Whenever you make psa posts, it has tags that are irrelevant or don't make sense to the post like "[Character] x reader." It could be for more reach or something else, but it also gets repetitive to see psa's while trying to find content.

Understandable. I mainly use tags not for reach but to specifically target the tags I see these issues happening the most in. That’s why I post certain characters x readers. I think getting PSAs that are pointing out a fact and trying to get people to stop clogging up tags is leagues better than people posting actual unrelated shit that have their own tags.

I’m not doing it for reach, like I said. I’m doing it to make sure certain people guilty of what the PSAs are about see it and hopefully cut that shit out. Hope this helps you get the reason.

If anyone finds it annoying, feel free to just block me. I won’t take offense to it, I don’t care. These PSAs need to be said.

Artists. STOP POSTING ART OF YOUR OC/SELF INSERT WITH CANON IN THE ‘CANON X READER’ TAG.

Same for fic writers. If your fic is an oc/self insert x canon (as in the MC has a name, is described physically, does not use reader/yn), DO NOT POST IT UNDER THE ‘CANON X READER’ OR ‘CANON X Y/N’ TAGS

It’s annoying, you’re clogging up the tag, and it’s just inconsiderate. Your fanart/fic is not an ‘X Reader’ piece. That’s not what that tag is for. If we wanted to read your shit we would have checked the appropriate tags, not the ‘x reader’ ones. Keep your shit under the ‘OC art’ or ‘OC X Canon‘ tags. Seriously.

Also wether you dummies want to accept it or not, AO3 is THE proshipper site. Made by and for proshippers. Those who don’t know that are clearly new to fandom and way too young to know the history. It’s not a claim it’s the literal history of it.

Short summary of the history. Fanfic.net mainly but many fanfiction sites were purging fics and censoring content. Group of people decided to create an archive with a thorough tagging system that upholds anti-censorship and fandom etiquette (proshipper ideals). They created AO3 for that purpose. Which is why it’s in their literal GUIDLINES that they DO NOT delete fics based on ‘this is icky fiction’ reports. They literally had to make an article recently going over these things BECAUSE of you idiots.

I think it’s weird to only care about the characters and then dismiss the horror aspect of the fandom when this is literally a HORROR project. Just because you like the character designs and your head-canons for them but ‘aren’t there for the horror’ or ‘don’t care for the horror’, that seems shallow to me. Considering the literal story these characters are in is horror. You’re saying you’re dismissing the entire story these characters are part of. That’s like saying “I don’t care for this anime but I like this one character’s design so I’ll just shove a bunch of headcanons on them and treat it like canon”.

If you dismiss the horror, what do you think the story is about then? It’s a horror story….

I don’t think you should engage in critical discussions if you’re going to dismiss the main point of the story behind the characters you are wanting to discuss, and if your points rely on your headcanons only.
