Shakespeare’s Code has my brain going 😵‍💫😵‍💫
(Warning: spoilers)
Omg, the undoing of what was done at the end of season one… Whhyy…?? I kinda hate those endings that are like, “it was all a dream!” Or, the person’s memory was erased so it’s like nothing happened. Why did I just spend all that time reading/watching/playing then?! It just feels like a giant mind f*ck.
Anyway, so someone stole the quill from Amabelle, rewrote everything that happened, then returned the quill back to Amabelle? Why?! Why not just keep the quill? So now the story is being rewritten by someone else, including Amabelle’s story? Wtf? But Amabelle has the quill??? How?? So confused! What’s going on?
Tumblr media
So the murderer was, in fact, Jacob/Iago, which was one of my many theories. I failed to save Desdemona in my Cold Heart slot. I wonder if unlocking Edmund’s sin saves her? (I unlocked it on my Curse/Sin slot. Didn’t play that one yet.) Jacob/Iago being the killer is a lot more boring than Edward secretly being the phantom (which he isn’t).
I really hope there’s more to Edward than him just being an aristocrat who owns the hospital. A secret past was alluded to before, but it seems that he just remembers Amabelle from when she was tortured there. He also knew Romeo (who was also held at the hospital) and had him executed. Um… is Edward gonna be another secret villain? As for Romeo, why do I feel like it was Hobello, who like Amabelle, was saved during his execution by M, turned into a crow/frog (maybe that’s his curse), and doesn’t remember anything?
It’s either that. Or, Edward is talking about himself and he put that part of his life (magic) to death by becoming a devout Puritan. If that’s the case, then a Romeo & Juliet story makes sense. There’s Joan… She’s in love with Edward and acts all weird when Romeo’s name comes up. So are Edward and Romeo the same person? Edward’s head is pretty big on that Season 2 poster.

Oh, that phantom lady. 😂😂 The dead lady covered in flour with the fish eyes and roller coaster arms. I played that scene at night and still laughed my butt off. But how bout those creepy girl voodoo dolls?
Ralph is alive. He believes it was all a dream but still doesn’t trust Amabelle. So he doesn’t believe it was all a dream. He’s been able to sense Amabelle’s darkness the whole time. Sure, ok. That makes sense. He’s finally listening to his gut instead of… Amabelle’s beautiful eyes.
Hobello is conveniently able to stay in human form longer now. As cute as his human sprite is, I like him way better as a frog. I know some people really like the idea of romancing Hobello, but I want my frog Hobello back… 😭

The story from season 1 has barely ended. Now we’re being shipped to Scotland?? There’s a second artifact there, and it’s parchment. Like, how much parchment? Is it a never ending roll of paper? A bound book? A single sheet? I wonder what Scotland has to do with Shakespeare? Sounds like we’re heading into a MacBeth storyline.
Are we still gonna see William Shakespeare? It’d be weird if he conveniently showed up on that ship. But if the second artifact is parchment and Shakespeare’s stories are coming to life… and he no longer has the quill… wouldn’t Shakespeare need to be there writing his plays on the parchment?

