I've searched every corner of the internet to try to find an answer, and can't find one, so here we are. I use "bro" and "dude" literally all the time, and I'm friends with nonbinary people so that makes them uncomfortable, can you help me find some gender neutral words to replace those please???
i personally use "homie" a lot!! you can also use "bestie" if you're feeling that vibe, or "everypony" if you wanna give people whiplash

I've seen a lot of people talk about not getting traction on tumblr lately, especially in Writeblr circles. And as someone who's been around long enough to watch the landscape change, and watch people come and go, I thought I'd offer some tips.
Interact with other writers
This seems like an obvious first step, but a lot of people don't really take it on board. Think about the sort of reaction you'd like to receive, and then do that for others. Did you share your writing and hope someone would like it, comment on it, or maybe share it? Do that for others. If you see someone's writing and you like it, consider reblogging it and adding tags/comments to express your thoughts.
If you want to participate in ask games, consider adding a note to your bio/intro post that you're open to tags. Then share a bit of your writing in a game, and tag other people. If you want asks, remember to send asks. Don't expect something for nothing.
Be a positive force
No one wants to interact with someone who's discouraging and negative all the time. Put your best face forward! Obviously this doesn't mean there isn't room for negative posts - we all vent from time to time - but don't make it your entire personality. Show some enthusiasm for being part of the writing community, and show excitement in your work. If you don't care about being here, why should anyone else care that you are? If you don't care about your writing, why should anyone else want to read it?
Actively seek improvement
We're all learning. No one is a perfect writer, and there's a whole world of information out there. Try new techniques, try a different genre if you're looking for a change. Look to improve. And don't be afraid to ask for constructive feedback if you're unsure about something or if you're struggling with your writing.
~
It also helps to remember that there's a wealth of different peoples on tumblr - if you haven't found your fit yet, keep looking. Not everyone will gel with you, and that's fine. It takes time to become part of a community.

second chance romance prompts
feel free to use <3
they were childhood friends
they were ‘dating’ during their childhood
alternatively, they met once during their childhood so it’s less of a second chance at romance and more of a second chance to meet each other and be friends… THEN lovers <3
the moment when they see each other again for the “first” time and the reader is feeling the tension build
“i never thought i would see you again.”
“why didn’t you say goodbye?”
“did you try to call me at all?”
they hated each other during their childhood or teenage years, but they meet again during adulthood
a sudden meeting in the most mundane place ever, maybe a supermarket or a salon, and a flustered “when can i see you again?”
instead of “when can i see you again?”, the hesitant “… can i see you again?” because they don’t know where they stand or if the other person has a partner now
the awkward reintroduction when they’re not sure whether to act like they know each other or not
one pretending not to know the other and the other going “do you not remember me?”
the confession like: “so i guess what im asking is… do you want my heart again?” and the response, “you’ve always had my heart, name.”
“i still love you.” and “i never stopped loving you.” austin and ally enthusiasts yall know what i’m talking about
“i dont know if i’ve ever missed anyone or anything as much as i missed you. i didn’t know missing someone like that was possible.”
“i don’t think it was a coincidence that we met again.”
“i’d like to spend forever with you, now. i think we deserve that after all the time apart.” “i agree with you one hundred percent, my love.”

Have you ever asked for writing advice and then just got the like.... worst advice ever?
Like, you don't want to be that person who can't take criticism but.... the criticism you got is actually the worst?
If anyone wants to share their stories about this in reblogs/comments they can. We can suffer together. Also, if you anyone is interested, I can show you the critique I got.

Bellflower and Allie being cute
EDIT: How could I forget Allie’s favorite bug plush! I also changed Allie’s feet because they were broken and reversed. Also changed the color of Bellflower’s shorts but that’s the minor detail I decided at last minute. Also than you ALL for the love you have given this work!!!
Just @dollpuppets oc Allie Sweetie and my Bellflower Bat doing the blep at each other cutely. Belle loves Allie like a nephew(even a son) and she’s so happy he’s not afraid of her. Also I decided Bellflower’s wings needed fluff, at least the back of them. Hope I did Allie right @dollpuppets and I hope everybody enjoys this cute lil’ picture.
Welcome Home @partycoffin

One reason you might not be very "good" about a trans loved one's pronouns or the language you use for them might stem from memorizing what they want, rather than actually changing how you view them.
For instance, my trans friend came out rather late compared to me. However, since internalizing that I wasn't really correct about who she is, because she's a woman and I didn't know that, it was instantaneous to refer to her by her name, to use language that accurately reflects her instead of what I thought she was.
When you actually internalize that a loved one is actually this way instead of what you thought, it makes it so much easier to truly and actually change your perspective on them.
In short, are you memorizing who they are, or are you actually learning who they are?

I really love your fashion choice for your characters!!
How do you design the outfits on your oc, and what are your tips in character design?
Ooof~! I answered this one HELLA late (○ ⋏ ○)…
But here's the answer for anyone interested!
Tip Numero 1:
Have a clear description of your character’s personality and fashion sense. I guess this is pretty self-explanatory lol, but it’s very helpful! If you understand enough about how your character acts, you can get a pretty good idea of what type of clothes they’d wear~!
For example, my monster girly Amour and Peacock!
For peacock, I knew I wanted a bubbly cropped street look to match her personality. And adding rips and tears to give that quintessential zombie look added to how explosive her style and optimism can be.
Then we have Amour. She’s….. something alright! As a fallen cherub, I thought it would be cute if she wore a blazer to match the pure nature of where she’s from. But…. She is anything but pure. Despite this, I still gave her a cutesy pastel love core-esqe look, so it can be a bit of a subversion of expectations for her character. The type of person who looks like they wouldn’t hurt a fly, yet then proceeds to smash said fly into the ground with her weapon and keep beating it with a smile on her face even though the fly is far gone past tense- Ooop, got a little distracted there.
Tip Number 2:
What if you’re just character designing on the fly, and don’t have a concrete idea for this character yet? You know what helps? Drumroll please *drumroll*
PINTEREST~!
Now you gotta be careful with Pinterest since it’s notoriously known for taking people’s art and not crediting them. So if you’re using another’s artwork as REFERENCE (we’ll get back to this later) for an outfit, make sure to at least find them and give ‘em a follow. You can even put the artist’s name in the pin’s comment section.
Now back to the Referencing thing. When taking ANY pins from Pinterest, be sure you’re not straight up copying or tracing it, that’s not cool! What you want to do is find specific things that you’d like on your character, and very loosely reference it which means you’re gonna have to use that noggin and be creative~! I believe in you. Using color palettes online can also help spark inspiration
When you get your references, I usually put them in one place, using Milanote, which is an app on the AppStore. (If you can’t use that, just put the references on another canvas in your art program of choice). Here’s an example of one I made for my character Cyan:
Chippu Bango 3:
Trial and error. Look, you’re not always gonna get the winning design first try. Even to this day, there will be characters I made in middle school that I’ve redesigned 5 or more times to get it right. I mean… look at Peacock’s first designs:
Just don’t be too hard on yourself, character design is fun, but if it gets too frustrating, walk away for a bit and come back with fresh new eyes. You’re not gonna satisfy everyone with your design, but if you can satisfy yourself, that’s what counts~!
——————————————————-
That’s all I can say for now, let me know what you think of my techniques!
Byyyyieeeeee~! ( ꈍ ω ꈍ)ノ~ *:・゚
