JOURNAL 3 BLACKLIGHT EDITION REVEALED! (Part 1)

Today’s a special day! Today is not only Father’s Day, but Alex and Ariel Hirsch’s birthday! Let’s celebrate by cracking open your copy of Journal 3, prepping your blacklight and invisible ink pens, and jotting down everything here in the special edition so you can have a copy for yourself without resorting to eBay or shady second-hand Craigslist deals!

I was lucky number 02149 to get a copy of the special edition of Journal 3. Well, lucky as in “I could afford to buy it and pre-ordered it back in March the exact day I heard about it going on sale.” Still, I am PSYCHED to share this with everyone! Admittedly I didn’t take photos of every single page – only the ones with black-light effects that were more than ink spatters. Some I had to take [kinda big] pictures of individually, to be able to read the text properly, and others were multi-page spreads that I couldn’t resist capturing in their beautiful glowy glory.

Of course I’ll be captioning them all for you, in case you can’t download/read them. Also, there’s a few secret codes in here! But did you really expect anything less? Also also, this is a 9 page word document (not counting pics), so I’m splitting it up into 3 parts. Especially considering the size of these pictures.

Stan Twins Tango!

I love these old men and I want them to be happy brobros together, so here they are doing the tango! Ford is leading and Stan is enjoying himself! Got the poses from this video!

Whenever I’m feeling a little stiff with my drawings, I like to look at videos of people dancing and do gesture sketches of any poses that interests me! It’s a great exercise and what better way to do it than have your favorite characters (original or fandom) dancing together?

I would love to turn a couple of these sketches into larger, full-colored art sometime! And I love doing dancing sketches like these, so you if want to see more GF characters dancing whatever with whoever, let me know!

A Interview with Alex Hirsch Update!!

Editing for An Interview with Alex Hirsch is nearly done! @fordtato and I still have a bit more work to do due to various external obligations we've had to take care of first (I mean, I'm in my last semester so I think you can guess how busy right now is for me, lol). Our hope is to announce a release date very soon. We obviously don't wanna rush things and announce one just yet in case we gotta push it back. So, once we know we're ready to release this, we will make sure you all know.

And the interview is not the only thing coming! I have a behind the scenes video planned after the interview I wanna release, a special video discussing something huge I was able to accomplish with Alex Hirsch that concludes a piece of old GF fandom history and a little goofy thing he told us that fits better in a separate video, lol.

All this will be coming soon! I know the channel has been kinda dry lately but all will come in good time. The GF fandom is in for some really cool new trivia and lore to enjoy until the Book of Bill arrives. Plus, I cannot wait to show off this little thing Alex sent me. I think you all will love it. I sure did :P

Broadcast LIVE on the R/GravityFalls discord server in front of 195 viewers at peak!

On the 2nd of February, 2024, Grunkle Jam (that's me!) and Beni from the R/GravityFalls discord server sat down for an exclusive, live interview with Jason Ritter ("Dipper Pines") - coming to us all the way from Los Angeles.

From over 150 questions submitted to us by our wonderful community, we picked 35 of our favourites (and some very silly ones) to ask Dipper Pines and got some incredible insight into working on Gravity Falls. Some of these stories have never been heard before!

Introducing, The Evolution of Stans! Been working on this off and on in my free time because I liked the idea of a timeline showing off the many different states of the original mystery twins’ relationship overtime. I’m planning on making this into a print in the future! So keep an eye out. I had a lot of fun with this, and I think I’ll be adding to it up until the series finale! Hope you guys like it =]

As soon as I began receiving asks about Junior regarding my body swap concept a few days ago, I knew I wanted to add him in a short sequence. 💙

I've considered many different scenes in which he would be included, but there was one in particular that kept coming back to my mind, and it was the exact moment he would agree to safely lead Luigi to "Bowser" (aka Mario). In this specific scenario, he would be mostly oblivious to what's going on, and would thus show palpable mistrust towards Luigi at first, who he doesn't really know and hasn't yet opened up to. But upon seeing how distraught the poor man is, Junior would feel for him and let his guard down. 🤲
