Submitted prompt: An Immortal Black Cat

Not sure if this counts as a true salt prompt but here it goes(up to author interpretation to prevent Mary-sueing of the OC)(Can drop stuff as wanted)

A previous Black Cat wielder ends up moving to Paris. Thanks to magical related shenanigans(whether or not it was Miraculous related or not is up to the writer), she is immortal, with the appearance of an young teen around the age of the main cast. She is understandably alarmed when the Bubbler incident occurs, and more so when she starts piecing together that Adrien is Chat Noir.

The problem she sees is that she used to be a lot like Chat Noir when she was first starting as a wielder. She harassed her partner to the point that he snapped on her, and their team bond never recovered. She has regretted it since. Later on, she was a Ladybug as well(not particularly skilled but she was decent enough to get the job done.) During this mess, she had to deal with the exact same treatment from her partner, which made her feel even worse about her behavior with her first partner, especially when she had to kill her partner in self defense when she refused his advances one too many times.

After a few more akuma attacks, she quickly becomes alarmed about Chat when she realizes that he’s way too similar to her past self for her to ever be comfortable with, and her mind is worried as this boy could easily end up like her. It gets even worse when she starts realizing that Marinette is Ladybug, and her behavior is sliding from crushing dangerously deep into stalker territory, reminding her of herself and her past Black cat partner way too much.

Only one issue, she doesn’t want to alert anyone she’s present. Only a few councilors know she exists, and she’d like to keep the Council and Order of Guardians from learning of her existence. (She’s been so determined to avoid the Order less they decide to use her for something, she hasn’t been keeping track of them. As a result, she has NO idea that the Order has been wiped out by Feast. Her belief was that they were merely becoming more isolated as the world got more globalized, global threats that needed the Miraculous were dropping and the Council was growing better equpped to deal with those threats. Even if she did have suspicions, she wasn’t about to go to Tibet to check in case they were waiting.)

Well, she decides that she needs to step in, and hopefully steer these two back onto the right path before it gets out of hand. Only issue is doing so without alerting the Council and (Currently destroyed but doesn’t know it or Wang Fu). She also can’t meet with Marinette less she is transformed about Miraculous Magic. The reason is Tikki is too loyal to the Guardians, and she’d likely inform the Guardian about her. She has no such problems with Plagg, as he could care less about telling Fu.

Not sure where else to go from here…we go into Fix it somehow and possible Adrien Pepper if you really want to fix him, same with Marinette if you’re hoping for some Marinette salt and pepper. I’ll add more in the comments if I can figure out how specifically this OC fixes it.

Clarification: I forgot to mention this in the prompt. Like in Fairy Tail, there’s a magic council responsible for protecting the world from magical threats and dealing with magic incidents. They’re incognito though as a public organization called the Organization of Magical Occurrences and Affairs, supposedly just as a group to help people cope with any losses or injuries caused by supernatural incidents or for people to report supernatural stuff to someone who won’t laugh them out of the room.

They’re like this as they’ve been persecuted a lot by secular and religious authorities during their history. They also worked with the Guardians before they vanished, but couldn’t ever figure out why they vanished.

When Adrien has his outburst and quits being Chat Noir, the ring ends up in the hands of someone new after a crow picks it up and brings it to a human who feeds him regularly. (Crows do that with humans who are nice to them, sometimes.) This person is Célestin Rivage, a trans boy who is an up and coming fashion designer. He’s active on social media calling out the industry’s problem with underpaying workers, using sweatshops, and other awful practices in the fashion industry, someone Marinette follows and thinks is nice but doesn’t have a crush on. She wants to be a sustainable fashion designer who makes things that last and that contribute to the anti-fast fashion movement in France, so she follows his Tiktok and YouTube, uses some of his tips on how to spot poor craftsmanship and signs a garment was made with unethical labor, etc.

