WIP Update
Tagged by @late-to-the-fandom. Thanks so much! This is great, because I've got a hell of an update. Instead of posting actual lines of text, though, I think I'm just gonna blab about the updates I've made real quick. But to the people I tag, do whatever you want. Go nuts!
Tagging: @thewindowofthesummerhouse, @dogmomwrites, and @bardic-tales.
Update the First:
We have titles now! Working, of course, and I'm still looking to @adrielcastlyre to approve or veto what we've got. These titles are kind of operating on the new-ish idea that we might split our third book in two, since we cover a lot of things in that book. So that's still under debate. And I probably won't use these for tagging purposes until we've got them finalized. Nonetheless, here's what I've got:
P&K 1: Pemoki & Kenacia. May or may not replace the ampersand with the actual word, but I really like the way the ampersand looks in Ovo font, which is what I use for drafting. Centers Catherine and Adriel. You already know the premise for this one. P&K 2: Fledgling's Descent. P&K 3: Stirrings of a Silent War. P&K 4: The Fallen Star of Thaeryvon.
We may also include a spinoff about some of the minor cast of Book 2, but if we do, it's a while away.
Update the Second:
We've finished the first chapter of Part Two of Pemoki & Kenacia, and we've come to the conclusion that our writing style's shifted so much that we need to go back to the first few chapters and edit. So that's what I'm working on currently. I'm cutting a lot of the fluff. So far, the result's something similar in length, but I think that's only because I haven't gotten to the long-winded section about the potato spinner yet, which really doesn't do much except give a sense of setting and reinforce what we already know about Petra and Eva.
I'm thinking I might cut out most of that section and replace it with something more concise.
Update the Third:
We're cementing the arcs and plot threads of Fallen Star. I want to go into more detail about this, but for now, let's just say we're having a lovely time making everyone miserable.
Update the Fourth:
Informally, I'd like to introduce a few characters who actually matter now in a way they really didn't in previous versions:
Hugh Oliver Castlyre: "Castlyre's the only significant trazian scientist of our age . . . excluding me, of course." -Alan Winson Lorenzo Willenton: "He's the unfortunate son of my family's killer; young as he was then, I thought I'd extend him a little grace." -Levi Niacera Djestoviska Oriv: "That fawning bastard? Again?" -Catherine Leures

I’d really just like to see what people guess on this…
Yet Another Silly P&K Guessing Game
Who's ready for another guessing game?
(Everyone's hands go up, because I'm the narrator.)
Marvelous!
Rules are a little different this time. Your job is to try pairing the quotes I give you with my OCs based on your very limited knowledge of their personalities and quirks!
If you guess right, you get to send me a quote of your own. Incorrect or straight from one of your WIPs. I'm not particular. Send it with any information about the quote you think you might be relevant, like the appearance of the OC who says it or any other context you think I might need, and I'll draw it!
Mutuals, you know the drill. All the OCs I have listed below are people I've mentioned at some point or other. Pick one quote to guess. And if you guess wrong, you're probably gonna get a drawing anyway.
Easier Round (Prize: A drawing of your lovely little guys)
Quote the First: "I won't say I didn't mean it; I found it comical, to be honest, watching you gaze at that sandwich as thought it were the only thing on Earth . . . Tell me, is the sandwich more handsome than I am?"
Quote the Second: “Your friend's an ass, is what he is—all wrapped up in a net of pretty manners and idiosyncrasies, but an ass all the same."
Quote the Third: "It will not save us, but it's a trace of hope in the dark. And if I am wrong to place my faith in your kindness, I'll hardly be worse off than the others. I'll live and die like them, as your king sees fit."
Harder Round: (Prize: A drawing + extra clout)
Quote the Fourth: "Don’t soften your words on my account; I know what you think. And I’ve got nothing against travel, so you know, only the idea that it somehow endows you and the rest of your state institution lot with more wisdom and cultural perspective than people like me can dream of.”
Quote the Fifth: "It’s not your face that’s familiar, strangely. It’s your confidence in dealing with me and . . . and that strikingly-colored jacket you’re wearing. Curly little monogram on the lapel, if my memory serves me, but since you’ve got the collar up, I can’t be sure. Anyway, I’d guess you’re the Santel heir’s latest toy. Am I right?"
Quote the Sixth: “Really? First I’ve heard of it . . . but I’m flattered. Care for a drink, fellow corner-dweller?”
Bonus Round (You get two drawings if you get this one right):
Quote the Last: "Is someone there?"
Might tag this with literally everybody I know on this app later depending on whether I get responses. Have a lovely evening! (Or morning. Whichever it is for you.)

Feeling super inspired by @loish ‘s art right now! Beautiful style!!! Also, I’ve been binging Jane the Virgin all day so that I can get through the whole show before they take it off of Netflix! So, here is a study and also a nod to Petra and Anezka.

Experimenting with comic style drawing… this was inspired by the phrase “Don’t drop the ball!” funnily enough. I feel like I could write a character with it now though…

The interesting thing about this is that I can see how my drawing has changed, I can see how I still struggle with facial symmetry, and I kind of like the older drawing more. It’s more interestingly stylized, a lot sharper.
(The photograph does not belong to me ofc, I got it off of Pinterest)

Boom
Heads Up Seven Up!
Thanks to @dogmomwrites for the tag. I PROMISE I'm gonna start tagging you in stuff just as soon as I start finding open tags that look interesting. Coincidentally, I just got back on another writing kick, so I have some stuff to work with.
I'll leave this as an open tag, and also tag @luckadelic, @queerlilchinchin, @j-1173, @rexxles, @writingpotato07, @bardic-tales, and @pinespittinink. Non-mutuals, sorry, I don't know whether you're interested in doing these or not. Lemme know if you're not. Goes for mutuals, too. If at any point you want me to quit tagging you guys in these things, please tell me.
Usually, I try to adhere to the seven-sentence thing. But I'm adding a few more to the beginning just to make it make more sense.
This is from Chapter 6, which I skipped ahead to briefly for reasons. (Unrelated to that, I've finished Chapter four finally.)
Ok, let's go!
Bet he’s Qhironese, he thought to himself. That must be it. All those idiotic smiles . . . and they wonder why we think they’re hollow-hearted.  If Curtis had known Adriel, he’d have known that he wasn’t Qhironese; he was Kuryeizki, and the awkward smiles were a deliberate facade. Adriel hated the war. In fact, he hated Kenacia in general, and was more or less uninterested in the martial exploits of its army. But he knew a veteran's status was a window to respectable Kenacian society. He knew it meant freedom from the thinly-veiled disdain of his neighbors—the schoolboys who followed him through the streets of Thaeryvon, throwing cigarettes and lumps of mud at him from behind crates and alley corners and calling him chibha (whatever that meant). He knew that his custodian work—since that was the occupation he’d chosen when he’d signed up—would be inconsequential in the grand scope of things, but that it would serve as a welcome distraction from the knowledge that his brother Hugh Oliver was rotting away in a prison across the sea with a looming expiration date on his life, and that it would distract him, too, from the uncomfortable feeling that he didn’t really care. But Curtis didn’t know Adriel. So he went on chuckling as Adriel turned on his heel and trotted out of the room.
