I know. I knooow.

Well! Seems likes I haven't been on this in a very long time. Well, it's because I haven't. I have been astray from any social media ( besides Pintrest) lol because I am tired of the messages people send through what they post. Yeah, there are a couple good, motivating and inspirational ones but then there are the nasty ones that just hurt your feelings, or make you double think stuff or decisions in your life and even your appearance! Anyways, just wanted to de-stress a bit with some unstoppable mind flowing thoughts and to hear the sound of my keyboard clicking. As opposed to when I sit and try to write a French paper because I have to think every move - it's playing chess as I try to conjugate the verbs correctly, in the right tense and order with pronouns. It's easier with spell check around to get away with something but coming up with the misspelled words to type -- Eh! so very difficult.  September is ending as of tomorrow, crazay! This month flew by and is one more closer to the end of another semester, year and chapter in life! So far these last couple days have been so on the go, and very stressful. I am learning to manage time and schedule everything as well as to juggle with the thought of managing all that! I've had family problems, laptop problems (SEVERAL technical issues), financial problems and now phone problems! Gah! Above that I've had school in the background playing a huge role in my scheduling and finding time to study, read, do homework and my social life within it. I am also starting to adjust to working two jobs both in different environments. Life is on roller skates for me. It is zooming by, yet making circle around me pestering me around and trying to get me from point A to B and back from B to A. With midterms rolling out and fall retreat this weekend I have to keep my head on. Don't have time to really loose but I still need time for my temple - my body. For October I will definitely start focusing on that and really start prioritizing with the little time I have on my schedule. Life has to be enjoyable, right? I know there are bad times but I need to start making them better and keep swimming forward! Okay, now I shoudl get back to studying for this darn International Relations Midterm. Although, it is multiple choice, woohoo! Have a beautiful night you beautiful people. Yes, y'all ;)

THIS IS ME AFTER EVERY DAY IN COLLEGE.

The problem is that white people see racism as conscious hate, when racism is bigger than that. Racism is a complex system of social and political levers and pulleys set up generations ago to continue working on the behalf of whites at other people’s expense, whether whites know/like it or not. Racism is an insidious cultural disease. It is so insidious that it doesn’t care if you are a white person who likes black people; it’s still going to find a way to infect how you deal with people who don’t look like you. Yes, racism looks like hate, but hate is just one manifestation. Privilege is another. Access is another. Ignorance is another. Apathy is another. And so on. So while I agree with people who say no one is born racist, it remains a powerful system that we’re immediately born into. It’s like being born into air: you take it in as soon as you breathe. It’s not a cold that you can get over. There is no anti-racist certification class. It’s a set of socioeconomic traps and cultural values that are fired up every time we interact with the world. It is a thing you have to keep scooping out of the boat of your life to keep from drowning in it. I know it’s hard work, but it’s the price you pay for owning everything.
