I think about this very often... nearly everyday. It's such a constant in my life. I think about all the injustice and suffering and stupidity.... always wondering. What's the point of living like this? What is life?

It's insane and well, you gotta be insane to stay sane, something like that huh...

Ep 162 - spoiler in cut

The battle with the demons. Reita claiming her bloodright.

Killian crying. He shed tears. Libations flowing from his eyes.... this is NOT the way i thought we would see him cry. We are reminded once again that Killian was just a boy, who lost his mother's love too young, and who now stands to lose his love too soon.

This episode feels like one of those scenes that makes me want to re-write it for a whole assortment of stories coz it’s soo, ah, my heart!!! It’s the typical troupe of Royal and Common citizen who has powersss become the couple of the story. But their own backstory and personality adds the layers. It's the sort where even something simple like forehead kisses and hugs become moments so special, given their context.

I've been writing a few drafts and wips on the tag of PTSDs and various traumas recovery.

And having this scene where - the stronger archetype protector character, having a weak moment, a lethal injury, experiencing a vulnerability, a moment where the protected character is the one who becomes the protector/ healer. A role switch essentially. But plot pivotal moments n all.

For this is what helps the traumatised character see their protector as also human, also in need of another's care, also at times in need of protection themselves.

A power couple or well, the sort of relationships i aspire to write are, not only does the Knight save the princess. But the Princess also saves the Knight. Or realises that they gotta step up. Wake up. Allow healing to happen with their own will. So as to be able to be there for the other person in their time of need.

Plot note for my shield caster, Lilli. And her ever patient and waiting beau. Lilli is a battlefield healer, but after the trauma she suffered, the king commands her to rest. Her beau is still sent out for battles. He returns from one filthy and tired. She gets some tips, help scrub his back, as part of her own exposure therapy of intimacy. this Knight is exhausted and falls asleep in the tub. His vulnerability leaves her time to stare at him, touch him, without her own anxieties of her fear of his response or her response of the demons that haunt her. This moment is one of the many steps in the right direction.

Another scene. The Knight returns from another battle, or maybe Lilli is dispatched coz situations is dire. Then here's where the inspo slots in - ep 119 dragon valley- Lilli is working on shielding or maybe transporting him on horseback to safety. He's half dead and cold, telling Lillie his pain has all melted away, as Lillie clings to him in an embrace.

Very heart wrenching ,but it also takes development of the character and getting the reader to empathise with them, especially the Knight too, so his close shave with death stirs the readers heart too.

Still reading about Killian and Reita. Ep 130, hidden things.

Under cut coz maybe spoiler

Where Killian goes and accompanies Reita on memorial of Jade's death. Killian shares that his 18th birthday was the same day of his mother's second death/ murder, which is why he doesn't celebrate it. To celebrate Reita's birthday instead.

Fanfic idea. After they get married. When Reita goes into labour for their child. Maybe it's a dangerous labour. Through the night and into the day of that very same fateful day.

But in the dawn hour of Killian’s birthday, she gives birth. When he goes to see her, she says to him, " Killian, Happy Birthday, come hold your daughter." And the babe has a riot of blond curls. Killian holds them both and just cries.

I wanna cry just imagining it. 😭 I dunno if i will write this, or come back and think it cringe. But it sounds epic, especially since cannon, Killian has never cried.

I miss writing... TT-TT

RL has been so busy and painful and a pain in the ass, back, neck and everything and everywhere. Pain in my throat too, literally, i swallowed something that scratched it. Swallowed all the angst, stress, and heart-eating disease.

There's months to go, as I journey the treacherous path that is --- well basically, the first steps of breaking the toxic abusive cycle. Then perhaps months more as I recover from the much-anxiety-inducing anticipated fall out. Then perhaps, after all that, I shall begin to write - my stories - again.

For now, the other blog and books exist for the record of my personal strife-full angsts.

So far, the reviews of Rose 31 is quite unpleasant 😅 I quite liked it a lot, especially in their shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.

Rose 31 is a dark, smoky rose, on the sheer side.

In less than an hour, though, the hint of rose is gone, leaving nothing but a slick (Iso E Super-dominated) smoky-woods aura.

Rose 31 is solidly below average as an example of the 2000’s modernist dark-rose trend. I’m not a huge lover of the genre to begin with, but something like, say, Oud Palao is at least capable of staying vividly rosy and smoky-woody for most of a day. Rose 31 peters out almost instantly. Utter halfassery, of a sort that’s unfortunately common in niche perfume.

Had an idea, maybe it's not a new idea, but, yknow, those fandoms or tags where SCENT matters.

The job of a chemist perfumer, the perfumery, the Febreeze brand. Those are gonna be sooo much more of a lucrative industry than the real world today.

Specialists to create unique concoctions for every individual (who can afford). Or artificial scents made according to how one perceives their partners pheromones.

Scent neutralizers. Stronger ones. Stronger deodorants.

