"Oh I certainly am hoping so," he returns in kind, a creeping flush blooming under his skin over his nose and sharp cheekbones.

He's settled back in his seat now, one long leg crossed over the other and an arm draped on the same table her wine is set upon. His hand is empty and so his fingers begin to slowly trace along the edges of the table's mosaic tiles. He isn't nervous but he fidgets none the less, as if trying to carefully mind his burst of energy.

"I'm a fae. I had high hopes to take after the leprechauns but I haven't the heart for stealing back my gold from unsuspecting mortals. I'm far too kind, it seems. I could be a tinker, I suppose, only most of the things I make are lopsided and end up back in pieces more often than not. Oh! But I certainly am one for the trooping sort. I like to roam when it suits.. and their pop up markets are lovely... mm.."

His gaze lifts to the sky briefly, a wistful sigh slumping his shoulders as he regards the moon, as if perhaps SHE knows what he is when he hasn't much of a clue.

"I suppose being me is enough though. Now, water... well, that's easy enough. We could go find some!"

Now Thad hunches forward, slips to the edge of his seat and sets his jungle green gaze upon her as if planting a particularly alluring tree just overflowing with ripe fruits, heavy and begging to be devoured. It's not an enchantment in his gaze, not really, it's just the natural way of the gentry, a sort of magnetic pull that grows stronger when they begin to want for something.

"It'd be terribly fun, better than this party I bet... and if we do this I'll even be so bold as to tell you my name."

Evelyn's smile is wide as she looks up at him, her free hand on the wheel of her chair. It's a beautiful event - and she shouldn't be surprised that he's picked her, given the kind of attendees that are here, even though right now, she looks completely human.

"Flattery will get you lots of places." She says coyly, reaching for the wineglass she has resting on a nearby table once he releases her. "But you must forgive me - you know I'm a mermaid, but you are-?"

It's not exactly a skill of hers, detecting non-humans.

"Makes it a little bit of a shame that there is not a pool of water here for me to show off for you."

the desperation is like a blade to an already bleeding heart. his, in particular, has always been a little more prone to breaking under the pressure of the likes of women like sigyn.

his mouth feels like he has been eating ash, tongue dry and throat scratchy. he had been screaming, after all, it's no wonder his voice comes forth rough and with grit.

"he is gone, sigyn. that's all there is to say of it."

"Sig," there is a sort of blooming in the way the nickname is said. As if something that has been planted long ago is finally coming to properly blossom.

Which wasn't a real exaggeration either. Psyche seemed to fall in love with all sorts of people all the time. But right now it was Sigyn that held her heart, held her interest.

the thought hadn't crossed his mind. it was born there, actually. didn't need to cross where it lived, where it sank it's roots possessive and hungry.

"you got a funny way of sayin' you appreciate the offer," he says coolly around the lip of a beer. the eye trained on eli seems off somehow, too dark, oily black with no line of difference between the pupil and the iris.