Célestin is not sure he’s the right choice for a superhero. As he tells Plagg, he’s got real concerns about if he can do superhero duties, schoolwork and his part time job correctly without neglecting some aspect of it. But since he’s moved to Paris and Paris has akuma attacks, it would be immoral not to jump in and try to help while he’s here. Ladybug shouldn’t have to do everything by herself. So he jumps into a fight against an akuma, they win, and then he takes off the ring and holds it out to her, explaining he’s not right for this but he trusts her to find someone who is. He trusts her judgment. But Marinette… well, she just had a fight where someone took the threat seriously, didn’t clown around and had her back for once. She sees someone who views having a miraculous as an incredibly serious thing. After having dealt with Chat’s nonsense, that’s wonderful.

Ladybug tells Célestin to keep the cat miraculous for the time being. She’ll look for another candidate to give it to long-term. For now, though, she trusts him to do the job correctly, since he takes it seriously. The bigger issue she has is Alya speculating on the Ladyblog that Ladybug and Chat Noir broke up or that Ladybug is cheating on Chat Noir with the new black cat. Exhausted with Alya insisting the two are dating and not listening to anything Ladybug has ever said about not being interested in him, Ladybug stops giving her interviews and instead, with Célestin’s help, sets up her own social media accounts and personal site in order to be able to speak to people directly. She talks about how Chat has harassed her, touched her without her consent, repeatedly ignored her boundaries and made her life harder. Paris’ opinion of him turns sour at the same rate as Adrien at school gets snappier and shorter tempered with the people around him. Marinette’s crush on Adrien fades as she sees him defending Chat Noir, arguing with other people and generally being less and less mature in ways that are distinctly repulsive instead of charming. Lila decides to go for a different model she’s charmed online who isn’t defending sexual harassment, Chloe is too busy trying to figure out what’s going on with Adrien to bother Marinette, everything is looking up.

Then Adrien gets akumatized. It’s a combination of having his hero persona disliked by everyone, seeing Ladybug be happy with someone else, and the fact that she said she wasn’t romantically interested in him. He manages to suck at being an akuma because the person he goes after, immediately, is the new Chat, Chat Minuit. He thinks this man somehow stole his girlfriend despite all evidence to the contrary, and yells out that he was Chat Noir and Ladybug is his. Ladybug has never been more disappointed or repulsed in her life. Unfortunately for him, Alya livestreamed most of the fight. Now people know he was the douchebag Ladybug had been complaining about, and they’re mad, so Gabriel, if only because he likes money and this is bad for his company’s reputation and profits, shuffles Adrien off to a private boarding school away from angry, dangerous people who hate him enough to want to hurt him. (Yes, Adrien is a minor and shouldn’t be threatened by adults, but sadly, we’ve seen adults IRL threaten minors. It’s wrong but it happens. The fic just shields him from it because no minor, even a shitty one, should be threatened by adults with physical or mental harm.)

Alya apologizes to Ladybug for everything and vows to make amends. Marinette excels at pursuing her fashion career without having to worry about carrying around Chat Noir’s deadweight and instead has someone to lean on when it comes to superheroics. Célestin ends up being the permanent new holder of the cat miraculous and finally overcoming his ongoing fears of not being a good enough person. Now the fight against Hawkmoth can go on but with two competent superheros, not just one.

In my mind I picture Célestin as black, but honestly I’d be cool with a prompt filler making him another race so long as he wasn’t white. This show has way too many white characters when you look at France’s actual demographics already. Please keep him a nonwhite biromantic ace who isn’t automatically attracted to Marinette and she isn’t automatically attracted to him because people can in fact just be friends, regardless of what bad writing might tell you. Give me some bi ace rep where being bi doesn’t mean crushing on everyone or cheating and being ace doesn’t mean being cold or standoffish and I will die happy.

The Trevor Project needs help holding upper management accountable for sudden devastating layoffs, and silencing those attempting to speak up about it!

