Now that almost a month has passed, I don't like it that much... But I was happy with it (and will be improving).

I'm often thinking that whenever I have a F/M couple in my headcanons, this is always some typically young adult novel thing: both young and having sorta real strong friendship dynamics (but then, I'm generally a very SFW person, not a fan of smut, detailed erotic scenes, etc). One of my personal favorite tropes which is present nearly in all of my headcanons.

And I love this equally with my sapphic girls (who are also usually mild).

Now I'm often thinking about Edern and Arianna, my Elden Ring OCs. Actually they occupy most of my mind, not Lyra, not the twins or someone, mostly these two. And Loretta. And anyone else who's connected with them). They have exactly this dynamics! Friendship and devotion (gosh I really need to make more posts about them, I want, but always forgetting, getting distracted or falling asleep, Edern is a bastard son of a Night's Cavalry knight, that guy, yeah)

Oooh, for the WIP game, I’m interested in Sermon.

Oh thank you, Archer!

This was supposed to be a Neverwinter Nights 2 fanfic (like others, actually), and I wanted it to be real good, putting much thought and effort into it.

It's Neeshka's backstory, 'Particularly Moving Sermon'. Neeshka is a tiefling rogue from NWN2 and my former big crush, my comfort character in 2019-2022. I was really obsessed with her, shipping her with my own girl and creating an elaborated backstory as well as postcanon.

In-game, we know than Neeshka was abandoned by her parents, when just a baby, and raised by the priests of Helm, who did lots of preaching and tried to convert her. Eventually she fled after one 'particularly moing sermon', hence the title. This work was supposed to follow the events that led to this.

She was raised in a small orphanage run by the priestess Mariella Athren (idk why the name is so dunmerish, I hadn't played TES yet when I was making this up), a strict lady, but just and kind in her own way. Neeshka had a close friend, a boy called Ander, they were the outcasts and troulemakers, running away for adventures from time to time. They were different, but fit each other like details of the puzzle and taught each other things they lacked.

Eventually Ander decided to go for priesthood, actually tired of being shunned away & also impressed by the many stories of the old librarian, a former adventurer, who they were also friends with. He thought he could be an adventuring priest when he grew up, and they would still be close with Neeshka, go travel togenther, become mercenaries ... But she couldn't understand it all and threw a scene before he could explain much. This felt like a betrayal for Neeshka. Then Mariella happened to be near and gave that exact 'particularly moving sermon' about how Ander was doing the right thing & being the good boy, and Neeshka should have followed his example, and bla bla bla...

In the end, Neeshka felt heartbroken, betrayed and fled the orphanage to go her own way. That's it.

One other detail. Originally she took everything off their donation plate when leaving. So Ander was responsible for the donations that day, he was trusted with such a big responsibility, and it was not only her wanting to get some money for the new free life, but also a way of revenge on him.

She and Ander meet again in postcanon. They will make up, he will even set up a small Helm church in the Crossroad Keep, the place headed by NWN 2's main character in the end (and as a Keep's lady then, Neeshka will help with this), but later Ander will leave the priesthood realizing that's not actually what he's always wanted. However he will also realize that his childhood love is forever lost (happily married with Ser Elrin Farlong).

IDK if I ever get back to this. When I'm not so brandead as now, I'd try translating my existing NWN works to English, just for practice. And if I write something new, I'd probably go for Elden Ring and Lyra's story instead... Though I have some good layouts for NWN stories in my drafts (mainly hardcover notebook filled with all my OC and headcanon lore).