Stuff like that. Interesting huh. Was thinking of giving on of my characters a job in this. Chemistry. Perfumery.

I was looking for something else, and found this post and the following one which I now regret not giving it its own tag. (Its all lumped under the fest tags).

One of the WIPs that I left on tumblr, one of the many WIPs I've left, lying around like the mess and dust you never get around cleaning up.

Life is so busy as of late. And will only get busier. I'm feeling really sad that I don't have the time, the hours, that's needed to sit and write the stories and fanfictions I have waiting. In wips. And in drafts. In google docs and in notes. And in the endless whisps of words like string and frayed thread, fibres, waiting to be spun and weaved. Into pages and pages of stories I want to tell.

Sleep deprivation, hormones and loneliness apparently made him susceptible to peer pressure. Online peer pressure of the anonymous hacker community sort. The hollow ache in his chest and itch beneath his skin eventually led to a slip of too fast fingers. Seconds of silence before the jibes started. 

Their words hurt less than his own self-chastisement at his slip. Vulnerability was a thing to be preyed on, his slip got him caught in one of their infamous dare games. He wasn’t one to get caught. He was one to accept dares, as and when he chose. 

Raking a hand through his unruly waves did nothing to tame it, nor ease his irritation, as he glared at the screen. Should he say no to the people who were his only “friends”? Should he salvage the reputation of this handle he had been using for the past three years? 

Slender fingers rubbed at tired eyes, before pushing the plastic rimmed glasses higher up an oily nose. Why not? He reasoned. Everyone his age was doing something special for their ‘sweet’ sixteen. It should count as extra special since his turning sixteen also coincided with the mid-term break as a first year University student. So while the rest of the hostel was out getting pissed drunk. He accepted the dare.

Hack into a specified public polling system, tweak the results, just a little bit to prove. Under half an hour.

He shouldn’t have. He really shouldn’t have.

But as he leaned back in his seat, surveying the many lines of code, the stopwatch widget on his screen flashed a fifteen minute countdown. Lips pressed thin in concentration twitched into a smirk. His finger pressed down onto the Enter key before he thought better.

The reward was instantaneous, especially so when the issued dare was successfully completed. The minimized chatbox on his taskbar sprang to life with incoming messages, its tiny pop-up screen scrolling faster than his bleary eyes could track.

The astonishment, disbelief and praise flooded on and on for several minutes. He soaked it in, letting their words fill the empty spaces inside him. The adrenaline rush, and following crash, had him flopping back onto his bed. And immediately falling fast asleep.

Mid-term break comes and goes and he caries on with his schedule, blissfully unaware, as a certain discrepancy in the polling system opens a case for investigation.

Bagel recipe

Here's my bagel recipe:

3 tsp active dry yeast

1.5 c. warm water

4 c. flour

1 heaping tbsp dark brown sugar

~1 tsp salt

Activate yeast in water (100-110 degrees F). Cover and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbles form. If bubbles do not form, try again because the yeast has not activated and the bread will not rise.

Whisk together flour, salt, and brown sugar. Pour yeast mixture in bowl and stir using a stand mixer until it forms a sticky dough. (If you don't have a stand mixer you can knead by hand).

Take out of bowl and knead for 5 minutes until it forms a smooth round dough. Grease clean bowl with olive oil and let rise for 1 hour.

Form dough into 8-12 bagels, depending on size. You're going to kind of cup the dough with your hand and roll it into a tight ball on the countertop. Poke a hole in the middle and stretch to ~1 inch and let rest.

Preheat oven to 425 and boil water on stove. You may want to do this before forming the dough balls. Boil bagels for 30 seconds on each side and brush with an egg wash. At this point you can add any toppings you like, I like to do an everything bagel seasoning, but you can also do sesame seeds or anything like that.

Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, it may be shorter if your oven runs hot (like mine does). I also switch the baking sheets in the oven so they get evenly baked.

Yknow that 150k++ story I wrote, that did not get a lot of engagement (kudos, bookmarks, comments). Which is fine, i understand the whole, not popular tags, not a popular pairing, not even a fanfic to begin with, which is all reasons why there's low stats.

Then recently. I got a comment from a reader and the person writes a loooong comment, like 600+ word long comment.

And I'm just blown away and kinda like 🥺🥺🥺 damn, right in my kokoro and eyeballs man... engagement in comments really mean a lot to writers you know. It's why I always make an effort to comment to the stories I read.

I hope to land a spot in the civilian team, coz competition tends to - bring out the worse WIPs in me. Which I’ve stubbornly decided to NOT start up any more WIPS imeanBnSisSTILLinWIPstage and I’vebeenworkingonthatdamnthingforYEARS so - yeah. NO. MORE. WIPS

So I will state them here… and hope they will be achieved. 

Somehow turn that 00Q ABO thing sitting in the notes into a series of drabbles (because we all know that i know that they know- I can never finish a multi-chap plotty anything in a month) - or smother the sparks of ideas that threaten to manifest into flames