The Trevor Project is a US-based nonprofit organization that provides support for struggling queer youth, providing 24/7 phone and text lines as well as other resources and community for many queer youth who are struggling to find support and a sense of stability. For those who work for this project, their jobs have meant everything to them, and the layoffs came suddenly, without the employees being able even so much as give feedback during this announcement.

"On the morning of June 14, The Trevor Project sent a meeting invite for 1:30 pm EST (2 hours before the meeting start time). The meeting was titled "988 Updates." In this brief meeting, staff at Trevor Project and staff contracted through Insight Global working for Trevor Project were informed that almost half of this 988 staff would be laid off and the last day for those folks would be July 2, 2023. Coordinators of the meeting from both Trevor Project and Insight Global turned off the chat feature and opened the Q&A, but have yet to still answer the questions asked by the staff. Leaders were stiff, emotionless, and cold while reading off of a script as if they were not destroying lives by what they were saying. 988 counselors and staff were also told not to stop taking crisis chats while this was happening, leading to our own self-crises while trying to support contacts. This was a highly unprofessional and inconsiderate meeting with life-changing news."

This has been utterly devastating for both the project, and those who are losing their jobs. Those affected were given a two week notice. As this is a primarily queer organization, many of those affected by these lay-offs face discrimination in their careers and have struggled to find jobs outside of queer affirming organizations.

As of writing this post, this petition only needs 255 signatures to pass, please sign if you agree that those in charge need to be held accountable and provide answers and solutions for the problems and damage that has been caused. Marinette is done. It’s… it’s too much. The Miraculous gives you the attributes of the animal it’s based after, right?

Her fingers are slow and hesitant as they click-clack across the computer, and a quick Google search tells her that cats are repulsed by the scent of lemons and eucalyptus.

And a dig through her drawer tells her that Nana had bought her plenty of perfumes during that period where she didn’t really know who Marinette was as a person.

Now, whenever Chat Noir leans in for a non-consensual kiss, he leaps back and hisses. When his hand is on her shoulder, her wrist, even their classic Pound It!, he quickly flinched back as if burned.

It’s interesting, though, how Adrien is struggling to remain within a five foot radius of Marinette before needing to flee suddenly (a pity, too, because he sits almost right in front of her). And Marinette’s upset about that, but that’s a minor side effect to being free from Chat Noir’s advances, the harassment, the assault, all of it.

She’s a pet owner with a spray bottle, and she’ll keep spritzing until Chat Noir gets the hint.

And as soon as she can handle being around him, she’s taking that ring.

(From the editor: I can’t really vouch for the idea that cats are repelled by citrus or eucalyptus, ours don’t seem to mind and actively try to eat the leaves off my lemon tree when I brought it inside, so let’s just assume that the strength of the smells is too potent and that’s what repelling him)

Lila, to show to Adrien that he’d much rather date her than land in a toxic relationship with someone else, plants someone to sweep him off his feet.

Of course, everything is orchestrated, but Adrien eventually does fall, but only because he’s been somehow convinced that THIS is Ladybug.

But the girl Lila planted to woo him is stubborn. She absolutely refuses to let him take control of the situation and continues to be bratty and toxic towards him, despite his hardest efforts.

When he realizes that this girl isn’t Ladybug...well...he’s too far invested in the relationship now. Shippers would riot and paint a bad picture, his friends would question what changed, he’d seemed so infatuated before?

So now he has to figure out how to survive this horrible girl, who expects him to buy fancy things for her, for an undetermined amount of time til he can break up with her at the right moment.

And if he happens to figure out who Ladybug really is during all this...well, he’s already taken, huh?

This is not to say that Adrien deserves to be in a toxic relationship, no one does. But he's in quite the pickle now.

If writing "fanfiction" requires you to rebuild the entire universe and every single relationship between every character from the ground up just so that things are actually coherent, that's not fanfiction anymore, you've been writing original fiction the whole time, and just slapping an existing character's name on it.

