Thinking about how because John refused to talk about Arthur, in turn, Jack doesn't truly know Arthur. He doesn't know about the man who saved them, the man who stepped up for Abigail during John's absence, and the man who grew up alongside his father. He doesn't know how much Arthur loved animals and drawing.

Maybe he has a memory here or there, but he doesn't truly know Arthur despite how big of an impact he had on his life.
