But omg so much changes in a few years... and ESPECIALLY when you switch from windows to mac T_T. Are there ANY lighting / prettifying mods that are mac-compatible? I miss Reshade T_T Are there other ts4 players on mac out there? Are there any mac versions of any of the windows-specific mods/apps out there? I think I can't use the bulk renamer app for files either iirc..

This was going to be part of the last post but I didn't want it to get lost. If anyone could tell me anything the historical sims hivemind knows about using any of the packs that have come out since I've been gone for historical play/ that good mods utilize, etc, I would LOVE to know!! I do own some of the packs, but since I lost my HD with all my historical sims cc. I haven't actually played historically in years, but I want to get back into it! These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head that have come out since I've played: - Life & Death, For Rent (just bought today, haven't played yet!), Lovestruck, Horse Ranch (have this!), Growing together & high school years (i have them both). Actually I can't remember if Cottage Living came out after that too... I definitely play it a lot but I don't know if i ever got to play it historically??? - parenthood & werewolves (have them both - recently got werewolves, haven't actually noticed it in my game though, lol) I think I have a list on here of all the mods/most of the cc I used, do any of you have such a list too? I want to see how folks are playing these days!

Why hello there

I don't think anyone remembers me, but that's okay! Life has done a 180* turn for me in every possible way in the last few years and I didn't have time for Sims, other than watching a few things when new expansions drop.

But things are finally settling down enough that I have some free time and I've been starting to play again. (I'm now living on my own in a coastal city in South Korea, where I teach English at a great school (and get a free, lovely apartment!), and have a group of great other teacher friends that I get to explore with on days off. All of this thanks to, in part, my POTS going into remission and allowing me to re-join the world, which I can't overstate how grateful I am for that!* Anyway, what's up? What's new? How on earth will I be able to catch up with all the good mods and CC i've missed! Ahhhh! Also, I desperately want to update my stuff... but I have a mac now and my photoshop that I had from college (when you could actually PURCHASE software instead of subscribe to it) doesn't work on mac. T_T. And somehow, I utterly forget how to use blender. One of those "use it or lose it skills", I guess. :( *(As an aside: have any health issues? Get your ferritin checked, ignore the lab's reference ranges, which are all criminally wrong, and make sure your levels are above 50!!! Though, over 100 seems to be the ideal! I was only mildly anemic according to hemoglobin levels, my iron levels themselves were fine, but my ferritin (long term iron stores) had been 9 throughout my tenure with POTS, and finally hit 3, where even the low reference ranges caught me. Still had to get a second opinion after my GP just offered me iron pills (nearly useless for significant deficiency). After 7 (!) iron infusions from a hematologist, I was literally an ENTIRELY NEW WOMAN. I am now a teacher on my feet all day without even getting tired, when before my heart rate would spike to 135 just walking to the bathroom, causing me to get out of breath.)

Anyone want to donate some victorian sim pictures?

Hiiii. I’ve not been on tumblr for a lil while, I’ve just been trying to heal from surgery and occasionally poke at some of my older WIPs if my brain is feeling up to it (surgery made my body forget how to sleep!! :( ). One of those WIPs are some old historical framed photos to put in victorian-era (and beyond) homes. At this point I have 30 or so swatches, but Victorians had so many of these dang things in their houses and we have so few in game, more is definitely better!

 & As there are few things on this earth that I hate more than posing sims for whatever reason, I’m NOW ACCEPTING DONATIONS of victorian/edwardian photos of sims to be included!  Credit given, of course!!! + BIPOC sim photos especially needed! In fact I only have two non-white/black photos so far and so I super especially need some photos of sims from other ethnicities. They can be in the style of any country, so long as it looks to be from around 1860-1915ish.

They just need to be dressed and posed appropriately for the era (no smiles, exposure lengths were long) (+Pinterest is a treasure trove for victorian studio photos if you want examples, and the top of this board has some pose packs). I can turn them b&w and do any cropping needed, so you don’t need to do any editing of the screenshots if you don’t want to! 

Other than studio-type portraits (any plain background will do!), family pictures were common too, and often taken out in front of their houses/farms, or just out in their yards. Here’s one of my great-grandpa as a bb in ~1896 as an example:

I want a lot more diversity in the selection than what I have so far (with photos taken from a couple sources + me) and I’m not going to release these until I get that, so I just figured I’d at least put out a call to see if anyone already has some they’d like to contribute, or they’d like to take (if posing sims doesn’t make them want to die like it does for me :p)! That way they can come out sooner! (And so can some Little Sims on the Prairie builds! (Speaking of-- if someone wants to actually *donate* any (dressed-for-every-category in late 1800s clothes (some early 1900s outfits are fine)) non-white families to the Willow Creek Frontier collab save, PLEASE let me know! Only a few white families have been donated so far.) TIA if anyone wants to help out! <3

PS: a couple days ago i went to grab a link to @the-dew-of-the-sea for someone on discord while I was actively working on this, and what was the top post? Their own Old Family Pictures set! haha. So YAY for a double dose of new photos to put up. Lord knows anyone decorating a victorian home needs enough of these things to plaster every wall they have, afterall!

Fir A Good Night's Sleep | Toddler, Single & Double Beds

Just a few simple mm beds for your nature-residing sims! It was only after I made these that I realized mammut had already done the same thing for toddlers & kids (even frankenmeshing the same base, lol), but I STG it's a coincidence (or at least subconscious! I may have seen them before but thought they were a bit too alpha for me in parts? idk!). But maybe these will be useful to some folks who play mm!

If you play prehistoric/fantasy/naturey and somehow haven’t already, definitely go check out their ts4 Stone Age tag! :) They've got more prehistoric stuff than anyone else by far! I don't want to be accused of doing a recolor without credit so I'm trying to give plenty of credit despite it not being a recolor, lol. Honestly I would have rather recolored theirs because faster + I like their blankets more than mine and if I just would have MM-ified it I would have liked the result better than this one tbh, lol. 😅

Idk how you storytellers do it. I am trying to take preview pics for some cc and I’m so miserable because I have to use poses. It’s so tedious and I do not liiiike. :((  Where’s some good poses to use for previews for kids clothes? Oddly I can find more poses of kids sitting and such than just standing and looking natural-ish but with a good view of their clothes.

I like my reshade overall, but does anyone have any tips to stop all my brown skintones from being so red? Without making everything look so blue?  (I’ve tried changing the skin colors themselves but most skin tones do this with this reshade)

Are you ever going to release a save game with all these amazing sims from other times?

Aw, ty!! :) Do you mean the prehistoric ones, or the Willow Creek Frontier ones? Some of my WCF ones will be released with the Little Sims on the Prairie project Save file that has been delayed because of how long it takes to compile the cc lists from some of the donated builds/sims, but it will be released! I need to start budgeting some more time in my weeks to work on that. Ty for the reminder, motivation! ^_^

Ahh, THANK YOU!! :3 :3 And yes omg my WIP folder is PACKED. I have sooo many things *almost* ready to be released, but just need a few final fixes/touches etc & packaging up, and that’s the longest part of the process.  I have a particular set which I reeeeally hope to release in the next couple days that I found in my WIP folder last week. “Oh that’s basically done! i should hurry and finish that up and release it tomorrow!” I said, naively.  So naturally I’ve been working on it almost every waking moment for a solid week, no exaggeration, and it’s still not done. ;__;. But! Almost! I hope! Pray to the cc gods for me, pls. I am so sick of looking at this set 😅 . And I have so more I want to release ASAP!