And if the story in question is public domain, like Dracula, Frankenstein, Winnie the Pooh, and Sherlock Holmes, you literally don't even have to change their names. It's not fanfiction if it's public domain, it's literally just normal fiction.

the newest prompt has been rejected for multiple reasons:

A) de-aging characters is not allowed (the only exception would be Literally Everyone being deaged by an akuma, leaving only the adults who are now teenagers, to actually handle things and protect their kids, who are now babies again)

B) kids should not have to be parents. kids are kids. they deserve to be kids. They should not be responsible with being a parent to another child. No, not even if the kid in question's a horrible person. He should still not be forced to give up his childhood to be a parent before he's even seventeen.

C) giving Adrien a kid before he's learned to not be a horrible person is just a recipe for abuse. pretending it would go fine is just lazy and making him OOC for the sake of the plot.

D) saying /platonic/ love is the most important thing in the universe is not actually an improvement upon amatanormativity. people also do not need to have kids in order to be happy >.>

Submitted prompt: Adrien Needs Therapy

(Some parts edited a bit for clarity, and more firmly criticizing the misogyny. The end line edited to not make it seem like other characters calling Adrien out is bad, since no one is obligated to redeem a character like Adrien.)

Gabriel is worried that Adrien's sneaking out and continual attempts to shake his control are the beginning of a rebellious phase, which would be disastrous for Adrien's image and marketability and could impact the company's bottom line.

As a result, he sends Adrien to therapy, in an attempt to regain control over his wayward son.

At first, Adrien is less than thrilled, but his therapist, when he looks her up, looks a lot like Ladybug, with eyes like his mother, and because those are the two people he fixates on, he finds himself going along with his father's plan out of a need to have glimpses of both in his life.

It's not healthy, but it's enough to keep him in the room, which is a start.

His therapist, a young recent graduate named Euphrasie, is good at handling Adrien.

She redirects him when he over-focuses on Ladybug and tries to get him to focus on who he is and who he wants to be - after all, he didn't have something he wanted to be as a little kid canonically, and he grew up with only Chloe (and by extension, Sabrina) for friends. He needs to learn to stop fixating on Ladybug and the idea that loving her will solve all his problems, and focus on caring about himself and learning to solve his problems by himself, whenever he can.

And if anybody else were telling him that, he'd say no, but Euphrasie seems to him like the mom he wished he had. He may only do the bare minimum, but he at least will, for her, try.

Over time he builds up a fondness for her.

Because he doesn't try very hard at protecting his secret identity, she puts together that he's Chat Noir, and she worries about him getting hurt or captured by Hawkmoth.

What Adrien doesn't realize is that, by venting to her and taking her advice to try to broaden his interests, listening to new music, making his own fashion choices no matter what his father says, and spending time watching new media with his friends, he's actually genuinely begun to love her. She's almost like a mom to him.

So when one day she calls him out, very bluntly, for his sexual harassment of Ladybug, it hurts. It feels like a knife twisting into his heart. It feels like betrayal. It hurts to be told by someone he loves and trusts that he's doing things that are bad, that disappoint her. He always thought it was a joke, that parents being disappointed was worse than them being mad, but Euphrasie is disappointed in him, and it's a million times worse than if she'd been mad at him. She believes she can do better, she knows he can improve, and she asks him why he hasn't.

She gets him to admit, both to her and to himself, that he knew his behavior was wrong, and he was doing it because he thought it was fun. Admitting this out loud to her is the hardest thing Adrien's ever done in his life, especially because her disappointment is as clear as day.

She coaches him on how to apologize to Ladybug, and how to process his emotions in a way that's not only good for him, but everyone around him, too. He sexually harassed Ladybug for fun because it gave him control over something in his life, when he had little control over anything else. He did to her what his father did to him so that he would be able to laugh and have fun at her expense.

