I quite like this take. Cale is usually the completely oblivious one, so Alver taking that role is adorable. I can see why other people like other ships, no hate, but this one always feels the most right to me.

Alver didn’t use sworn-brotherhood because of brotherly love, but rather, he was inspired by the first fairytale that offered him the concept of a mutually exclusive relationship. Imagine if Alver read yaoi instead. Then he would have married Cale since he’s the only one who checks all the boxes for his ideal spouse.

Anyways, to some shippers, this may have been a fatal blow.

‘So this is it, hyung and dongsaeng huh…’

But you forget that there was someone even more devastated.

In fact, he may even be the most devastated of them all.

I feel sorry for him, his mental breakdown during the awarding ceremony… it was an occasion where sticking next to each other to further emphasize the newfound label in the eyes of the public was expected, but he didn’t even look at Alver with the usual flowery gaze. When he sees Alver being friendly with someone else—he questions the relationship, glares at anyone who tries to come his way, dominating aura on full force, and goes to a corner to stuff himself with sweets… in the end, he left without saying a word and threw himself back into work.

Of course he’s embarrassed!! That inconsiderate stupid crown prince…

At first Cale, who before wouldn’t even call others Hyung or Noona, rebelled by making the honorific meaningless. Alright. Even the monsters from Earth 2 are hyung and noona, so now what? Do you want to be special? Then give me a different one. But the cute Dark Tiger didn’t know anything and could only listen with his full sincerity...

Do the TCF characters have body hair?

It's a weird question, right? I don't read a whole lot of fanfic, so idk how most people headcannon it. But I'm a 100% alcale shipper (no hate to other ships, I just like their dynamic) and a maladaptive daydreamer, so that means I'm in my head a lot thinking about how there relationship could play out.

A thought that literally just occurred to me is that we never get any kind of description of if Cale or Alver (or any other guy, for that matter) have to shave at all. I know body and facial hair in Koreans is less common, but the characters are distinctly stated to be western styled save world hoppers like Choi Han. On top of that, both Deruth and Zed are stated (and shown in the comic) to have facial hair. And it's made me wonder.

Cale is early 20s, physically, but when he gets older, will he grow a beard like Deruth? Does Alver have to shave off a little goatee every few mornings, or does the typical fantasy hairlessness of elves/dark elves apply in this setting and to him specifically?

A lot of bl/rofan/af comics draw the men very much hairless unless they specifically fall into the "big hairy brute" trope, and I see a lot of that reflected in fan works as well. I can't think of many fan art I've seen that give any of the characters any body hair at all, ESPECIALLY not king bottom Cale.

Anyway, I headcannon that older Cale will be very annoyed about the fact he has to shave every few days or gorw an annoying little goatee. The kids keep asking him to grow it out just because they are curious about what he'd look like. I also think he'd be the kind of guy to not have a lot of chest/back hair, with 90% of his body hair being forearms and calves and that stripe of hair that runs from under the belly button down to the pubes. And even then, it's not very thick, just the kind of thing you only notice if you get fairly close/touch it and realize it's there.

Alver on the other hand, I think would inherit the inability to grow a beard from the elf side but have a lot more body hair over all. I mean just look at Zed and tell me he dosnt look like a hairy motherfucker? I don't think he'd be BEAR hairy, but he would definitely have chest hair and more hair on upper arms and thighs than Cale would. The only thing is that you can't see it while he's disguised. So in pretty princey form, he looks like the kind of dude to not have any body hair at all, but when he's in his true form, you can see he's actually got a good amount of body hair in places.

Anyhow, that was my brain worm for the month. What do you guys think? What would other characters have? I think Rosalyn would have hairy forearms, but nothing else.

Also, I am aware that a lot of people hate body hair and don't like to have it/see it. But it's normal for people to have body hair. Thinking of characters in more realistic terms makes them feel more interesting for me, so if it's not an idea you enjoy then please just skip instead of commenting something that could make someone else feel bad about something they have no control over. Thanks.

Rok Soo's ability isn't Instant AU

Instead of being able to, very briefly and painfully, fuck with time; he got an ability based on all the absolute bullshit that's happened to him.

From the childhood, to his friends dying in front of him. All the shitty rumors that sprouted up, all the shit luck, all of it. Just, all of it.

So instead of Instant, he got Lament.

Lament is a scream capable of leveling buildings, at the cost of absolutely shredding Rok Soo's throat.

As a result of that power, Rok Soo doesn't talk often, and when he does his voice is hoarse and pained. He also refuses to speak at full volume, because while he's got a handle on his power, he's paranoid that he'll slip up.

