sorry if someone already asked this question, but are you going to continue "The Key to His Heart" with rendocmartyn? recently found out about it and really enjoyed, so just wanted to know if there is any continuation of this story~

I do plan on finishing it! Same goes for all of my other (posted) WIPs as well. Doesn’t feel right to leave them unfinished.

I’m going to focus more on WIP then new fics probably, but I’ve been in a bit of a writing rut so I don’t know how soon I’d be able to get any of those done. I do plan to finish them though!

Vote for the lifeguard AU!!

So...I've reached 100 followers now (wowie, thanks guys <3) so I've decided to do a little poll to figure out what AU I work on next!

I'm working on a fic for the tiny apartment AU at the moment, but I'm close to finishing it. My plan was to take a little break from that AU once the fic is posted and work on something else (pizza AU?) but I've decided instead that I'll let my followers decide what they want to see from me!

I have...a lot of options. Including tiny apartment AU, since I'm certainly not opposed to working more on it! I've just been kinda focused on it a lot lately, and I have other AUs. But if enough people want me to keep working on it, well...I won't say no.

I have...a lot of options. I'll give brief summaries of each one to help you decide what you want the most! Some also have more written for them than others, while others still are much longer than others (one AU I have dubbed the "longfic" since...well, it's going to be long).

Below the poll is a summary of the AUs, in the order that they appear in the poll.

Pizza AU

The AU in which Grian works at a pizza place and Scar comes in every week at a ridiculous hour to get a pizza. Found here. This fic is fully outlined, though I've not written much for chapter 2.

Tiny Apartment AU

The one you all know and love. No? Just me? Oh well. I still have a LOT planned for this AU. So many WIPs I've started and still other fics for the series I have planned but haven't actually started. If this wins, I might do another poll with some of the WIPs and let y'all decide which one to work on from there. Maybe.

Lifeguard AU

This one's a fun one! Scar works as a lifeguard. Pearl does, too, and one day she drags her brother (Grian) out of the house and convinces (bribes) him to go with her. He complains the whole way there...until he gets a look at Scar. And when Scar's shift ends and he goes to talk to Grian, he decides that maybe going out of the house to the pool isn't the worst idea. I don't have much for this AU yet. I've started it, but it's not a lot, and I only have some ideas for some scenes. This one also has t4t scarian. just 'cause. Both are transmasc

Longfic

Called such because...well, it's gonna be long. It's currently at about 7k words. Technically it's the long series - it'll be a series of fics that span over the entirety of the life series. Each fic is a season, and it also features some stuff back on Hermitcraft in between each. For now, I'll just work on 3rd life. Oh, also, it's mainly from Scar's POV (though there will likely also be a fic with some scenes from Grian's POV). Basically a deep dive into 3rd life, with canon scenes and some of the...in between.

Royalty AU

Scar is a prince, and Grian the knight assigned to be his bodyguard. Except it's really more to keep him in line, because Scar has the tendency to go off and do his own thing, so his parents assign Grian -someone known to take no shit and takes his duty very seriously - as his bodyguard. At the start, they don't really like each other that much. Over time, though, they get closer. Much closer.

Fallen Watcher AU

You guys remember that guardian angel AU? This is that but I've reworked it a bit. Rather than being a guardian angel, Grian is a Watcher. He's put in charge of Watching Scar. The Watchers have some sort of plan I haven't quite figured out yet, but it involves Scar dying. But Grian...has grown attached to him. He doesn't want Scar to die. But as a Watcher, he's not allowed to do more than just Watch. But he interferes anyway, saving Scar's life, and the Watchers are furious so they cast him out. So now he has to deal with being mortal all while the guy he saved the life of keeps flirting with him.

Ranchers fic

Something that's...not scarian! Wow. Nobody tell them but this is mainly for Grace. It's a double life ranchers fic with (poorly) hidden injury. Since...well, kind of hard to hide an injury when the other can feel your pain.

