Here's what I know about it:

Your sim is supposed to have it when visiting a library lot. I rarely take my sims to the library so I wasn't aware it was a thing, I think it only triggers if there are no functional computers on the lot but having computers is a lot requirement so that kinda failed? It's called the "FreeRoam Portable Computer."

So apparently tech giant Meta is just okay with child exploitation via AI, so that's fun!

Hey, so uhhh Meta's doing shady, scary shit and we should talk about it.

Which like, what else is new? But this is getting scary.

TW for potential child exploitation and death. I know this is a situation where I need to give receipts but under the circumstances, I do not feel comfortable sharing screenshots without editing the crap out of them to remove identifying information--yet the issue revolves around those identities.

I have a facebook--I literally only post memes and keep in touch with relatives and friends.

One such friend from high school recently had her account hacked and she lost access to it. Which is unfortunately pretty common. We're calling her Kay, she uses she/her.

The shady thing is what ended up happening to her account.

She only lost it a few days ago, but suddenly, her account is being flooded with posts she never made, advertising a life she did not have, going back at least the past twelve weeks. The usual "my uncle's estate sale" post showing up in buy/sell/trade groups. She doesn't have an uncle who passed away, but do you know who has passed? Both her parents. Who she had conversations with on that account she no longer has access to.

She is not married, she does not have children. Yet all of a sudden, there are posts about children and her husband. The crazy thing is?

The absolutely insane, sickening thing?

These are not AI generated pictures. These are not fake names. They're real people that are also from the town we're from. Full-body shots of their young (white, blonde-haired, blue eyed Christian Anglo-Saxon) children, full legal names, ages, and where they go to school and their hobbies. We know the father of the picture and besides high school, he has no affiliation with Kay. I don't know at this point in time if he and his wife have been notified of the situation, but because of the response time and everything? It's AI.

Everyone who points out that it's AI is blocked. It's been reported, of course, it's getting thrown out instantly.

Like, there is NO way that this is Meta doing this, right?

They're at the very least, condoning it.

Facts is facts, and fact is:

There are people who do sims Youtube better than I can.

I do NOT want to be a SimsTuber. Not to say I won't ever upload sims stuff again, I just don't want that to be my brand.

I have other passions, too, and want to showcase them.

Typing up the storyline I now follow for the Goth family is very difficult to produce in my current style of video, so I'm thinking two birds meet one stone sorta situation here with how I want to go about it, wink wink.

Anyway I uploaded a process video of my last assignment to prove that I still exist to everyone.

TLDR I found out from researching into a photo I used for an assignment in my design history class that my animated short has some surface level similarities with the story of how preteen Jesus essentially went missing for four days and they found him in a temple and he was being the resident Odd Child.

Did you ever hear of the Beezlebeef cult in the Sims 2?

In the PSP & Nintendo DS versions of the Sims 2, many Sims worship a cow-god under the name 'Prime Heifer'.

Backstory

In early development for the PSP, the cow was initially called 'Cowthulu', in reference to the character Cthulhu.

The name was later changed to what we now know as 'Beezlebeef', based on the 'Beezlebub', commonly present as a satanic entity in many religions.

The player is instructed to construct a shrine in the basement of a hotel for the 'Prime Heifer', having to deceive townies to join the cult.

After acquiring a 'mystic cowbell' intended for the giant statue of the cow, the player is informed of the cows evil intentions, forcing for the statue to be destroyed.

PSP

Woshipped by the 'Kine Soctiety', the player must join this cult and part-take in daily ritualistic dances. Beezlebeef is summoned through the ground in a barn once a dance is completed.

IT'S SAFE NOW!

Good news! People who were banned in the recent string of bans have been getting access to their accounts back. It's not because of mods or anything like that, it's because of hackers.

Pretty much, many accounts were the victims of Russian hackers, and EA blocked the accounts to prevent any further damage and to contain it.

Just as a side note, this is standard protocol for any game company to do this, but where EA fucked up (it's not just Sims, it affected people playing other games, too. It was a huge problem for Apex Legends, too.) is that they usually give us a heads-up when this happens.

If you have been banned, keep bugging EA until they respond. They'll have you reset your password and turn on 2FA.

You can go ahead and put my unlocks back in your mods folder, and my plans to get ALL of them out are back on.

JUUUUST as soon as I have a full list of all packs and all their bonus objects. We were actually able to get Lovestruck in time to get the pre-order objects, so that's cool.

