Hi all,

I am hoping that you will be able to help!

I host a podcast once a week with a friend (@palmetto-blue ) all about the incredibleness that is romance, and we have decided to do an episode looking at a couple of fanfics.

Here's my dilemma. I have read so many incredible ones that I am stuck as to what to choose.

I know that I am looking for ShieldShock, WinterShock or WinterShieldShock...so, could you recommend your faves and let me know why you love them?

Urgh...

Have you ever started something and wished that you hadn’t?

Last week I purchased a book. Not just any book, probably the worst book ever written! And I am still reading it...

Why? You might well ask. Well, when I first started my podcast with my friend I wanted it to be fun, informative, but mostly fun...and it is. But then a book came out by an author who is both shit and controversial (because she’s shit). And I decided that it would be a good idea to read this book so I could make an informed judgement.

This book is painful. It’s repetitive, the characters are massive contradictions (and not in a good way), the plot is so full of holes it makes Swiss cheese look secure, and it’s taken me a week to read 33% of it on my Kindle because I keep on having to stop and read something else to cleanse my brain.

Fanfiction has been my saviour, so thank you to every single person who has posted something in the Darcyverse this week...Seriously, a MASSIVE THANK YOU.

You are possibly (not definitely) confused, and wondering what this awful book is (maybe)...it’s “The Mister” by EL James. My recommendation, on having read only a third of it is, DON’T...really, don’t pick this up unless you want your brain to melt and dribble out of your ears. It’s awful, dreadful, dire, pitiful, pathetic, horrendous and I am so disappointed that an established publisher like Penguin (in the UK) dropped to such a level that the only thing (clearly) they are thinking of is profit.
