell on his knees, you fell too. Everyone in the ballroom were frightened.

« - Dazai can you place my head on your lap ?

Dazai was lost, he just executed your request with no thoughts. He was so lost he couldn’t hear everyone in the ballroom. All he could hear was your voice, he couldn’t focus on the women’s screams or your dad running down the stairs. The only thing that mattered was you. And only you. It was only you two in the universe right now.

10:56pm

«- Y/N you can leave me! I'm begging you, stay. I'm so sorry..

- Dazai..there's nothing to be sorry of, I love you.

- Don’t, please, stop, don’t speak you have to keep your eyes open and save your breath !

you kept coughing blood, maybe he was right.

- Let me speak. I love you Dazai. More than anything in the world, and I don’t know if i’ll be able to survive this, but if I don’t..

- You will ! You can’t leave me…Y/N what am I supposed to do without you…

- You’re the best thing that happened to me, I spent good days with you, I love you. I really do. And I know that even in my bad days you’ll be here.

- Y/N…I love you too, everything will be fine. Because you will survive, we will be able to spend another good days together. Don’t leave me please. »

You passed out, everything was pitch black.

the day after, 10:56am

You woke up in a hospital chamber, everything was white. Your sheets were white, your clothes were white and the walls were white. The only that broke that whiteness was Dazai with his black suit sleeping with his knees on the floor and his head resting on your bed. He had flowers with him and took off his coat that was on a chair next to the door. You gently touched his brown hair and sighed trying to exactly remember what happened last night. Dazai slowly opened his eyes to meet yours, when he saw that you were awake he jumped in your arms smiling and giggling. You felt a pain in the back but you didn’t mention it, he took the chair and put it closer to the bed. He sat there and explained everything to you. That the doctor said you were in a critical state and that you probably will take some time to recover. There was some kind of sadness in his eyes, or regret. But you didn’t mention it, you didn’t want him to be even sadder.

5 years later (PRESENT)

6:13pm

You’re now 22, hanging out in some kind of cafe some guy took you, wondering why you’re here. The cafe actually looks great it’s in a big building…you think it belongs to some kind of…agency? Well, the cafe looks really great, the waiters are nice and the architecture is just amazing and now you start to feel bad because you haven’t been listening to the boy in front of you at all- it’s not like he’s mean or something- you’re just not interested. You wish you were. Anyway you’re still there with this guy…trying to focus on whatever he’s talking about…finances maybe? Or some book? You cannot tell but it’s not like you’re care anymore you just lost all ability to concentrate on him-or anything honestly- you’re just spacing out watching some stairs behind him. What a boring date!

6:29pm

Suddenly you see legs appearing in the stairs, you see a chest, he’s wearing a beige coat. You see a neck with bandages, you see his face, his horrible smile, his pretty nose, his mesmerizing brown eyes and his messy brown hair. It’s him. It’s Dazai Osamu. The guy you haven’t seen in years, he disappeared right after the accident. Leaving you behind. He sees you, you see him. Eyes contact. You babble some kind of excuse to your date and runs away, tears messing your vision- and your feelings- didn’t you move on? Two minutes ago he was just someone from the past, but now you’re running out of a café, crying, just because you saw him.

6:34pm

You can hear his steps behind you, so you’re going faster, the steps keep getting faster. Soon you’re running out of breath, you stop near some garden and try to stop crying. You know he’s almost there, he will be able to talk to you and you don’t know what to do, that’s when you feel a hand on your shoulder, the hand becomes arms around you. You noticed the bandages around his arms were still here.

« - Y/N. his calm and sweet voice said

- You can’t do this to me Dazai! you shouted while crying. You left me! I was all alone! Did you ever-

- Please Y/N. I have so many things to tell you about.

- I don’t care! Didn’t you care about my feelings?! I thought you did! But when you left me, oh boy I knew.

- …

- And now you’re going to become mute ?! You know what, that’s for the best because i have a lot of things to say! you shouted while getting out of his heavy arms and turning around. Do you know how hurt I was? Do you ? I bet you left me and stayed with some girl, you left right after i got hospitalized ! For God’s sake Dazai don’t you remember why I was in this forsaken hospital?! I didn’t know if you died, if you just got tired of me or if I did something wrong by protecting you!

- …

- So you’re still not going to talk, huh? Well, I’m going. I don’t have time for this. you turned around and started walking away.

- Y/N! Please, Dazai shouted as he was walking towards you.

- Please, what Dazai?!

he was now right in front of you.

- I’m sorry, I will explain everything, his eyes felt like a book you could read into him-you knew he wasn’t lying.

- I would’ve never left you without a good reason, but I cannot explain now, there’s too much to say. I want you to know that I loved you back then, he paused, and I still love you now. You- »

You kissed him. You couldn’t help it! You knew it wasn’t necessarily the right thing but you missed him so much, he was everything for you back then and he became everything for you once again. Maybe he will be annoyed that you cut him in his terrific talk. He kissed you back, and you wished for this kiss to be eternal.

But everything has to end. Dazai stopped and asked

« - So do you forgive me ?

- After a few others kisses maybe? » You both laughed and kissed eachother again.

You finally had your happy end.
