I have a feeling Logan isn't good at shapeshifting because he overcomplicates it. Like the atoms and organs and he hates having his body be fantastical

logan: if hes in an "unrealistic" body [think: puppet logan] for any long amount of time, he will break down, as he starts asking questions. how is he sentient and aware? how is he breathing? after a while, he'll end up as a gory puddle of pure panicked breakdown and one of the twins will have to fix him. he'll usually end up Checking his own organs after this. just to make sure.

patton: though the inside is.. uh. Pretty Simple. he has one organ: the heart! it is exactly what a 5 year old would think a heart is. it Beats Too :D. also, any "sharp" parts of him (aka teeth and nails) are.. Soft, like Plastic. sometimes they will come loose. their will be No Blood. it makes logan Viscerally Uncomfortable.

roman: though his body is Perfect, as previously mentioned, when hes alone.. hes willing to play with it. make it art. hes cried tears of blood before. sometimes, whenever he feels too fake, he'll take himself apart. just to make sure. just to make sure. (him and logan are alike in too many ways)

virgil: he is a glass canon. his body is fragile, any stray thought he has is susceptible to hurting him (what if im having a heart attack? what if this cut hit a vein?) but. whenever he feels the other sides are in danger? he is horrifically strong. like a parent with a child in danger, he will punch hard enough to break someone but shatter his arm in the process.

janus: though he tries his best to hide it, remus and virgil Know intimately how sick he is. sometimes, he gets poisoned with his own venom and seizes up for hours. in the winter, hes in and out of consciousness, with no rhyme or reason. he gets wild mood swings too, occasionally loosing the ability to feel affection for hours or days, as snakes cant feel that. it terrifies him.

remus: besides logan and janus, his body is painfully realistic. he takes it farther though. his shapeshifting is never.. clean. its all disgusting and gross and like shoving all his organs and bones into a new bag and all the terrible consequences that come with that. as well, he doesnt heal instantly like the other sides. no. he lets it stay as long as it takes.

okay i know we're all still reeling from the analogical drama in the last video, but i just want to bring to your attention..

roman's reaction to their final interaction where logan figures out the puzzle. my boy is so invested, it's adorable 😭

What do the crew do? Do they have jobs or do they just kinda hang out and get around

they have jobss :). that are so very legal they prommies. can the space government find out what these Jobss :) are and how they are getting money?? well noo, but uhh... :3

in all seriousness they are space pirates!! THEY ARE SPACE PIRATES!! they engage in SO MUCH space crime!!! they steal they scam they ransack etc. though they try and stay away from the real horrors of it (why theyre a small crew) they still commit space crime.

and they get away with it!! because pattons species is seen as Sweet Innocent Wise Elders, roman has important political connections is a prince and a nepo baby, and virgils social anxiety makes him just seem like a gentle giant.

Kid sides but Logan is the youngest because it takes longer for logic to develop where emotions and daydreams and lies develop faster. I didn't write it but Remus is the second youngest (8 1/2) because he split off from Roman like a peeled scab just because I can.

but what intrigues me the most are those question marks on their ages! for how many human years have they existed? (hope that made sense)

ooh good question.. this is probably the biology ive thought the least about. note that this is all up in the air for now:

patton: a While. he is probably well into his 80s with a LOTTT more left in him. the lore isnt clear in my head yet but his species.. it isnt exactly Normal. note how hes the only one without a spacesuit. they arent Elf long lived but like. think tortoise long lived. 250-ish years

virgil: probably pretty close to his "human" age, maybee 32? i think 120 is like. their 100. if that makes sense. just a bit longer lived than humans

roman: probably like 18!! hes probably, out of the four, the one with the shortest life span. not by a lot!! but like. 95-ish is his species Hard Limit, like how ours is 115-ish. virgil and pat have emotions abt this (they mostly use it to be playfully doting, tho)

for those who do not know what humans are deathworlders is, its a sci-fi trope based off the concept that humans, compared to other intelligent life, are SCARILY strong because of the climate of our planet.

here is my insane all the sides are body horror agenda [obvious tw for gore/body-horror ish stuff - under the cut bc. descriptions of gore - no pictures]

logan: he is the only side with completely normal organs and body! completely. normal. down to the inch. he is a living medical textbook. you could take him apart and measure his organs exactly. he promises. hes Tested.

patton: he Looks normal on the outside, and mostly, he is! he looks like thomas mostly. but.. he doesnt really.. bother. with the inside stuff. it makes him squeamish. (logan xrayed him once- and said only one word after. "soup.")

roman: he doesnt let himself scar. no matter how large the wounds he gets are, his skin will be porcelain as always. as well, he looks the youngest out of all the sides. he has no wrinkles or beauty marks. his heartbeat is to the rhythm of whatever song hes listening too.

virgil: mostly fine, except.. whenever he has a panic attack. his rib cage will shift and lock around his lungs. his heart will beat absurdly fast (logan has record 900 bpm once). outside of that, he bleeds so easily - even if he just bites his nails. if patton hugs him too hard, and he gets nervous, his ribs will cave in.

janus: probably second weirdest. his body is always fighting itself, in between snake and human. he gets horrifically sick regularly; with the human half of his body rejecting the snake like a transplant, and vice versa. new scales will tear through his skin and make him bleed for hours. he will crave a mouse, eat it, and then throw it up.

remus: hes covered in scars. his organs are constantly being dissolved, reformed, fusing, and dissolving again. he can and will break all his bones on command. he can do wolverine claws. occasionally he'll get bored and just start. going through rigor mortis. for the bit.
