Romance
Dear Sensational Stranger,
Romance is a funny thing. As a romanticª, I often wonder about it, daydream if you will. It’s something I long for, as I’m sure many of us do. A person to be ourselves with, confide in at all times, share our passions with, teach and learn from. And of course hold hands and kiss, but those are just the extra fun bits.
How do you feel about romance? Whether you’re happily married, in a committed relationship, looking, or very much not looking, (I have no way of knowing which of these is true) it is still an interesting question. Maybe you don’t care for it at all. Maybe you crave it. Maybe you have a very unique definition of it. I’d be interested to know the answer. Of course I can’t, thus is the nature of these letters, but having you ponder it for yourself is nearly as good. But who knows, maybe you’re aware of who exactly wrote this and you’ll come snatch my arm and give me your answer, or scold me. I imagine each scenario is just as likely.
According to a dear friend, I can only be truly happy when with another romantic. Do you think that’s true? A romantic should find another in order to be truly satisfied? I can’t say for sure. Maybe you can. Perhaps you are wiser than us all. A sage or sibyl who gives out the finest wisdom; that would be something.
That’s all for now I suppose. I wish you a fantastic day and an even better tomorrow, dearest stranger.
Sincerely,
Dorian, a hopeless romantic.
ª I’d like to point out that being a romantic isn’t exactly a choice. It’s a way of though, a view on the world and specific things within it. I don’t mean to pity myself, but if I could have the option to not be a romantic, I think I would choose it.

Music
Dear Mysterious Reader,
Isn’t music amazing? How wondrous is it that a certain combination of sounds can take us to such faraway places?
I’ve never been a fantastic musician. I wish I had been one of those who grew up alongside an instrument. I think I would’ve thoroughly enjoyed that. Do you play anything? Maybe you sing? Singing is a whole other realm on its own. One of the talents I wish I had. I suppose I could learn it, but who knows. Maybe I better leave the music to those natural to it.
I do think music can be underappreciated at times. You can learn a lot from a person’s taste in music, their favorite song. I don’t know if you have one, I used to not, but someone once told me “if anyone asks you for your favorite song, you should always have an answer.” So I spent the day deciding on oneª. You should to, dear stranger. When someone asks you, you ought to have an answer. So take some time and come back. Then, when you’re sure, you can answer: what is your favorite song?
I think that is all I may say on music for now. Hopefully, if you didn’t already, you have some more appreciation for it. Really listen to it next time you get the chance. Take your favorite song and truly listen: hear every note, every instrument, every word. I promise, it’ll be magical. I wish you a fantastic day and an even better tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Dorian, a fantasy violinist.
ª I’m afraid I can’t tell you mine. I imagine that would make it much too easy to find me. Have to give you a little bit of a challenge, assuming you even take it up. It’s fine if you don’t; it isn’t the point of these. I will give you a good recommendation though: “Here I Go Again” by the Sunstreak. Give it a try.

Magic
Dear Unique Individual,
I’m a fan of history. Particular older history, such as American and French Revolutionary era history. Victorian history; things like that. While I like them for many reasons, one in particular is that these were the days when people wrote letters. They’re lovely aren’t they? I hope you agree. Otherwise you may not enjoy this one.
Do you believe in magic? I’d like to. Surely the world can’t be as mundane as it seems to be (although I’ll admit scienceª can do some pretty magical stuff). Magic could make the world a pretty exciting place. But often, with excitement, comes danger. Maybe that’s why it’s in hiding, if magic does exist.
I do think some things are magical. Like when you attempt to talk a pretty girl/boy and stutter but it’s okay because they didn’t hear you so you can try again. That’s pretty magical. Or manatees. Or holding hands. I’m a hopeless romantic, if you hadn’t gathered that, and while I often dislike that fact about myself, I do appreciate how it helps me see the little magic in things. You ought to give it a try; look for some simple, everyday magic here and there. Find something that enchants you. I’m sure it’ll be worth your while.
That’s all for now. I wish you a fantastic day today and even better tomorrow. I wonder if you’re someone who’s found any of the other letters. Or maybe someone who will search for them and solve the mystery. We all need a little adventure right?
Sincerely,
Dorian, a wannabe magician.
ª Imagine if we still embraced science and magic together: Alchemy. I think being a Victorian Alchemist could’ve been quite a lot of fun. Assuming my potions could protect me from of all that disease and what not.

Letter
Dear Stranger,
Not enough people right letters anymore. It’s sad really. Now, of course I’m not handwriting this one (my handwriting is horrid), but the gesture of giving someone a hard copy of your thoughts is an elegant one, don’t you think? I hope you’ll agree; otherwise this entire endeavor[1] would be a waste.
I hope your day is going well. Fall has been an up and down season for me. I’ve had a pretty big down recently, but I guess that means I’m due for a pretty big up. Who knows, maybe it’ll have to do something with these letters.
I also wanted to say you look lovely today. Now, I could actually know this (I haven’t decided if I’ll randomly hand these out or leave them places), but even if I never saw you, the point still stands. Everyone is beautiful. A lot of us, I’m guilty of it too, worry about appearing beautiful. Well let me say, for any and all, you’re beautiful. There, in case nobody said it today (as someone should have).
I suppose that’s all to be said for now. I wish you a fantastic day today and even better one tomorrow. Oh, and I can’t be sure if you’re a fan of puzzles or mystery, but I sure am. Hence why this is so mysterious. Of course I’ll sign it (not with my real name of course), but a pseudonym and trademark that could lead you to me, if you wanted it to. Be safe, dear stranger, and may your life be full of adventure and mystery.
Sincerely
Dorian, a letter craving stranger.
[1] Did you know you can win any Pokémon battle with a level 1 Rattata who holds a focus sash and knows quick attack and this move (endeavor). I don’t know if you even know anything about Pokémon, but I thought it’d be cool to mention.
