So I have some thoughts about the teaser that I want to post here.
First off, it looks like Tyler is going to be in what looks to be Willowhill for at least part of the season
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You’ll notice the same CGI suit, and the same crutch-like contraption to make the arms longer. The reason why I think they’re in Willowhill is because of the bright red light around them. Seems to me like an alarm of some sort. That and the metal door behind Tim that is reminiscent of a prison door. So we know Tyler is most likely in Willowhill Psychiatric Hospital for at least part of the season.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Enid looks great. I love the new hair and the black polish on the ring nail is beyond adorable. I do wonder about this werewolf statue. My first thought was that it was a tribute to Enid for defeating the Hyde, but someone mentioned it looked too weathered. I still don’t want to put that theory to rest though, just because I don’t know of any other locations where there would be a werewolf statue. Plus I like the thought of Enid being commemorated for what she did.
Tumblr media
I have some theories about this shot, but most of them rely on the Reddit leaker being correct so I won’t voice them right now. However, I do want to say that I don’t believe it’s the stalker that she is torturing in this moment.
Tumblr media
With this one, it looks to me like she is either in or just came out of a vision. I’m not entirely sure though. That’s just judging by the messy hair and flustered look.
Tumblr media
Pugsley enrolled in Nevermore :) super excited for this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My best guess with these shots is that Wednesday, Bianca, Eugene, and Enid are being heralded as heroes of Nevermore. If you look closely you can see four figures on the poster behind Wednesday. One of them is clearly Wednesday herself, with the other clearly being Bianca. I think Eugene and Enid are featured on there as well.
I’m pretty stoked for season 2. It looks really cool so far and I can’t wait for when they release actual trailers. Anyway, those are most of my important thoughts about the teaser. Just thought I’d point some things out.

You know what would be fantastic but I'm not hedging bets on?
If the season one novelization is used in season two as the book Wednesday was able to get published as her first work. Titled something like
Hyde Hunt
Viper de la Muerte Book One
Little meta storytelling.
Of course names would be changed in the in show version of the book.
Bonus points if Wednesday herself is oblivious to how all the Wenclair scenes sound.
This could also explain why it's not a one to one accurate retelling. She is making edits to true events and making a more cohesive story narrative.
Im ngl I would absolutely love this. I don’t think they’d do this, but I would Love some meta storytelling. My thought is that the book is course correction; drawing Wednesday away from Xavier and Tyler and reinforcing that wenclair is the main relationship of the show, platonic or not. But I wish they would do something like this because it would be so cool.

