this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were “my battery is low and it is getting cold”. I know she’s a machine but I’m devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby

I’m touched by how affectionate Mulder feels towards Scully when she’s sleeping. It’s not creepy or intense. Its just very… gentle. It’s also incredible character continuity!!! As far back as Pusher he is just so careful with how he wakes her up. And in Alpha with the magazine booping. We CANNOT forget him covering her with a blanket in all things or the sweetest kiss in the world during The Truth. And now he’s straight up calling her adorbs.

Maybe it’s the only time Mulder feels completely comfortable treating her with all the care he feels for her… combined with how grateful he is to see her safe and curled up, and amusement at her tendency to fall asleep literally anyplace, anytime, even when he’s in the middle of talking to her.

Anyway. He loves her and has been down to cuddle for 25 years.