Dear Maxis, PLEASE STOP DOING THIS.

Literally every single time I attempt a Totally Definitive This Time I Swear ™️ Goth manor renovation, Maxis goes and teases us and releases new features that would actually work even better with the build.

Like an on-property pond is one feature I want to integrate and the FIRST time around, I did the old "pool and rocks" trick and then they immediately added in ponds like, RIGHT afterwards.

And now the Life and Death pack's coming out on Halloween. Which they seem to be giving the Goths the treatment they've been neglected on for SO LONG, so now I gotta hold out for that one and see what the build/buy stuff is gonna look like.

PSA: PLEASE REMOVE MY UNLOCKS FROM YOUR MODS FOLDER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

As some of us may know, EA is issuing blanket bans for people for unspecified reasons. It's likely a glitch (I'm happy to say that I haven't been a victim of the bans), and we need to blast attention for EA and demand an answer, but one of the likely reasons would be because of false-flagged "pirating."

My unlocks are not a result of pirating, but rather just finding a workaround in Sims 4 studio, but EA DOES have a history of cracking down on people and accounts who have made unlocks available to everyone before and they most CERTAINLY would likely do it now.

I do NOT want anyone to have their account taken away if this is the case because they downloaded one of my mods unlocking the bonus items.

So until this issue is clarified and resolved, if you have downloaded any of my unlocks for Cottage Living, High School Years, Horse Ranch, and Growing Together--PLEASE REMOVE THEM. Take them out of your mods folder and move them somewhere else.

I have cancelled all plans to make public ALL bonus items and until EA specifies what is going on, will not create any more until there's an explanation to what the actual heck is going on.

I noticed a few years ago that Bluewater Village has the same layout as Old Town in the Sims 1, with that cul-de-sac at the end, and that it's just been industrialized by the Landgraabs, prompting Gunther Goth, the guy who FOUNDED the area to begin with, to retire to Pleasantview--the area where the Goth mansion is in Pleasantview being just the other side of the river, as seen in Old Town in Sims 1.

Pleasantview, as in--yeah, it's pleasant to view NOT the industrialization of his surroundings.

Okay, now I'm inspired to make an abandoned shopping district out of Old Town/Bluewater village.

🌆 Connect between Old Town and Bluewater Village 🌆

The Sims 2 Beta Discord Server shared a theory about Bluewater Village. Its landscape and street layout is very similar to the Old Town from The Sims.

Here it is:

Sunset Valley, Old Town and Pleasantview are separate neighborhoods, connected only by Sims and their stories though what I noticed some time ago is that Old Town and Bluewater Village share quite a similar street layout

💡 BV's lore is that Landgraabs made it into a shopping district (according to the Bluewater Real Estate Office's description and the whole neighborhood's description being "new shopping and entertainment destination", so it's almost as if it had just been opened by the time the game's action takes place, or been opened for some time already based on the Sims living there), and as most Sims that lived there moved to Pleasantview, by the time the Landgraabs would come around it'd be mostly empty and they'd be able to turn Old Town into Bluewater Village

🏔️ Old Town is surrounded by mountains (at least the left side is), which matches with the mountain in BV (to be fair, the whole neighborhood's elevation almost perfectly matches with Old Town)

alright gang, here we go again

tl/dr: I’m fundraising for gender confirming surgery, both the medical costs and recovery time while I can’t work. ($940 raised/$3,000 goal). send to @AlexR815 on Venmo with “surgery fund” note.

a few years ago I’d made a couple different fundraisers for gender confirming surgery, and through the two channels used I raised $940. but since then Facebook has had issues with my banking info, and GoFundMe takes a percentage of all funds raised.

the two pieces of good news I have are: if I can manage to get the surgery before 2026 it will be mostly covered by insurance, and I should be able to take a short-term disability leave for the month-long recovery. the bad news is that insurance will not cover all of the costs, leaving me with a bill of who-knows-how-much, and the disability pay will barely cover my bills for that month, let alone allow me to feed myself and my cats.

so I am hoping to raise another thousand dollars, two to be on the safe side. this is much more achievable than my initial goal of $10,000+. though this time I want to take a different route.

Literally, this has been public knowledge from the beginning. Feel how you want about EA and Maxis (valid, all of it), but this is on the general Sims *community for seeing headlines and assuming things.

This is why we read from source material and NOT read headlines and base our opinions JUST on those.

Information Literacy is a skill people need to learn a lot more of.
