Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Elizabeth Frye (Dayton, Ohio, 13 November, 1905 – Baltimore 15 September 2004) was a Baltimore housewife and florist, best known as the author of the poem “Do not stand at my grave and weep,” written in 1932.

What day is it? Who knows, who cares.
So I see that I haven't been that particular with blogging during this trip. Hm. Well here's a brief summary of the past couple of days:
Beach: The other day I went to this quaint little beach in Malibu that had amazing tide pools. There were caves to crawl through, littered with starfish and other living organisms. It was super relaxing to just soak up the sun and hear the waves crashing around me. The name of this beach is Leo Carillo if any of you ever want to check it out. There is also an AMAZING seafood shop near the beach called Neptune's Net that I highly recommend to passerby's. The best time of day to visit this little restaurant is around the twilight hours, when the sun is just beginning to set. After a nice long day at the beach, this is a great place to kick back with your friends or family and watch the sunset while enjoying fresh food on their outside patio.

Warner Brother's Studio: Took the VIP TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was such an amazing experience to see the 108 acre lot where there is anything from a fake-town, to a fake jungle, to hundreds of props and workshops. The best part of that day was seeing the Pretty Little Liars filming in action! I would have never thought that almost the whole show is filmed inside this awesome studio. It's a pretty long tour, so if you ever decide to go on it, make sure that you don't go during the peak hours of sunlight because you will have quite a bit of out-door time. You reserve your time-slot prior to the tour online. Also, if you are a clothes-junkie like me, there is an awesome street about five minutes away from the studio that is home to tons of second-hand shops that have just amazing clothes and shoes and accessories. The prices range from cheap to super expensive so don't be discouraged if the first shop you enter has prices in the hundreds-range. I snagged 2 pairs of amazing boots, a shirt, a scarf, and a super cute hat for around 60 bucks. There is also a pretty cool retro candy shop that my brother really enjoyed while I was out clothing-hunting.

Getty Museum: Two words; Ah-mazing! lol. For any artsy-fartsy freaks like me, this is a must visit place! The whole entire experience was just awe-inspiring. Its only a fifteen dollar parking fee and totally worth it. My favorite exhibit of the museum was in the photography section although I'm pretty sure this was the last week they are showing it. Even if you aren't all that into art, just being on the grounds is breathtaking. Seated on the top of a mountain, the view of Los Angeles is enough to drop your jaw to the floor. There is also a great little restaurant on the side of the mountain (still a part of the museum) that over looks a gorgeous garden and the entire city of Los Angeles below that. If nothing has sparked your interest so far about this place, then maybe the Museum's architecture will. Seriously, I could have spent an hour just staring at the beautiful buildings.

Good Morning Baltimore, Every day's like an open door. Every night is a fantasy. Every sound's like a symphony.
Yesterday was magical! Yes, that's right, yesterday I went to the wonderful land of Disney!
When we got to Disneyland, we chose to attend the adventure park, which I wasn't too thrilled about at first because I wasn't really up to going on roller coasters. It ended up being awesome though! Of course, for a roller coaster junkie like me, there were no thrill rides on my level, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Cars ride, which was a modeled after the Disney/Pixar movie "Cars." I could have done without the almost two hour wait on line, but I used that time wisely and got my Temple Run skills back and practiced expert level braids on my cousin's long and beautiful hair.
Also, if you are into the whole loud music, club scene, there was a pretty cool house music area where the White Rabbit DJ got the crowd wild. This was located in the Alice and Wonderland, Mad Hatter section that turned total nightclub scene when the sun went down. It was also cool because there were several random dance-offs that I got to witness with random patrons performing. I don't recommend this for people who hate loud, crazy, teenagers, and weird creepy older guys.

The most magical part of the entire day was the ending light show. It was an intense 27 minute show with amazing bursts of colors and music and water and fire and Disney/Pixar movie clips that brought tears to my eyes. Get this fun fact: It cost Disney $75,000,000 to produce the "World of Color" lightshow, and roughly 15 months of preparation! I deff recommend this as a "Must See.
The day ended with a satisfied grin on my face, and my feet soar as could be.

'ello. did you just say hello? no, i said 'ello but that's close enough!
Day one was a non-stop, jam-packed day full of fun!
I first visited Hollywood Boulevard, which is only a twenty minute drive from where I am staying in Grenada Hills. The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, and I even caught a few glimpses of the Hollywood sign!
Walking up and down the star-studded streets was totally awesome. I was however, a bit surprised at how dirty the stars were. I guess I always imagined the stars to be bright and shining, and was a taken aback when i saw that some of them had GUM on them. Can you imagine!? Actually, I'm exaggerating... The only star that was really dirty was Britney Spears'... How ironic.
After walking in and out of touristy shops, touching the exact same spots on the ground Emma Watson & Johnny Depp have, standing in the shoe imprints of Robert Pattinson, and downing bottles of water to stay hydrated in the California sun, I had a delicious lunch at the Rolling Stones Cafe. Best decision of the day! Why you ask? BECAUSE EVERYTHING WAS ORGANIC! WOOOOOOOO. Leave it to me to get excited for having fresh picked lettuce in my salad... In all seriousness, the waiter did tell us that every vegetable on our plates was picked out that morning at the local farmer's market, which I thought was wicked awesome.
Our next stop (after a minor detour that lasted like 20 mins), was Venice beach, a lovely beach with an eclectic boardwalk running the entire length of it. On this boardwalk, there were tons of little shops selling a variety of things, from bracelets to shoes, fruit sundaes to prescription marijuana. Yes, I even walked into a "doctor's office" to see just how easy it would be to get diagnosed with something that would allow me to get some ganja. Let me tell you, it wasveryeasy.
I think the best part of my day today (besides the countless hours spent laughing with my cousins), was watching the sun set while laying on the sand, the sound of the waves drowning out the entire world. In that moment, I felt infinite..

Woops, that was a fail.
The whole point of this post is to apologize for not posting.
At the time, I felt like the end of my trip in Europe was not worth blogging about. I was sick with a cold, drama and fights were prevalent and I was too mad to really rant. I was also quite homesick and I just didn't want to write so negatively.
Luckily..... I'm in CALIFORNIA! and my blog will resume. woohoo.
much love
xoxo,
E
