So KLM (The Royal Dutch Airliner) has put out this video which shows off their advergame which will be soon available on their website.

The advergame will be centred around the story of how the airline industry began and is also interwoven with the history of KLM.

This game gives the public an opportunity ‘to run their own airline’ and familiarises them with the KLM brand and the airline industry.

Essentially what this game is doing is creating brand awareness for the brand which as I have indicated in my previous posts can lead to creating brand preference for the featured brand when consumers are making a buying decision.

What is interesting about this game is that it seems quite complex which reflects the industry and the company for which the games is for. This raises the question of who this game targets?.

I actually had a copy of Chex Quest as a kid! Unfortunately, my computer at the time chugged on it… I think. Actually, I didn’t know how to play it properly since I wasn’t huge on games at the time, let alone Doom clones, and the cinematics freaked me out. (Bad CGI mixed with uncanny valley. bad combo.) I didn’t think much about this game until I learned about its cult following: they actually released third one back in 2009!