So when he transfers over to the body of Cale, people notice.

The Young Master went to bed his usual talkative self, but when he woke up?

Barely a word, and when he did speak, a whisper.

Cale barely speaks a word to Ron beyond the single syllable required. Barely bothers to acknowledge Deruth. Relies on hand-speak and notes to talk to merchants.

Deruth is going crazy trying to figure out what the hell happened to his son, Ron is very close behind him because what the hell got past him? He's Ron Fucking Molan.

Then Cale comes home with a bedraggled punk that smells like the trash the killed Ron's family, and Ron has to listen in astonishment as he says more to this jackass than he's said to Ron in a week.

Basically; Cale's power of Lament is so strong and painful that everything Cale is paranoid of letting it slip, that he's selectively mute. This causes many misunderstandings, in true Cale fashion.

Part 2 Chapter 413

Dragon krs idea- this is before the start of the novel and before Choi Han reaches Harris Village.

He's warm. What had once been the neutral temperature of his house as he drifted to sleep, after reading the novel The Birth of a Hero, became a warm, wet blanket. It wrapped around him slickly. It feels uncomfortable.

That isn't good. Not knowing something isn't good. The wet was suffocating and he stretched out his hand to find the end of the blanket.

Kim Rok Soo shakes abruptly. He frowns, but finds that his face feels strange. His limbs are cramped in a tight space, but the walls begin to give way under his squirming. He shrugs his shoulders, butting his head forward, kicking with his legs.

The wall which is also wet and slippery cracks under his arms and he pushes up with his feet.

His nose breaks into the cold air. Kim Rok Soo breathes, opening his eyes to a dark expanse above him, the stars looming above him. Except the stars aren't the same as he remembers. And he feels strange, in a foreign body.

He looks down to see what are clawed, red paws, and the remains of a wine-red shell. Whatever he had been thinking was happening... it wasn't this. Was it because of his nature, or the environment he grew up in? He didn't bother to think any further about his body when he still didn't know what was around him.

He was in a forest, regular as any that he'd seen before in Korea. Minus the wavering motions of something in the air. It was an odd, instinctive feeling, rather than something he could see.

It told him that something was approaching.

Without any time to think further Kim Rok Soo scampered over the broken remains of his egg and stumbled with chubby little paws over to a bush. Unfortunately for him, he appeared to only be the size of a small dog, or a medium sized cat. His senses expanded naturally to feel across the forest floor and towards what was approaching.

A bear-like creature-- with purple fur, 4 extra limbs, and long horns trailing down its back and a long tail-- emerged from the growth and quickly went to sniffing his egg shell. Then, Kim Rok Soo's heart dropped, it looked directly at his position in the bush. Well, that isn't good.

Kim Rok Soo jumped out of the bush right as the bear leaped forward powerfully. Moving quickly he loops around a tree right as the bear slams into it and hides in the monsters blind spot, instinctively using the strange movement he sensed in the air before to turn the attention of the bear away from him.

It must only work to confuse the bear because while it doesn't follow the motion, it struggles to catch a whiff of Kim Rok Soo again. He skillfully uses his paws to silently move behind and away from the bears line of sight. It must not have very good hearing, and it ambles around, disoriented. In a moment of instinct alone, he uses something to prevent the grass from making any noise, too.

Kim Rok Soo is panicking about how to escape the bear when a black line suddenly appears in his line of sight, and it pierces the bears skull out of nowhere.

The beast slowly falls over, dead.

The black line moved so fast that not even Kim Rok Soo saw it. His red paws tremble. He looks at the felled bear, revealing a small tree branch embedded in its head, bleeding steadily from the fatal injury.

...

Kim Rok Soo stiffly looks around him. Is he going to end up being a snack for whatever killed that bear? The bear has enough meat doesn't it? Can't it leave him alone? He was just born.

Unexpectedly it isn't a monster but a boy, a teenager, that emerges from the trees and stares at Kim Rok Soo. He's wearing makeshift clothes and holding a rusty knife. Kim Rok Soo shudders. Can he escape from this guy? Then the teenager notices the egg shell on the ground and looks back at Kim Rok Soo.

"You..." he speaks in Korean. "You're just a baby." The Korean teenager lowers his eyes. "I can't kill a baby."

Insulted, Kim Rok Soo opens his mouth to argue. He's 36 years old. He isn't even close to being a baby!

The teenager looks at the wine red dragon blankly. The brief emotion in his eyes falls away like an illusion, and he anxiously taps his knife with a restless finger.

...

Kim Rok Soo sees the dead bear out of the corner of his eye.

