- “You’ve had these flames burning inside you for so long, these and the flames of revenge, of anger.” Cid knows, he’s felt those same feelings many times. “The fires claw at you until you forget what it is not to feel them burning away at your insides.” Clive is sweating now, straining to keep both fires manifest. Cid pulls his arms back and moves around Clive’s body slowly, dragging a light touch with his good hand down Clive’s left arm till he’s pressed against Clive’s back, breathing lightly on the back of Clive’s neck. Clive gasps, shaking slightly as the fires flicker. “Clive, you need to let them burn without. Let them start with you, but not define you.” He slowly presses Clive’s hands closer together until they’re just about touching, the two sides of Clive manifest in swirling heat. He pulls his arms back, tucking in his bad one and wrapping his good arm around Clive, holding him close and bracing himself. “Breathe,” Cid whispers.-