My Thoughts on the Wednesday Novelization:
Okay so I have no clue how long this post is going to be, so bear with me. This is coming from someone who has been hyperfixated on the show for over a year and has watched it through multiple times, written fanfiction about it, and debated the characters and their motivations tirelessly.
1. Characterization
First up is the big hitter. The characterization of Wednesday specifically, since the book is written in her voice. I’ve seen a lot of controversy surrounding this. A lot of people have been saying that Wednesday was too emotional, that she was too sympathetic and cared too much about what other people think. To this, I heartily disagree.
We see throughout the book how she gradually begins caring more about the others around her. At first, she sees them only as allies; which is a very Wednesday thing to do. She only compromises because people like Enid or Tyler offer her loyalty, and she feels the need to offer something in return. And of course, the more they offer her their loyalty, the more she feels as though she can open up to them. She’s still human, after all, Addams or not. While most people would assume (wrongly) that Wednesday operated on a strictly “take, not give” mentality, it’s clear in the show itself that this isn’t the case. She still compromises in the show. The only reason people don’t agree now is because they created their own perceptions on why Wednesday was compromising, while it was clear to others all along that this was because she wanted to keep her allies close in case she needed help.
Wednesday, in the novelization, approaches everything from a strategical standpoint. Which is exactly how I’d expect her to approach things. She keeps a careful catalogue of her enemies and suspects, of who she can or can’t trust with evidence. Which, again, is what I had gathered from Jenna’s acting in the show.
Concerning the care she felt for Enid, among others:
I do not think the way she felt about Enid or the way their relationship developed was out of character at all. Wednesday said it herself, it felt to her as though Enid was the only one who accepted her up front no matter who she was or what she said or did. Enid was the only one who didn’t expect her to be someone else or a simple projection of what she wanted. Wednesday appreciated Enid’s willingness to be an ally even knowing that Wednesday wasn’t a good person. And it caused her to grow attached to the one person who accepted her no matter what. Even when Wednesday put her in danger, Enid still came back. And Wednesday appreciated that more than anything. I really think it’s incorrect to say that it’s out of character how much Wednesday cared about Enid. Enid was Wednesday’s first real friend, and put her life on the line for Wednesday. Of course they’re going to be inseparable, in Wednesday’s words, after something like that.
2. Theme
I’ve read a lot of books and done a lot of English classes and writing in my time. I usually look for themes in books, and it’s pretty clear to me that the theme of this book is friendship and navigating it, as corny as that sounds.
The entire book follows Wednesday learning what it means to be a true friend. What it means to open up and be vulnerable with others, what it means to put trust and confidence in them, and what it means to rely on others. Towards the end, there’s a passage where she realizes she’s never been alone.
Tumblr media
In this book, Wednesday learned what it means to grow and foster a community of people who care about you. People who you can rely on. She comes to care about Enid, Eugene, even Bianca. All of them help her in some way, and all of them give her a shoulder to rely on at some point. She learns that having allies are nice, but having friends, people who are truly in your corner, is even better. And that there are specific ways to treat friends, and specific ways to keep them. She learned that sometimes compromises are important, and that it’s okay to not agree with some things, but it doesn’t mean that has to be the end of the friendship. And she learned just how deeply her care for her friends, as well as their care for her, truly goes.
One could say that this book is corny. One could say that it’s cringe, or that it’s not canon to them. All of that is completely fine. But in my eyes, this book has absolutely done Wednesday’s character justice and proven what I already knew: she’s not a psychopath like so many people paint her out to be. Maybe she was in previous iterations, but this is a new iteration, a new character. And she most definitely cares deeply about those who show their loyalty to her, about those who prove to her that they can trust her. Enid, Thing, Eugene, even Bianca. They created a sense of community to battle a common enemy and won. And Wednesday learned that she couldn’t have done it on her own.
I’m excited to see how her character continues to develop in season 2 and further. I’m excited to see how those around her affect her in new ways, and who she’ll ultimately grow to be. I loved this novelization of season one, and I loved the insight it gave us into Wednesday’s thoughts and her character arcs.
Anyway! That’s all, thanks for reading 🫶
Edit: my bad this turned into an essay. If I missed anything or you want my opinion on anything, let me know :)

I'm always suspicious when it comes to lesbian content and streaming services, especially because shows with lesbian characters are usually not promoted or cancelled, while shows with gay male characters are constantly considered successes and renewed, like Heartstopp3r (even though I have a gay friend who insists that Heartstopp3r is for teen girls, not for gay young men like him). That said, there should be a reason why MGM deliberately chose a writer who has a stream of successful novels with lesbian characters to write this novelization. What do you think?
Alrighty anon. I have like two thoughts on this. MGM are the people who created Wednesday, then sold it to Netflix. Here’s what I think is going on.
1. This is the way MGM intended the series to happen. The author used the original scripts before Netflix got their hands on them, and this is how season one was supposed to go down before Netflix essentially turned it into a YA love triangle nonsense.
2. Netflix wanted to have some course correction of some sort and take out the romance that everyone hated so much and instead put in some wenclair crumbs for the queer fans. Everyone knows that the majority of the fanbase prefers wenclair, and Netflix isn’t stupid. Something like this will (and most likely is) getting them a lot of money.
Whether wenclair will be translated to the screen or not, I’m not sure. My guess is they will leave the series open-ended with hints towards wenclair, if nothing else. But to be completely honest, my bet is with the first option. That this is how the series was intended and it was written using the original scripts. I can’t see why else some of the lines would have been changed in the way that they were. It’s possible that the intended love triangle was supposed to be between Enid and Tyler, because in the book Wednesday shows no regard for Xavier whatsoever. But that’s just my opinion. Of course we have no clue what goes on behind the scenes.

