if you, from the privilege of your stable home, decide to scroll past the posts i re-blog regarding Palestine, please unfollow me. and I genuinely mean that.
Gaza is under being attack. people are tweeting what they think is their last moments alive right now. children are afraid, toddlers, families, newborns, everybody. if you can ignore this situation, you’re HEARTLESS.
there’s no two sides to this, Israel is using white phosphorous against civilians in Gaza, which is BANNED - it is a war crime. families are telling their children that the Israeli bombs are firework shows because of Eid.
internet and electricity has been cut in Gaza. “Israel vows not to stop Gaza attacks until there is ‘complete quiet’” - this is a real genocide happening in real time.
the IDF are live tweeting the genocide. while people sleep in the comfort of their homes, ignoring the death of hundreds, real genocide is happening. parents have to see the death of their families and loved ones in real time, children have to grieve their deceased parents. people are preparing for death while the world does nothing.
if you call yourself “neutral” in this situation, or if you stand with Israel, unfollow me, i will not care. you disgust me, truly. this is inhumane these people are not humans, pointing guns at children, i can’t believe it. there’s only so much we can do, please continue to spread this information. people are dying right now. Palestinians have said themselves social media helps them !!! please please pray for Palestine, regardless of your beliefs, please pray for Palestine, please continue to spread.
innocent people with dreams and aspirations are being killed. and you think you can stay silent ? you’re the scum of the earth, i don’t want anything to do with you. even if you call yourself “neutral”. real people with real families. no child should fear their life - no person should. disgusting. nobody cares about your fucking fanfiction or movie gifs rn, seriously. not when you’re posting it from the comfort of your bed.

it’s not just a few bad apples anymore and we need to acknowledge it
this is a really angry rant so y’all can skip if u want (also it’s mostly about aot but i guess the conclusion goes for all fandoms):
i hate this fandom. i want to be able to ship something or appreciate something without people trying to convince me not to like it because “it’s not canon” and “it’s unconfirmed”. i wanna be able to express my love for my favourite characters without getting “oh yes i love corpse 1 and corpse 2” and “bruh ____ wasn’t even important to the story” or “they were only there for two episodes :/“ and “lmaoo who cares abt them”.
i hate the misinformation and hate spread throughout the fandom, i hate that the meaning of shipping is lost on these people. i feel bad for them because they won’t let themselves enjoy unpopular minor characters simply because they weren’t in the show for that long. and i feel angry when they want me to only like five of the main characters because apparently they’re the only ones that exist and the only important ones in the show.
i like minor characters. i don’t give a fuck if they weren’t there for that long. i do NOT care if my ship wasn’t confirmed by the author himself in a letter to your fucking mother.
i hate that this fandom spreads misinformation when they want to hate a ship and need a valid reason. i hate when this fandom harasses and threatens people because their ship wasn’t confirmed by the author.
it doesn’t HAVE TO BE CANON for people to ship something. that is not the fucking point of shipping. if we like the idea of them in a relationship then we can fucking ship it. get over it.
and people might think it’s only a few toxic people who do this, so i shouldn’t be so angry about it. that’s not true. the majority of the attack on titan fandom is filled with toxic assholes who hate opposing views and opinions. who will threaten you and bully you and harass you over those opinions. it’s the MAJORITY. they insult you, harass you, suicide bait you, report you, twist your words, etc. they claim that you’re forcing your ship on them when they were the ones who asked for your reasons. this isn’t as bad when there isn’t that much, but when it builds up over seven years to the point where everyone believes the same terrible rumors about your character and ship, where no one wants you to ship it, where too many people are willing to harass and insult you over ships and characters, it become difficult to ignore. and it doesn’t just pile up, it becomes bigger and bigger, more people join the fandom and do the same.
i try to ignore it when it’s a small thing, but it’s become a daily occurrence. that’s why i’m so angry, i’m sick of it. it shouldn’t be normal, why is this behaviour so common? why are you harassing people over characters and ships that you don’t agree with? why should i continue ignoring it and why shouldn’t the rest of the fandom change their behaviour instead.
conclusion/main point summed up:
what people should get from this rant? i want people to understand the meaning of shipping, and that it doesn’t have to be canon for people to appreciate the potential. i want people to understand that people can ship what isn’t canon even if one of the characters are canonically in love with another. we are not erasing an already established relationship, we’re appreciating another.
i want people to understand that people like minor characters because they seem more interesting and play bigger roles. most of the aot minor characters for example have made a much bigger impact than a lot of the main characters. they were ten times more interesting and had so much potential. we get to take more creative liberties when writing about them or drawing them. we get so excited when information gets released about them because they’re not as popular as historia or armin.
we don’t have to like the three characters with the most screen time like everyone else 😐 it’s weird that you don’t consider the minor characters to be actual characters and it’s weird that we’re only allowed to have the most bland taste in characters. i’ll put it a different way, we shouldn’t have to like the popular opinion just because it’s a popular opinion. we can agree with unpopular opinions as well as some of the popular opinions. and no i’m not saying you’re “basic” for liking the main characters or that the main characters are bland, but they’re everyone else’s favourite and that’s the main reason why people want me to like them more than the minor characters. because there are sets of characters that are in everyone’s favourites list, it seems pretty rude that when there’s a character that isn’t your favourite that i like, you wanna try and debate with me and tell me why i shouldn’t like it and why i should agree with the majority. THAT is what i mean by bland. it’s everyone. it doesn’t have to be everyone.
the main characters are amazing but they’re not gonna be everyone’s favourites, that’s not a bad thing. especially in an anime like aot, when there’s so many different characters to love and appreciate.
there is no reason to limit what we like to your standards just because “it’s not canon” or “it’s not confirmed” or “they weren’t even there that long” or because you personally don’t like it.
