Hello, I am from (Rafah) in the refugee camp. I have left my parents at home, my younger siblings have been relying on me for their education, due to the family being economically poor, I took the responsibility of going to do domestic work. in 2017 in the (Gaza) Strip. In the family I was working for, everything was destroyed after riots broke out, the house was bombed, and unexpected deaths occurred frequently. And that's when we ran to Rafah. I am facing the challenge of leaving there (Rafah) because my mother is sick, she has 3C colon cancer, and my father has type 2 diabetes. I am their biggest support, the cost of leaving (Rafah) is $5000 and those it's too much money, I can't afford it right now. Please, I am at your feet, I am asking for your help so I can get home. tl;dr: It wouldn't be average if everyone who saw it didn't like it. you can be part of an average, its literally fine.

I have a strong pick-me/"not like other girls" urge mind you, but just like when I see people drooling over some micro-celebrity who literally looks like Some Guy you'd see on the street, I'm happy for them.

Like, I don't have the time or the energy to be a hater all the time, and I also don't have the time or energy to be fully immersed in something all the time either. Not every piece of media I consume has to be super detailed and nuanced and make me feel every emotion known to man.

Sometimes its nice to be simple, sometimes I like stuff people think is "mid" literally who cares. have your weird hangups about media, I know I do.

Growing up in a what i guess i could call 'Judgmental' and sometimes 'Combative' household, I have had to train myself to me mindful of other people's feelings. and this includes keeping my mouth shut when someone is talking to me about something that they're passionate about DESPITE my own personal opinion on it (and i can be VERY opinionated sometimes).

God knows how many times I've spoken at length about my passions only to have someone immediately shit on it. that doesn't feel good! So i do my best not to just say shit like that out of nowhere because most of the time its not that deep! and if it is, then I'd handle that particular situation accordingly.

people like to be unique and quirky, I get it. I identified as the "weird kid" and "social outcast" growing up, and i still carry some of that with me as a whole adult. I Get It. just. no need to get up in arms about liking shit that other people also like. find joy in shared community and experiences motherfucker. Humans are a social species after all.

Not to sound like a complete goober, but like.....

I love humanity. For all the shit that people do, there's still a lot more outside of that that's worth caring about.

While it gets pushed to the margins, it's little things that make me feel like it's going to be alright.

It's the group of teenagers laughing and talking at the back of the bus. It's getting a thank you from someone you helped just because you saw them drop something. It's seeing other people laugh and talk and be glad to see each other. It's learning that kids have been learning to draw the same way for as long as they could have held a tool to make them. It's seeing your neighbors chatting, even if it is just small talk. It's having a total stranger help get your car unstuck from a rut in the snow. It's driving or biking past an open garage door where your dad is hanging out with neighbors he's never spoken to until then. It's seeing little kids walking hand in hand as they're sheperded by daycare staff. It's looking up your cousins you haven't seen in person for almost 10, old friends you stopped talking to since they moved when you were 9 but you still care about them and you see them thriving and it makes you happy because they left a mark on you.

It's seeing a toy you only ever saw your friend have and every reference to it brings up the memories you shared. It's the lights off in the classroom while everyone else is outside feeling, you and your buddy listening to a band none of your peers even know about. It's watching the small mom and pop shop in your neighborhood grow and hear that they've opened up a new place, they're growing.

It makes me feel like things get better some how. And that not everything is doom and gloom all the time.
