this fabric is gorgeous

Ichiroya lists this as a maiko furisode and you can tell it almost certainly was; sleeve tucks (though I can’t really make out if there are tucks at the shoulder) the heavy red staining at the lining (thanks to the red momi wrap worn under the obi) and the evidence of heavy use despite the relative age. Maiko and Geiko really but their kimono to work!

is it canon for legacy that orochimaru worked with/under danzous orders? If yes, what are the chances that the boys will find proof of it in the snakes lair?

I'd suggest re-reading More Secrets to Sell and Keep Your Enemies Close for details about the connection between Danzou and Orochimaru. As for what Genma and Raidou will find in the ruined temple, a lot will depend on what they have time and the ability to do. Primary objective is recovering their teammates.

I don't know what would be a funnier outcome: Raidou and Genma rescuing the rookies on a God Ordained Quest or Orochimaru dragging them along into a different dimension and landing in the middle of Minatos grudge match with the biju...

i love the world of legacy y'all have created but there's one really big problem and it's that i want to go on konoha pubmed SO DESPERATELY and i can't and it kills me!! as a research neuroscientist every time y'all get into the science of chakra and how it works as a system inside the human body i start thinking about the chakra processing neural circuitry and die a little on the inside cause i can't read about it 😔 oh well guess i'll have to speculate inside my own head instead!!

Oh my friend, you are a kindred spirit! I would love nothing better than to peruse Konoha pubmed with you, and talk long and animatedly over caffeinated beverages about the neuroscience of chakra. We try hard to make it at least plausible and self-consistent, but there are so many unknowns, and magic is as magic does. Unequal henge was our most recent topic of discussion.

Thinking about ANBU Legacy again. Your work and writing got me through college, and now it's getting me through graduate school. I hope everyone is well and safe and healthy.

Thank you so much! We are well and safe and happy so far. ANBU Legacy has gotten us through international moves, marriages, career changes, post-graduate education, chronic illness, and a whole lot more. We're delighted it's holding up for you as well. Hope your graduate school experience is as good as it can be, and that you are loving your studies.

I came here right after happening to see the new chapter in my inbox. It feels sort of unbelievable and certainly unbelievably special that I’ve carried these characters and this story that you’ve created in the back of my mind for over six years now. Like, I was younger than many of the characters when I started reading it and I’m older than them now. Thank you for sharing it with us and thank you for sticking with it all this time. I feel incredibly lucky that I get to have it in my life.

We are absolutely delighted to have you as a long-time reader. These characters have taken up permanent residence in our brains and lives, and we love sharing them with others who cherish them too. We'll keep writing as long as there is story to tell (and you can probably guess from the latest chapter that there is still story to tell.)
