Ahhhhh Malleus shared a cake/pie with others in the coral sea event 😭😭💞💞💞 I’m so happy he’s able to make fond memories with cake now. It might not become his favorite food, but now it will at least cover up some of the pain from those days he ate it alone 😭😭💚💚

Time escapes from him even now though he cherishes every moment.

In that time, he had lost everyone. Silver had been first, then Lilia, you not long after, and even Sebek after some time.

Each one is a star losing its glow, but never were his nights filled with darkness.

He had lost them but his days were not lonely.

He had friends who still lived; some old and grey while others, metal and long living just as he and a cat whose appetite hadn’t changed even now.

He had generations of descendants keeping him company.

Some with eyes of the changing skies, others who bore scales and might, some with tails of lions, others who came from a land of sand, some with traits of bats, and many more.

Each a glimmer of the past but a story of someone new.

Here, he catches a glimpse of you again.

A newborn with your traits.

It felt nostalgic.

Malleus looks around.

Familiar faces surrounded him as they waited for his blessing.

He was never alone, even now.

He couldn’t wait to meet everyone again and tell his tale of the last few centuries.

He couldn’t wait to see and hear dearly missed smiles and voices.

For now, he’ll continue to make memories to share in the future with everyone.

I was thinking about Malleus’ long life and how he’d be the companion of generations of friends and families and thought of this piece that’s been on my mind.

Tried to make it hopeful and a little aching but ough Malleus, it’s not easy losing loved ones constantly 😭💔

So the boys are admiring their outfits. They praise Georgina for it, because you wouldn't have known that it's the first time they've met with how perfect the clothes Georgina chose for them are.

But apparently, she already got some tips on their personalities based on Floyd's nicknames lol.

Yuu is a shrimp so Georgina chose pink for them. Grim's a baby seal because of his round tummy, but she put him in an eel-inspired fit this time. Rook's a seagull graceful in the sky but hits hard in a fight.

Malleus: "What sort of name did that person have for me?"

Jade reveals that Malleus is a seaslug. Grim doesn't know what that is and is upset that even Rook knows what a seaslug is. He questions Yuu if they know

Yuu: "It's a creature just like Hornton!"

Malleus: "What? I look like this?"

Jade: "Those horn-like parts are actually antennae. Sea slugs are a type of shellfish."

Malleus: "Shell...? I fail to see where the shell in this creature is, but this outfit does incorporate plenty of shells."

Grim: "Eh~ this squishy, fluttery, weird thing is a sea slug, huh. It looks so carefree, not really like Hornton except for the horns."

No Grim you don't understand. He's actually as easygoing and derpy as that seaslug lmao.

Jade: "Seaslugs are adorable, beautiful creatures that flutter in the ocean."

Jade: "... However, don't be too captivated and touch it. That will be the end for you. They're extremely poisonous."

Grim: "They're poisonous?! Scary little dudes... So they're like Hornton after all."

Jade: "But they're known to be rather docile unless provoked."

Malleus: "So it's fine if you simply do not carelessly touch it. Then, it's not frightening at all."

Malleus: "I've learned quite a bit more about this sea slug creature. These nicknames that people bestow upon others is amusing."

I DID NOT know that that much thought was put into the seaslug nickname wtf? It really is Malleus omg.

People who insist that Malleus isn't Lilia's son are so cruel wtf. Like even the devil wouldn't be that heartless. 💀 Aside from the absolute canonically explicit fact that dragon eggs only hatch through the unconditional love of a parent, Malleus internalizes that Lilia was practically the only good thing in his life while growing up. Almost everything he did was in anticipation that Lilia would be proud of him the next time they met.

The poor thing hated his life. Aside from his grandmother who rarely spent time with him, nobody in that godforsaken country ever really cared for him as more than a breathing crown. All he knew, and everything he held on to, was that Lilia fed him, played with him, dressed him, taught him all sorts of things, told him stories of the outside world, and always welcomed him in his humble little home.

Lilia loved him more than anyone ever loved him. To take even that truth away from him is beyond cruel.

Likewise, Lilia absolutely thinks of him as his son, and words need not be uttered out loud. Action speaks louder than words. Otherwise he wouldn't have thought that Malleus' hatching (and finding Silver!) was his happiest moment in life. He would never have spent his life never losing hope that Malleus could be born. He would never have spent the remainder of his life risking it repeatedly, just for the short moments that he could spend with the boy.

Just because they don't carry the same blood, or that they don't share a surname, doesn't mean their bond is inferior to those who do.
