There’s magic in experiencing

someone’s body for the first time

Not knowing where they came from

Or if you’ll see them again

It feels like I borrowed your love

Can I see you again?

Hard to get started

But easy to keep going

you can’t

judge yourself

by someone else’s

definition of success

success is something

you have to define

on your own

it’s funny how when you’re young

you don’t need “things”

to be happy

but as you get older

you trick yourself into being unhappy

because you don’t have the “things”

you need to be happy

when really,

we’re born with everything

we need to be happy

it’s the world that tells us

we need more...

we’ve turned money into a sport

and now we are slaves to the game

that we are paid to play

no different than modern day gladiators

with suits and ties

we slave our days away

playing gladiator for the day

hoping we retire from this game

with every dollar we save

this is a warriors grave
