This is uh lowkey a vent thing but its wholesome so don’t worry uwu

Her fingers brushed through the soft hair donning your head, easing you into a relaxed state of borderline sleep.

She toyed with a lock or two- lovingly smiling down at you led on her chest.

You were focused on the screen- but her eyes never left your face. She glanced over your features, admiring every one of them- from the way your lips curved ever so slightly into a contented smile to how your eyes reflected the light from the tv.

A small pat on the head and then the absence of her hand pulled you from your trance.

“Hey...” You looked up at her, expecting her to continue their actions- you could see her eyes were watering.

“Wha- What’s up?” You were concerned now.

“I’m sorry, it’s okay, I just.. I love you so much, you cute dumbass.” She smiled and wiped away a tear as you pulled yourself up to lean over for a soft kiss.

She giggled a bit when you parted from the kiss.

“You’re the best, y’know that?”

“Nah, and no you.” You retorted, getting back into the comfortable position you were once settled in.

“Hmph, fine.” She scowled jokingly- but couldnt help but break the facade with a smile.

“Good, now gimmie headpats again.” You demanded and she huffed, resuming rubbing your head and playing with your hair.

“Okay, okay, only for you, my cute dork.” She shook her head, smiling, and let out a quiet sigh of contentment as you ‘hmph’d at the nickname.

“I’m glad.” You smiled and rested your head on her chest, once more allowing yourself to drift into a state of feeling safe and secure.
