I had the pleasure of not only being a mod, but also writing this feelsy Aerith Lives AU for the @aerti-zakkurazine 🥹💕 (many thanks to @nabimachi for the spot art!!)

Here's a snippet.

Nothing shattered the silence within the City of the Ancients. Not footsteps nor the wind. Even the occasional sigh was rendered mute. Tifa’s mind deafened her with a cacophony of thoughts. Please let her be here. Please be safe. Please — Her breath hitched. Up ahead on a crystalline altar was— Light glimmered above. A figure fell as her heart launched into her throat. And somehow, despite the rapid pulse strangling her, Tifa found the strength to shriek. “Aerith!” That bowed head—one Tifa recognized in any crowd—jerked up. A gasp, a whirl, then a yelp. Crimson speckled the pristine white floor, the still lake, the pink dress Aerith always wore. Tifa blinked and she closed the distance. She blinked and their allies brandished weapons at Sephiroth—no, Jenova. She blinked and caught Aerith before she collapsed. If only she had arrived sooner. If only Aerith asked her to tag along. If only they never left the slums and let the world burn.
