The uptick in using words like aggressive, abusive and toxic to describe Annabeth is not a coincidence. Nor is the uptick in people who suddenly don't like her and Percy together. They're both directly tied to her being cast as black on the tv show.

Those words and this narrative is steeped in racism. The fact that you're not using the N words or acknowledging her race in the show doesn't mean we don't see your dog whistle for exactly what it is. The increase in using those specific words to describe Annabeth is very much aligned with racism. And the push to hate Percabeth is also steeped in racism and the idea that you guys do not see black girls, specifically mono racial dark skinned black girls, as deserving of love, attention and affection s the main female lead in the show. Most of you would not be this intense in your hatred of Annabeth or Percabeth if she was cast as a blond white girl.

And yes, I know that anti Annabeth/Percabeth sentiments has existed before the shows casting. But you would have to be a idiot to not understand that the uptick in Annabeth/Percabeth hate is directly related to her being cast as black in the show, which will be the dominant media imagery for Annabeth Chase for the next decade plus. So suddenly when she's a black girl you guys are increasingly pushing the narrative that that character is abusive, toxic, mean etc when she absolutely is not.

Most of you guys aren't slick. You're simply disgustingly racist and hiding your misogyny and bigotry as character analysis. I've been in enough fandom to clock the signs.