Actually, being a baby isn't so bad. This guy looks strong, let's piggy back off of his strength and get a free ride out of this forest.

With his mind set, Kim Rok Soo sits his bum on the ground and curls his tail around his waist to sit on his paws, not the floor. It's comfortable. Should he try to be cute or something?

He yawns, tired from running around immediately after waking up from the egg. This is annoying. If the teenager doesn't take him in, won't he have to survive out here on his own? He doesn't know if the monsters here are edible.

Unbeknownst to him, Kim Rok Soo just displayed behaviors identical to those of a cat.

His eyes closed from yawning, Kim Rok Soo opens them to find the teenager crouching directly in front of him.

Way too scary!

"You aren't trying to attack me. You... is it because you're a baby?"

Kim Rok Soo tilts his head. Does this guy expect a baby to respond to him?

Choi Han swallows. In this place... maybe he can have a friend? It has wings, maybe he could teach it to lead him to people like him.

Choi Han stiffly opens his arms, keeping the knife positioned outward, and though his blank expression is unnerving Kim Rok Soo is tired and hungry, so he yawns again and steps closer. It couldn't be too dangerous, right? The teenager carefully wraps his arms around the small, wine red dragon, lifting it up and holding it as if it were a human baby.

Briefly, Kim Rok Soo wonders if the teenager can properly fight if he's holding something, but he decides to not worry about it. If a dangerous creature comes again like the bear, he's sure the teenager would throw him away or something.

Kim Rok Soo tucks his chin into the teenagers neck and shoulder, appreciating the warmth, and slips into a light sleep. Choi Han strokes the baby dragons back. The scales are slightly chilly. Faintly, Choi Han senses a deep strength within this creature.

Maybe it would be better to kill it young.

Kim Rok Soo sleeps, unaware of the rising killing intent.

Choi Han shifts the baby to one arm and taps his knife handle with the other. He should get it some food. It's a baby, so it'll be hungry. It should be fine without milk, right?

I'm not sure who said it first, but the theory that krs is the red dragon has been on my mind for days now

And it would make so much sense if that was the case

Like what's a better twist than finding out the man who ended the white stars bullshit is also the same being who was used to start it all?

And the fact that krs was able to be affected by white stars curse is so much worse now

Imagine sherrit finding out her child was hurt by the same thing she created to protect him 😭

This also places immense suspicion on the god of death, i mean it never made sense to me that the white star was just able to "pass his curse around" like a sickly virus just because he stole someones body. It sounds more plausible to me that the god of death never added the rule "this curse cannot affect anybody else" and then used it as a loophole to curse KRS.

The curse was a punishment for an oath only dragon slayers have made, what the hell could be more targeted and specific than that??? And now you're telling me this random guy from raon has to live with it in korea cuz the white star took his body before that soul got to inhabit it??

The only person who can break a curse is the one who made the curse and the person who wanted it to be made (in this case the GoD and Sherrit)

And in the sealed test choi jung gun says "the god of death is trying to hold the curse back from affecting you"

Excuse me??? He can't dispel his own curse?? I don't believe that at all. Also krs had nothing to do with the white star since he was born, so why is it impossible to remove him from the effects of it?? The god of death had about 36 years to figure out how to make it go away, and he just couldn't?? I smell bullshit

Sherrit also said that the red egg was affecting it's surroundings before it was born, the dragon inside would've been powerful to extents she probably couldn't even comprehend

It makes more sense to me if the GoD just wanted to get rid of any competition/ "wrench in his plans" and used the excuse of protecting sherrits children to create the perfect scenario to take out 2 birds with one stone

GoD does seem kinda stupid when we see him but it's always the mfs with that kind of act that are the most suspicious, also he literally became a god?? If he can do that, then he's more than capable of setting up some kind of intricate plan to get what he wants

Anywho, there's also other things I've noticed:

1) never accepting park jin tae as king until he proved himself, krs has never submitted to anyone without a valid reason for doing so. Which would seem kinda weird cuz he spent 90% of his upbringing being beaten into submission. I've only ever seen an attitude like that in dragons or just stronger creatures in general (coincidence? I think not)

2) this has been stated before but his affinity with dragons is crazy + he's constantly being mistaken for one 😭

3) the GoD called krs a mutant, we don't know why yet but being a human with the soul of a dragon is a pretty valid reason to call someone a mutant. (Especially if that mutant was able to activate a small % of its attribute)

4) i don't have anything to back this up with, but instant being his attribute instead of a power he got on earth would be pretty cool, just using it for a little bit is enough to injure him because it's meant to be used by a dragon as powerful as the Red one.
