@year-of-the-echidna's 'Girl' prompt called for a self indulgent hc--genderqueer Knuckles~

Echidna genders are 'warrior' and 'priestess'. In another time, Knuckles would have been brought up as both due to his chaos connection. He is aware of this, although he lost much of his connection to his priestesshood on his journeys.

If he ever decided to reconnect with his priestesshood, the Wachowskis would use she/her, tentatively at first, then more surely. Knuckles doesn't care either way, he or she aren't echidna words after all! He takes it with a 'they're a little confused, but they got the spirit' mentality.

to be honest there has never been a fictional character i’ve actually wanted to date. like. i want them to date each other. i don’t want myself as a person to be involved in this scenario whatsoever. what would i add to this narratively? what’s my thematic purpose in the narrative? immersion breaking.

The echidna tribe only had two genders :Warriors and Priests/Shamans. Pachamac was a warrior while Tikal(and her Grandmother) were priests/shamans

Do you think the reason Knuckles is so giggly throughout his first appearance in games is because it's legit his first time interacting with people? That he's laughing despite it all because he finally has met people, something he figured he never get to do?