So...yeah! There's the AUs for this poll. I have more, of course, but these are sorta the main ones. Whichever wins I'll work on after I finish a tiny apartment AU fic. Depending on which AU wins, I may also work on the second place winner alongside it. We'll see.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Chapter 13: The End of the Apocalypse… at Least for Two

Summary:

Scar pulls back from the kiss, grinning widely down at Grian even though he’s panting. Grian mirrors the smile and murmurs, “Hi handsome.”

His grin grows, “Hey light of my life.”

Grian responds by pulling him into a kiss again, the response mirroring the angel comment too much for him to reply to it in any other way. Scar responds to the kiss eagerly, pressing even closer.

It’s almost like he’s drowning in the feeling of it all, being so completely surrounded by Scar, his back almost pressed against the wall. Grian tightens his grip around Scar’s neck and shoulders, keeping him close, he doesn’t care if the feeling devours him.

Summary:

Grian lets that information settle before adding on, “I can handle that on my own… except that I can’t reach the feathers where my wings meet my back.” He shifts his wings and grimaces, “It’s more uncomfortable than anything else.”

Scar frowns, “That’s still not good.” He pauses before hesitantly offering, “I could help you. If you’re fine with that I mean!” he quickly adds on, recalling how protective of his wings Grian always seems to be.

A blush quickly covers his face and he glances away, “I- well- it’s just… personal.”

“Personal…? I don’t get it.”

“An avian’s wings are… sensitive and… preening is a very intimate thing.”

“Ah,” Scar mumbles, blushing himself as he realizes. “I- I still can, if you don’t mind.

”Yeah?” Grian whispers back.

“Yeah,” he echoes, “although you’d have to teach me.”

Chapter 11: Death Lingers

Summary:

Grian laughs quietly, closing the distance between them and scooping Scar up before he can protest. He makes a noise in surprise, quickly grabbing onto Grian in return.

Grian quickly heads to the edge of the building, not hesitating to step off of it. He holds Scar close against him as he falls, wings only spread out a little bit.

As they near the ground, Grian snaps his wings all of the way out, giving a strong downbeat to stop their fall. Scar yelps and clings even tighter to Grian at the sudden jolt. He lands a moment later.

Ok, none of you know what's going on. None of you understand why so many women and young streamers are stepping forward right now. None of you understand why this has to be public.

Multiple large streamers have used their fame, influence, and money to manipulate and abuse those they see as below them. So long as they continue to have fame, influence, and money, this cycle will not end.

This is bigger than just individual cases of sexual assault or other abuse. This is a break down of a much larger problem within the entertainment industry.

These women are telling stories about very powerful men in this space. They are sharing stories of abuse and manipulation. This is very scary for them—it could ruin their careers or lives.

Stop saying "they should have handled this privately." This isn't a private matter. So long as these men have power, they will hurt more women. They aren't sorry. They won't play fair.

By trying to stay silent and bury these accusations, you are ensuring these women never know peace. You are ensuring that more women get hurt.

One day your boss will assault you, and all the men in your life will blame you for waiting as long as you did to speak about it. They will find any reason to blame you. They don't want to get rid of your boss. They hope that one day, they can assault a woman just like you.

This is fucking serious. This is real life. This isn't just some fucking fandom drama that we can bury and move on from. These are real life issues that require real meaningful discussion.

Stop trying to discredit these women just because your streamer is in trouble. You are part of the fucking problem.

Chapter 10: An Open Heart

Summary:

Scar tightens his grip on Grian as they sit there, not as preferable as kissing, but still very nice. Grian tightens his grip a fraction in return. They sit there for a long time in silence, Scar would rather be nowhere else.

It feels nice to bask in the warmth of it, Grian pressed against him, wings fanned out partially around them. Scar can’t help but stare at Grian’s wings, just as in awe with the array of colors as he was the first time he saw them.
