I just hate how cis straight people are considered normal and average and never have to come out. Why. WHY.
yeah like????? assuming cishetness as default is basically the root of all our problems??????? i hate it
bUT that doesn’t mean that cis and straight people should start “coming out” to prove a point (at least, not yet) because that just ends up taking more attention away from trans and queer people yeah

Don't Misgender Non-Binary Individuals
If you meet someone who is trans or non-binary (i.e does not identify w/ their assigned gender) ALWAYS refer to them with the pronouns or gender they identify with. For example don't EVER use the following phrases:
-They used to be a girl
-They're really a guy but they cal themselves a girl
-She's really a he
The person REALLY is the gender they identify with. They may have been assigned female at birth (AFAB) or male at birth (AMAB) but this was never their gender. These phrases are examples of misgendering. Don't do it.

Friendly reminder that bisexual is the word the creators of Avatar used when talking about Korrasami.
Not straight. Not lesbian.
Bisexual.
so you can knock it off with the bi erasure now. We’re allowed to have representation too, you know.

Here’s the sexuality section of the posters my GSA will be putting up around the school!
These posters are by no means exhaustive and I only put the bare basics of each sexuality on the poster. If there’s a glaring error in a definition or something please tell me so I can fix it before we put these up in real life!

When people say “pick a side”, they’re really saying “pick a closet”.

When people actively refuse to use your pronouns, that sends a message. Here are ten things that this refusal actually signifies to the trans person.
If you haven’t already seen this article, read it now. It’s not a cheesy 10-inane-things list, it’s actually spot in highlighting why pronouns are so important, and why ignoring someone’s request, despite good intentions, can have a significant impact on them.
