I can't fathom the fact that some people watch a movie, show or read a book they like and they just go: "I liked it :)" and that's it....girl how?? Whenever I like a movie, tv show, book or musical I need to inhale that piece of media like it's air, I need to self insert myself in it and create an elaborate plot line for my character in it, then I listen to music that reminds me of the piece of media and think of it 24/7, while obsessively rewatching scenes and analyzing every bit of it till I notice details nobody has seen, finally, I try to convince people to watch it with me so that I can experience it for the first time through them. Then my obsession dies and I feel empty until the next one comes along..... and you're telling me people can enjoy something and just...go to sleep and not think of it again????

This scene is so painfully realistic - her trying to use sex as a coping mechanism for the hurt inflicted by her mother, who hit square at all her worst inadequacies, everything hidden behind the sunny veneer (nobody knows how to hurt you as precisely as those closest to you.) And ML can tell something is off but she repeatedly refuses to tell him anything is off and keeps making moves (because it's not just her hurt that is real, her desire is real too.)

That make out is epic but it's not swoonworthy because you feel dread throughout - you know it's going to South somehow, the only question is when - before they get to sex, during, or after. Also, my eyes at his mentioning taking off her prosthetic - dramas never get into that sort of thing. But that's the thing - she's trying to cover her vulnerability by having sex but having sex, especially when it involves the full sight of her leg, is the most vulnerable thing and it's all going to explode.

And yup, it blows up! At least it did before he was in her. My God.

Man, I bet MDL, that never met a complex FL it didn't loathe, hated her after this. But I just feel so terrible for them both because this is so logical for where they are and who they are and so so so damaged.