Knowing why he'd done it didn't make it any better or less terrible, didn't excuse him in nay way, but it did give him a road map on how to do better and become a better person. If he felt like he didn't have any control, if he was angry at his helplessness, then he should talk to someone, even just a friend or a diary or journal, not let his anger convince him to make other people feel just as bad as he did.

Where this goes is up to the writer. Just give me Adrien being called out and forced to actually reckon with his mistakes and get his life together.

Submitted prompt: Miraculous Ladybug + Puella Magi Madoka Magica fusion-ish, crossover with PMMM: Side Story

As in PMMM, magic is tied to your psychological state. The happier you are, the more magic you have access to, and when you defeat an akuma, it drops a Grief Seed full of energy you can use to boost your own magic reserves/help your mental state improve.

Adrien is too much of a goofball to realize how serious the situation is, so he doesn't need many Grief Seeds, but also, he doesn't realize how many Marinette needs. She does take the fight against Hawkmoth seriously, so the stress weighs on her. It's getting harder and harder to summon up enough magic to do what needs to be done with so little support.

Enter stage left, Iroha Tamaki. Iroha has traveled from Japan to Paris in search of her long-lost sister, but she won't hesitate to help out Ladybug in the fight against Hawkmoth. She's got a canonical chronic heroine syndrome that makes her sometimes over-exert herself enough that she detransforms, and Marinette... well, she's moved. She's never had a stranger or a partner alike work so hard to help her, in fights or in anything else. And it's not as if Iroha isn't going through her own struggles trying to find her sister - she's under pressure, too. But she's so positive she'll find her, so convinced they'll win, that her positivity leads her not to need as many Grief Seeds to power up. So she can give the spares to Marinette, and help her not feel so overwhelmed. She's a true friend.

And Iroha doesn't have a miraculous boosting her magic or making her immune to pain in superhero form, either. She's working at a disadvantage but she won't stop working regardless. Better yet, at school, Iroha supports Marinette (whose superhero identity she doesn't know) when Marinette realizes she's been forcing herself to do what she thinks someone who experiences romantic attraction should do. Marinette is aroace and struggling to come to terms with it, but Iroha defends her to other girls in class, pointing out people don't need romance to be happy or whole.

Adrien disagrees. Unfortunately for him, Iroha's defining canonical response to being yelled at or lectured is to calmly restate her position, not to get into a fight. Between this disagreement at school, Ladybug not wanting to hang out with him but instead wanting to hang out with the nameless Japanese superheroine in the hood, and Ladybug proudly proclaiming she's aroace on the Ladyblog, Adrien gets akumatized. Maybe at one point he would've been beyond Ladybug's ability to take in a fight.

But now she has Iroha, who will not hesitate to stall for time while Ladybug calls for backup, who will keep fighting even when her magic burns out and she's stuck in civilian form. She will risk life and limb for people because that's the core of who she is - and Marinette understands, because that's the core of who she is, too. They are selfless to a fault, and alone, they would burn out. Together, though, they can help each other overcome almost anything.

The other heroes and Iroha beat Adrien, and in the aftermath, Ladybug looks at her magic reserves and finds they haven't depleted at all. Chat Noir/Adrien can't hurt her anymore. He doesn't drain her.

She has improved, not through romantic love, but through loyalty and support and kindness from others.

And she takes the black cat miraculous from Adrien and knows, now, that she doesn't need to rely on him in order to take down Hawkmoth. She hands it to Iroha, someone who actually earned it, and promises her: "When we're done with Hawkmoth, I'll help you find your sister. And I know she'll be proud of you. You're a hero, Iroha Tamaki, with or without magic."

"So are you, Ladybug. You're everything I want to be - kind, happy, generous, and hardworking. I don't know if I deserve a miraculous... but I'll do my best to help you. You deserve not to do this alone."

Then they hug and there's zero romance to it but deep, mutual appreciation and admiration.

(I can accept them as an aroace Marinette + (canonically) sapphic (noncanonically) ace Iroha QPP but not an allonormative allosexual couple, on the off chance anyone fills this.)
