Eggsy gives the hotel manager a nod of greeting as he walks behind Harry for a moment and then catches up to walk beside him.  When they’re alone and down the hallway, Eggsy leans in to Harry’s side.  “Did Sophie know you were bringin’ me?  s’that why she upgraded your usual room?” Tugging at his duffel, Eggsy pulls it in front of him through the narrow hallway; though he continues to look around at the ornate decor of the hotel.  He can’t get enough of the place and not even so much that he’s actually here.

Once they reach their room, Eggsy flips the key in his hand and unlocks the door to let them in.

“Oh my days,” he whispers with awe as he steps in and drops his duffel beside a small table and walks further in the room.  It isn’t large, but it’s very nice and it does give him a warm feeling - even as he walks throughout the area and over to the window, pushing the shutters open.

It’s so bright from the position of the sun in the sky, no wonder it’s the place of love — unlike Paris.  With a chuckle, Eggsy walks over to the bed and flops down on it, kicking his feet to dangle off the side of the bed and his hands resting behind his head. “Harry this place is fuckin’ stunnin’!”

Although Eggsy was enjoying the observation between Harry and this grandpa looking man, Eggsy just kept his head low and listened to them talk for a moment.  That was until the two men mentioned his undercover name and Eggsy stepped up beside Harry in two swift motions.  “Senior,” Eggsy said with a gentle smile as he reached out and shook the older man’s hand.  Firm, but very kind.

When Fernando started to talk about how much of a lucky catch Eggsy made with Harry, the younger agent couldn’t help but beam brightly.  His cheeks even flushed a bright red because even though they were undercover, the engagement was still very real and still very new.  So, Eggsy was ecstatic.

“Thanks.  He’s a keeper, ain’t he?”  Eggsy slipped his hands into his pockets and rocked on the heels of his trainers for a second as he gleamed his eyes in Harry’s direction.  “Maybe ‘m the lucky one, yeah?”  Gently, and very subtly, Eggsy bumped his shoulder against Harry’s.

Remembering the way things had been last year when Harry was away located in Kentucky… His mind fogged with the painful memories.  Just as Eggsy walked into the white-walled room, he felt his heart slightly pick up speed.  He hated seeing Harry like this, in this room, in this place.  Harry didn’t belong in the confinements of what crazy people would be put into.  This wasn’t fair to Harry, not after the kind of life he’s led.  He’s helped and saved so many people; including Eggsy himself.  So when Eggsy and Merlin had come across Harry - thanks to their American counterparts (Statesmen), Harry was at the least alive and okay.  And that was all Eggsy could ask for.  Truthfully.

But when Harry made it clear that he was coming back to live at his house, to finally leave America and head back to the place Eggsy and JB had called home for a long while, it was time that Eggsy moved out of Harry’s home — without his mentor knowing, and moved into his own Kingsman issued house with his mum and Daisy.  Which Eggsy was okay with, he didn’t mind living with his family.  Maybe one day he’d be on his own.

Eggsy swallowed as he shut the door to Harry’s house behind him. He so badly just wanted to hug him, but he didn’t and instead he nodded then to the regular mug was fine.  Eggsy gave Harry a very soft and close-lipped smile.  “’s fine, Harry.”  It was all the younger agent could even muster up at this moment as he slipped his hands into the pockets of his jeans.

Harry was never going to be ready to come back, of this much he was certain. Having spent the better part of a year languishing beneath fluorescent lights, piecing together memories line by line with his drawings, the prospect of returning to the field only grew more remote the more he considered it. With the world in danger, he could adapt accordingly, just as he always had, but in times of tranquility, his fears caught up to him before he’d realized it. 

Thus, by the time Eggsy had come to visit him, the state of Harry’s resolve had already begun to crumble. Without Merlin’s steadfast presence or a cause to put his energy towards, the helplessness of his white-walled amnesia had begun to manifest in subtle ways. “I do apologize for the clutter,” a little more timid than he’d ever allowed Eggsy to see, a little less focused than he should have been, little more than his manners holding him together, “I’m afraid I haven’t had time to clean the bone china, but if you don’t mind taking your tea in a regular mug, I’ve already boiled the water.”
