That’s a really good question!!

I think if people are going by eng subs or dub alone there’s a lot of information that ends up being left out just due to the way the language works, such as pronoun/honorific use (I will get to it in the read more) and changes from a char’s usual tone signifying emotional/relationship changes.

what i love about danganronpa is that their protags can be just so easily placed on a Useless Gay Scale.

inspired by @frostspeak's warriorsronpa, i made some udg designs! i'm super happy with how they came out, hence i decided to post those two right away.

some info about them? hell, why not, i think i can try-

komaru (or "koko", which was her previous name) used to be a kittypet, but she escaped due to her twolegs' house setting on fire. in panic she ran into the woods and got lost. (maybe firestar makoto ran off from the same house earlier on?? then komaru would be there in place of princess kinda- idk not gonna push)

she was pretty darn useless at first and couldn't hunt at all, though she did learn a bit over time - before she entered the territory of the clans. (it would be cool if a rogue/warrior toko would meet her and teach her stuff before that, but toko counts as dr1 character ig, so i ain't touching that-)

one of the clans offered her shelter and care, but uh. they did realise she was actually kinda crap in everything she did and considered calling her away (may be a clan lead by haiji, idk)

fortunately though, komaru began to show amazing skills in medicine. it seemed like she had some talent going along with it. she got through an experimental training and starclan accepted her as the medicine cat. it was a rough and long journey, but she made it and she's super proud.

she may rely on other cats in harder fights at times, but she's still p good in planning and a great speaker.

also her name is mousestorm because she seemed innocent/weak like a mouse, just to reveal her temper and great talent.

when it comes to monaca/matcha, i am so fricken unsure tbh. she sure is a hell of one scary, intelligent kit.

i had the idea she would willingly run away from home, knowing haiji leads one of the clans somehow - and wanting to get her revenge for him mistreating her and leaving the house. she cannot use her left back leg too well because of him (or so she tells everyone-)

after spending some time as a rogue, matcha would be found by some other clan and taken care of. also she wishes to be called teakit/paw at this point, even if with her ''""leg'''''' it isn't possible for her to pick the warrior training.

in the end, she manages to begin talking other young cats - mainly kits and apprentices - into disobeying and hating other clans, especially adult warriors. that may or may not cause them to gang up on haiji, leader of the other clan.

of course all of that is just like. rough. if that doesn't fit @frostspeak's idea for this au, it may as well stay just a smol wc/dr udg au of mine! i know matcha looks like a dog, but mousestorm seems decent enough-

they play danganronpa once, the universe can't take it and reality shatters on their eyes

a dumb au i came up with, with my brother

chiaki and komaeda have a let’s play youtube channel

chiaki always plays the games and komaeda is also there to add funny komaeda commentary but on two-player games he’ll join in

chihiro is their editor because they both suck at editing

hajime shows up in a lot of videos and he’s never once won a game

they have a long running mario party series that they bring souda onto, and he’s always dumped on relentlessly everytime

a lot of their videos just end abruptly for no reason without any ending of the video

they only bring on kamukura in videos that hajime isn’t in and fans start to theorize that they’re the same person until some galaxy brained genius suggests that kamukura is souda instead

people shipped komaeda with chiaki until he just offhandedly says that he’s gay in a video and fans goes wild

their youtube channel is called komaedachaikigamerhour

komaeda never shows up to cons and fans start to speculate that he isnt actually real and/or that he is a cryptid

there’s a video where chiaki is sick so it’s just komaeda and the entire video is just an entire hour of komaeda trying to figure out how to turn on a nintendo but then at the very end of the video it turns out that it wasn’t plugged in the entire time and then the video cuts off

whenever komaeda can’t do a video chiaki calls sonia and they play horror games together

junko never shows up in any videos but she’ll make call out videos on her channel about komaeda

they play minecraft one time and komaeda kinda disappears saying that he’s building something and when chiaki finally finds him its revealed that he was building a very impressive statue of junko and then he burns it and they end the video there

they have naegi over for a video and they play wheel of fortune and chiaki is just. so tired by the end of the video

whenever they have gundham over for a video they’ll play dumb barbie veterinary flash games and its always a good time
