"Samuel"

Another request! This is a friend of mine from high school. I liked the pic of him so I sketched it.

Done in mechanical pencil. This was a challenging one because of the lighting in the situation. I still sketched it though so it was done with the usual methods, but I tried for a different shading method. Shading came out differently, maybe more choppy, but almost similar to past sketches.

Requested by her sister smile emoticon I loved the profile picture so I sketched it. I hope it's okay.

Done with mechanical pencil. Same methods used as usual, hair is getting better, and all is done more efficiently, ..I think.

It is my first time so everything is mediocre: lighting, angle, quality, etc. In future recordings I will do better! "Calvin and Hobbes" - Bill Watterson Video - Al Mahiyan

Music: “Slowly, Slowly” - The Mowgli’s

This is one of my favorite comic book series! When I heard this song I immediately thought of this video idea and thought of making it over the past few days. It is a tribute to one of the best comics ever. Calvin and Hobbes teaches many things about life and explores broad issues. They both are named after John Calvin and Thomas Hobbes. I give much praise to the author, Bill Watterson, for making such a heartwarming, insightful comic. Heartwarming is a main point I capture with this video by showing their friendship.

My drawings come at the end of the video to show how life unfortunately does progress and we grow up and can leave behind the things that made our childhood what it was. But, it can be necessary as Hobbes realizes in order for Calvin to mature. Calvin was going to grow up eventually and although sad, Hobbes is happy for him. Of course, this is my take on it because I love them a lot, and it fits my page theme and what I want to convey about life, love, and loss.

"I Am" I will post new drawings soon. I've had exams and have been kind of busy so here is another poem, but short. Take care.

"Constriction" This poem is for a special someone. She asked me to write this for her so I wrote it "through" her like my previous poem on cancer. She poured her heart out to me.. She is going through alot now with her family relating to culture, tradition, religion, etc. In this case, Islam. There are people who still deal with this situation today, and I wish I could be there for them all. I'm very sorry for her and I wish I could do more. I'm happy to be there for her how I can. “Fuck Cancer”

Over time I’ve come to grips with things (that I kept quiet) that I experienced while growing up. I feel something like this can/should be shared. I hope you guys will read this and reblog it.

A friend of mine from a different high school, she asked me to write a poem about her, but I said that I would write one through her. I wrote this when I was 16 close to 17 and it was kinda difficult rewriting it. This was the last thing I could give her.

Stuff like this is uncomfortable and obviously depressing I understand, but it is scary and real. People generally avoid such topics. I myself am not outspoken on this stuff, and am shy to express it, but I’m willing to spread the knowledge that it is a terrifying thing, and more people should just be aware at least. Take the time to help out in what way you can.

Bullying? Atrocious, but I can’t act like I don’t know what that is, and I can’t act like it’s not a big part of what she went through, but it’s not what pained me or her the most. I really miss her.