The Thunderstorms Saga: Proving my theory right?
(Warning: spoilers)
A while back, I did a post suspecting Vellora of being more guilty than she lets on.
This update, we met this human Lord Gudjan. He runs the village near the border between Ro’od and Esshai. He gifts Tiss with some beautiful jewelry to earn her favor as the first Esshai dragon rider.
Tumblr media
Gudjan and Vellora know each other as they are both involved in negotiations between Esshai and Ro’od.
Well, previously, I suspected Vellora was involved in the smuggling of Esshai goods into the Empire. Tiss has come across valuable merchandise that should only be available in Esshai. When she brought it up to Vellora and the spy Aldir, their reactions were… not exactly shocked.
My theory was that there’s an underground network and possibly market, where merchants and spies trade Esshai goods for valuable information about Ro’od. Merchants from Ro’od get rich off their rare Esshai products, while the Esshai spies get access to inside knowledge from all around the Ro’od Empire.
Also seeing what a dickwad Emperor Foelh is, there are bound to be some miserable Ro’odian subjects wanting to cross over to Esshai.
When Narialm eats a cow at a village, Tiss makes note of how afraid the people are of them. When she offers to pay for the cow, the village elder is surprised by her offer. This means there are Ro’odian lords who abuse their power and just don’t give a damn about their citizens. We’ve already met Lord Nantal, so this is not a total shock. So again, there’s probably a good number of Ro’odians who’ve had it with Ro’od and its horny emperor and pompous lords.
I’d been thinking there must be an area where the border blurs. The different people mingle, exchange what they need, get the best of both worlds, and go on their way. A hub.
Now we meet this Lord Gudjan, a rich Imperial merchant. This is exactly his territory. Vellora probably sought out Lord Gudjan after Tiss told her about the smuggling in previous episodes. Now he’s making friends with Tiss, offering her pretty gifts. A bit of you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours, no?
I think when we escort Vellora back to Ro’od on our dragon, Tiss will start to see more signs of these shifty underground movements. And I think Griaran is possibly part of this underground movement. I wouldn’t be surprised if they encounter her. Aldir was unconcerned about her seeing his meeting with Tiss in that tavern. She’s already defied the Emperor before. She eschews the noble life, travels often, frequents bars, knows how to treat wounds, has many connections in high and low places, and is extremely nosey. Perfect for a secret network to… what? Bring down a corrupt Emperor? I don’t think their goal is peace.
Ainloth is the one who suggested Vellora and Tiss fly together. I think he is aware of Vellora’s shady connections, but she might not know that he knows. Maybe it’s his way of saying Vellora needs to get her stuff together. Do your shady business, but don’t be stupid enough to get caught. Now here’s your giant, dangerous babysitter. Remember why we’re here.
Let’s bring Tai into this. He wants peace. Really wants peace. He might genuinely care about the people of Ro’od. He might actually believe in a tolerant Zootopian world where everyone has a chance to peace and prosperity. He had his political marriage plan, then his whole dragon rider plan. But now his dad’s decided he wants Tiss for himself and to knock Tai down many pegs. Maybe even disinherit him from the throne. So what does that mean? Tai will eventually turn against his dad and join this effort to get rid of his dear papa. Keep making enemies, Foelh.
Anyway, Vellora and Lord Gudjan are key figures in this secret underground movement. My question is… is there a connection between them and the palace curse? Is the shadowy figure a palace mage working for this movement? 🤔
(Quick tangent: I’m not romancing Griaran, so I’m totally shipping her and Princess Laimir. If Griaran is a secret agent, it’d be a great way to bring Laimir into more of the story. Wouldn’t you like to see spoiled prissy open her eyes to the real world and actually do something with her long life? I would. 🙋‍♀️)

My little SOCN theory
(Warning: spoilers!)
I think Saamon is Eva’s uncle — her father’s older brother who never returned from a commission. He was doing Set’s commission, but then went AWOL to serve that someone else.
(Also, what’s wrong with these people giving their babies cursed names? What happened to names like Rosemary or Philip? 😆)
I keep thinking that Eva’s dad looks so much like Livius. Maybe it’s just a coincidence. It would be weird if Livius turned out to be Eva’s cousin. (Then again, there’s Mehmed and Hasan..🫤).
Anyway, we’re led to believe Livius’s birth parents were the pharaoh and a concubine. But what if that title “son of both lands” refers to not just lower and upper Egypt? I think it has to be a reference to his ties to both Egypt and Macedonia.
Agnia mentioned Saamon is serving a patron from outside of Egypt, one more powerful than Set. I think it could possibly be Alexander the Great (who was from Pella). Agnia’s brother is fighting under his campaign, and there’ve been clues about the Macedonians taking over Egypt.
We know from history that Alexander the Great did take over and established Alexandria as a major hub. He even got himself recognized as the son of Amun to assume the pharaoh title. If the Egyptian gods’ power is determined by the amount of followers they have… Alexander the Great would be more powerful than Set. By then he’d conquered all of Greece, the Balkins, and part of Persia. The Egyptians also saw him as a liberator from the Persians.
This whole thing feels like it’s leading up to a war between Ancient Egypt and Alexander the Great. It matches with the new Loyalty and Chaos stats. This is starting to sound like the end of Kali: Call of Darkness. Are we loyal to Egypt and its dark god of chaos? Or are we traitors to our country’s traditions and side with a foreign power?
With the new Loyalty and Chaos stats in mind, which would work best for our different LIs? Obviously, Set and Ramesses would be Loyalty. Agnia and Amen would probably be Chaos. But where would the Son of Both Lands lie?

People are complaining about Code Blue while I’m just struggling to decide which routes I’m taking for my 3 slots. I mean come on, hot poly couple? FLINT? Age gap doctor? Childhood friends? FLIIIINT? Sweet barista? It’s a feast of great tropes

Me everytime I see someone criticising psi, w time catcher or the thunderstorm saga (the number of "psi is boring" confessions on Tumblr is DIABOLICAL. I know that not everyone is a sci fi, dystopian type person...BUT IT STILL HURTS)

They give an expensive thing to a woman who has spent the night in the chambers for the first time. It is a tradition of the Empire. All men do it, except for the mountain elves - their women do it for their men.
