Sorry but this question is rude and a little offensive. Not just to Ty and Dru but to anyone who actually lives with anxiety.

You cannot measure or compare pain, it doesn’t work like that. Even two people with so called identical life experiences will not react the same way. We’re people, not templates.

Both Dru and Ty have dealt with A LOT and both Dru and Ty are strong as fuck, just in very different aspects. This comparison game is absolutely unnecessary.

Hi Cassie!! Sorry to bother you but I feel like Ty would be more likely to have panic attacks than Dru. I have evaluated the situation and Ty seems to have more trauma and anxiety than her. Adding onto that I’m hoping Kit and Ash don’t have too similar powers. I feel like Kit should be more powerful as Ash only as Ash didn’t get much powers especially since the king didn’t have the black volume the whole time he had Ash. I also think Kit she be more powerful than Magnus for reasons.

I've gotten a lot of emails about how Ty should be the one who has panic attacks, not Dru. Usually the idea is that he should have panic attacks because he has 'more trauma and anxiety' than Dru, specifically because of Livvy's death and Ty being "more close" to her.

The thing is, that isn't how characters work because it isn't how people work. “Amount of trauma” is not an objective measurable thing, and not everyone responds the same ways even to the same things happening to them.

Of course Ty and Dru have both experienced trauma. But it is not as if there is a certain "level of trauma", like "level 6" beyond which everyone has panic attacks, and Ty is a trauma 7 while Dru is only a trauma 5. None of that is how people work or panic disorders work or really how anything works. The question is a lot about, I think, an anxiety that somehow because Dru has panic attacks this means the narrative will consider Ty to have no trauma at all and be dandy about everything, and I can only say that that's not the case.

One thing I rarely see acknowledged in these letters is that Ty is not grieving Livvy currently. Everyone else in his family is, but he lives with her, she talks to him all the time, she's entirely present in his life. Yes, she is a ghost, but people can get by on a lot less than Ty has with Livvy. I think it's worth noting that what Ty is currently experiencing re: Livvy is not grief but denial.

At the end of the day, there are all sorts of ways of responding to trauma and grief. The acknowledgement that someone has been through trauma is not something they have to earn, nor are panic attacks a thing given to one character at the expense of another who has somehow deserved them more. What is important about how characters respond to loss and trauma is that it be consistent with the character and their growth, and that's something that can't be evaluated before a book is read. :)

As for Kit having the most powers of anyone, well, we will see. It's not really how power works in the Shadowhunter world. We don't spend a lot of time thinking about whether Clary or Magnus is more powerful because what they can do is so different, and what Kit and Ash can do is also very different. Also in evaluating who gets what power level I would say it's important to consider whether they will be friends or deadly enemies – which is something we don't yet know!

I can see a familiarity between Tatiana Blackthorn and Ty’s arcs. Could you add to them?

Wearing ‘blood-stained’ objects like the blackthorn locket and Tatiana’s dresses (blood being from their murdered loved ones)

Tatiana summoning Belial to help resurrected Jesse and Rupert

Belial’s Gray eyes (and Tessa’s) and Ty’s gray/silver eyes

Both (trying) to resurrect a murdered loved one

I tend to disagree with you there, truthfully. These are circumstantial and misread, for example:

1. Ty kept his sister’s locket because of its blood, to bring her back. Now, it’s clean of blood, and he only wears it as an emotional connection. If anything, it’s more similar to Julian wearing a strip of cloth soaked with Livvy’s blood.

Tatiana, unlike them, is making a mockery of grief. She’s soaking in her pain, flaunting it, warping it, to excuse her actions.

2. Ty summoned no demon for Livvy, nor I believe he ever would. Even in his grief, he would never have done that.

3. Ty’s eye coloring has nothing to do with Tatiana or Belial or Tessa, it’s more to do with him being a Blackthorn - we know some had those eyes. We know no more of the reason behind it, just what CC said it isn’t.

4. This is the only true resemblance - them trying to resurrect a loved one. Tho by the end of it, I don’t really think Tatiana was truly trying to bring back Jesse, she was trying to hurt the Shadowhunters. She used him as a symbol and as an excuse for her actions, against his wishes. She gave his body to the actual devil.

That is NOT love.

The connections between the series are TDA and TLH - from CC’s perspective. How TWP will come to play is still unclear, but I’m sure there will be more connections as I still keep in mind the series Cassandra and Cassandra did with princes of hell - it’s clearly a weaving line through TLH, TWP and the upcoming last installment of TEC.

We just have to wait and see 😉

I think we’ll get the actual date of the ragpicker king and most likely of twp1.

Maybe we’ll get the year of the rest of the series and a possibly a vague sense of when her other projects are planned for.

I wouldn’t count on more.

Tbh I don't think we'd be getting release dates so soon if we had to wait another 2 years? Early to mid 2025 seems the most plausible to me, I think late 2025 is the worst case scenario

Why is Kitty an afterthought in this set-up? 😭 We knew Dru was going to be a main character, but this very much sounds like she's centering the Dru/Ash romance? I don't know, there's something about this that I don't like :/

Don’t worry about it.. she recently said on her IG that Kitty and Dru are the main three and there’s no one character more important than the other. She said it’s not a case of Cordelia-James-Lucie.