Can we also see what/how Wednesday sees Tyler or Xavier? Lol I am curious now cause I saw some and said Tyler is like an unsolved puzzle. Is that about it? No detailing about smooth skin or adorable fanged smile? Lol
Yeah, she doesn’t really describe Tyler much. Here’s a few scenes from them. Lmk if you want like specific ones though.

The “haunted look” stuff is her describing Xavier.

Hey everyone, Aly here.
I wanted to check in and kind of explain my absence. I know I’ve been incredibly flaky on and off for the last few months or so. I feel incredibly bad for disappearing off the face of the earth constantly and for leaving my stories unfinished. I still get comments from people on my fics, and I genuinely appreciate the continued support.
Unfortunately, on and off for the past three or four months, I’ve been continually harassed and threatened by people. Death threats specifically, as well as other things that I won’t say because of how tasteless and just mean they are. This has honestly really affected me in more ways than one.
It’s affected my comfortability being in the public eye in any way. It’s affected my drive and motivation to write (both original works and fanfiction). It’s affected my interest in wenclair and I feel as though it’s driven a wedge between myself and my works.
The reason I bring this up now is to explain my absence. I think I’m going to try to start writing and posting again. I’m not sure how quickly I will be able to get chapters out, but I will try and get them out regardless. I love this fandom and these characters, and I love my works and the people who read them. I don’t want that to come to an end because of people who want to hurt me. But I did want to explain rather than disappearing off the edge of the earth, never to be seen again.
Thank you, to those of you who have been supportive. It genuinely means more than you’ll ever know.

Omg, what if the reason why Enid’s wolf looks so unfinished is because she was never meant to wolf out that night in the first place? But, her need to save Wednesday overpowered it and gave her that rush of adrenaline that pushed her body over the edge. But since it wasn’t meant to happen that night, some things are not fully developed yet. Because her wolf has powerful shoulders but a really tiny mid-section and scrawny arms.
lol, idk, I just really want her wolf to have an updated design. Or I’m hoping they show how she grew into it during the semester break.
Wait I actually really love this and it would make a LOT of sense. It’s a shame we never got to see a fully fledged werewolf or even a picture of one so we knew what they’re supposed to look like.
Honestly, either way, I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a difference between what the werewolf looked like in s1 and what it will look like in s2. I think with better CGI and a better budget they’ll be able to make the werewolf and the Hyde look better. I would LOVE if they explained it like this though. You’re a genius anon.

I am still stuck on Enid cutting up the bus and screaming in anger, i feel like we should explore that some more.
This!!! Because I keep seeing people act like Enid is some one dimensional happy go lucky sunshine character when she very clearly has compose issues of her own. She literally shreds a metal bus, she asks a guy out to the dance only to make someone else jealous, she shreds up another team’s boat in the Poe Cup when the only other person we see DIRECTLY do that is Wednesday herself. Enid is not afraid to play dirty to get what she wants. And she very clearly has the ability to be darker. That’s something I really want them to explore next season, is the depth of Enid’s character and the anger that is brewing beneath the mask that she puts up. Girlypop has had it rough. Having all these expectations thrust upon her and being outcasted even among other outcasts. And then when she finally feels like she fits in with someone, they use her or abandon her. Like give her a break please but also I want to see her finally go feral. She should get to be a little violent as a treat.

I think I die a little on the inside every time I hear someone say that Wednesday’s “indelible” speech was anything other than her attempting words of affirmation. Like yes she says “when I grow nauseous I’ll think of you” but you guys are focusing on the wrong part!! She literally says “the mark you have left on me is indelible” she says she’ll NEVER FORGET ENID. After Enid asked if Wednesday will forget about her and move on. Wednesday says she NEVER WILL. GUYS. Please your media literacy is fighting for its life rn she was SO obviously attempting to be kind to Enid in her own Wednesday way I literally don’t understand how that isn’t clear.
