Hi everyone,

after a somewhat longer time of being heavily busy, both professionally and privately, I finally got around to creating a portrait of Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, daughter of Rhaegar Targaryen and Elia Martell, (in Midjourney) which I'm really happy with and which shows how I envision her in my still ongoing fic "Of Kings and Bastards" on AO3.

And yes, I know that "AI art" is not real art. I don't claim that and would never claim that. For me, it is a tool that helps people who are utterly untalented in painting like myself to express themselfs in a way that would otherwise have remained closed to them.

So even though I know that such AI-generated images are not and can never be on a par with real art and real, human-made images, I hope that some people will still like it. Not because I'm making an artistic claim, but because it enables me to give a little insight into my mind to anyone who wants to see it. As such, I hope you like it. :-)

AO3 - Of Kings and Bastards - 10

Hi everyone, with the help of my good friend MidJourney, I was now finally able to come up with an image of Prince Aegon Targaryen, the son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell, as I imagine him in my fic "Of Kings and Bastards" on AO3 and that I'm happy with.

I wanted him to look tall and strong, yet athletic rather than bulky, more like the first Aegon, who was said to have been a brick wall of a man, than like Rhaegar, who was rather slender. I hope that can be seen. :-)

Hi everyone, here's the third bunch of character protraits I made with Midjourney. So let's dive right in. Lord Eddard Stark:

Lady Catelyn Stark:

Here we can see one of the others issues I mentioned earlier: it's not easy to get a consistent art style in Midjourney. I think the portrait itself looks amazing, but you can clearly see the difference in the style from the portrait of Ned.

Robb Stark:

And again, the style is quite different from Ned or Cat. Still, I like the portrait. :-)

Sansa Stark:

This portrait is actually one of my favourites so far. I think Sansa not only looks incredibly beautiful on it, she also looks fittingly posh.

As you can see, it's sometimes not easy for Midjourney not to reference the actors having played the character in Game of Thrones, Kit Harrington in this case, but I still think he looks amazing. :-)

And here we have Midjourney's known six-finger-problem. Still, I think she looks gorgeous, doesn't she?

Again, the fingers aren't quite right on his right hand, but... well, I don't really care in this case. Also, I told Midjourney to have him hold a cup of wine instead of... what is that even? A book? Not really Robert-Baratheon-like to read books. Haha. So MJ got that wrong, but I just love the rest. :-)

AO3 - Of Kings and Bastards - 1

Hi everyone, I have been playing around with Midjourney lately to generate a lot of silly stuff, but also to create some images of the characters I write about in my fic "Of Kings and Bastards" on AO3. Midjourney still has some well known problems like color bleeding, following descriptions of clothes or how to get the age of a character right (if a girl is, let's say, said to be 14, MJ can oftentimes makes her look 10, but a girl of say 15 can quickly look 21 in MJ) and sometimes simply the number of fingers a character is supposed to have. It's also not easy to keep a consistent art style, which you will probably see in some of the images coming later. Still, it's amazing fun to play around with it and some of the results I do absolutely love. So, I'm going to post some of the images I created with MJ here. Maybe one or two of you like them nearly as much as I do. Have fun and feel free to let me know what you think :-)

BTW, I'm going to start with the most important chacacters here: the dragons. ;-)
